Chapter 23 - June

June

I hated seeing the team lose. It made me feel helpless, sitting on the bench and watching them struggle. It was a harsh reminder that even though I felt like part of the team now, I was secondary. Whether they won or lost was ultimately up to the players on the ice.

On a more personal level, it pained me to see Cole and Rhett upset. My relationships with the two men were mostly physical, but I cared about them. When they trudged into the locker room after the game, I wished I could wrap them each in a long hug to make them feel better.

We went through our post-game routines. Ice baths, massages, post-game workouts.

Rhett hopped on the treadmill after the game and jogged for an hour, took a shower, then went into Coach Jay’s office and closed the door.

His office was mostly soundproof, but I still heard yelling through the door.

By the time he came out, I was finishing up some paperwork in my office.

Coach Jay left without saying goodbye to me. That told me the meeting with Rhett, whatever it was about, went poorly.

The right wing was sitting in front of his locker, facing away from me while tying his shoes. Everyone else had already left, except for one of our defensemen doing stretches in the weight room.

Rhett almost jumped when I came up and touched him on the shoulder. “Shit. I thought a bomb went off,” he said with a laugh.

“Not a bomb. Just an exhausted trainer. You okay?”

He grimaced up at me. “I am not.”

“What’d you and Jay talk about?” I asked gently.

“I calmly told him that I don’t want to be benched in the future, even if there is a security threat. And he politely told me he would consider my desires and make the best decision for the team.”

I stared at him. “Okay, what really happened?”

Rhett gave me a boyish smirk. “I warned him that if he ever benched me again, I would smash his car with a baseball bat. And he told me game decisions were up to him, and that I should mind my own fucking business.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m new here, so maybe I don’t understand how things work, but is it a good idea to threaten your coach?”

“I’ll let you know tomorrow.” He flashed a smile. “Seeing you makes me feel a little better, though.”

Rhett looked so weary, which was in stark contrast to his normal enthusiastic attitude. It made me wish I could snap my fingers and make everything better.

There’s one way I can cheer him up.

“Hey, I have a question,” I said, taking him by the hand and pulling him off the bench.

I led him into the adjacent bathroom, where there were rows of individual showers.

The first six or so showers were always well-used, but the ones in the back hardly ever saw any use.

When I pulled back the curtain on one of them, I saw that it was as spotless as it was when the cleaning crew came through earlier today.

“What are you…” Rhett asked.

I dropped to my knees and gazed up at him through my eyelashes. “You’ve had a long day. Let me help you relax.”

In the blink of an eye, I had his shorts around his ankles. His cock was soft enough that I could take the entire thing in my mouth, all the way down to his base, without gagging. He responded with the most delicious moan, his eyes wide with surprise.

“God damn, June,” he whispered.

He hardened inside my mouth within seconds, and I had to pull back. I gripped his shaft with my fingers and stroked him steadily while swirling my tongue around his crown.

“Shh,” I told him when he let out another groan of pleasure. “O’Malley is still in the weight room.”

Sometimes it was nice to take your time and draw things out, and other times it was fun to do things fast. Tonight, I focused on my task of getting Rhett to come as quickly as possible.

I wished I had started a timer, because if there was a blowjob olympics, I probably would have set a personal record tonight.

Rhett put his hand on the back of my head and guided me up and down his hard length.

Sooner than I ever could have expected, he was hissing with pleasure and tightening his fingers into a fist in my hair, his cock shuddering with release between my lips.

I moaned around his crown as he emptied himself into my mouth, only pulling away when I had taken every single drop.

His chest heaved as I stood up, swallowed, and then gave him a soft kiss. “How’s that for physical training? Better than what Andy would do?”

“Way better,” Rhett said, cupping my ass with a hand. “Andy wouldn’t swallow.”

The joke caught me off guard so much that I burst out laughing. Rhett grinned widely.

When I was able to speak again, I said, “I’m tempted to tell him you said that.”

“Do it,” he replied. “Andy loved telling dirty jokes. He was a filthy old man.”

We made sure the coast was clear, then individually returned to the locker room. I glanced through the window into my office and through to the workout room, where O’Malley was still exercising.

“Hope you feel a little better now,” I told Rhett.

“I feel amazing. I probably won’t destroy Coach Jay’s headlights with a baseball bat.”

“Probably?”

Rhett shrugged. “Who knows what tomorrow may bring?”
