Epilogue

L awrence sat beside Remy on the couch, stealing some of his fries. They were at Nik and Chayse’s after a night out celebrating the former’s birthday. They had dinner early in the evening, then went to a club for a few hours before spending a couple of hours at Paradise 826. Afterward, they picked up some food and ended up where they were. It was three in the morning, and he knew they’d be leaving soon.

“Hey, Love. Come here for a minute,” Nik called from the balcony doors as Alijah returned. He’d disappeared from the group several minutes ago, and Lawrence didn’t remember Alijah going out there, but she must have. Chayse got up and headed his way, the two disappearing outside.

“Did you enjoy your anniversary, And?” Erin asked.

“I did. We stayed at the Surf he had only done them for him. It was a testament to how he felt, so it had been so easy to ask him not to renew his lease when the time came. He wanted him close and wanted them to be together. He wanted to come home to Lawrence daily and experience life with him. Remy didn’t think he’d ever wanted anything more than the man in his arms.

“I wonder if Nik will try to talk Chayse into getting married on his birthday, too,” Lawrence broke the silence .

Remy chuckled. “I don’t think he will. He’s too whipped not to let her have everything she wants.”

“Mm, like you,” Lawrence teased.

“Like me,” Remy affirmed. “You know, I feel like Nik stole my thunder a little. I was going to suggest this tomorrow, but…let's go house hunting.”

“I’m already moving in in a couple of months.”

“Yes, but you’re moving into a place that’s mine. I want to start this new chapter of our lives in a place we choose together.”

Lawrence shifted. “You’d be willing to sell your condo so we can get a place together?”

“Of course, baby. We’re starting a life together. This is a place I’ve lived. I want a home with you, to spend the rest of our lives together.”

“And raise two point five kids?” Lawrence questioned.

“If the point five is an animal. Sure.”

The other man chuckled. “I can get behind that.”

“We can start looking this week.”

Remy pulled him closer, even though he knew he wouldn’t be able to get any closer unless he climbed on top of him. He was glad they were on the same page and that their goals for their future aligned. He wanted kids and hadn’t been against them when his parents started dropping hints, but he hadn’t dated anyone he wanted that with until now. He could picture him and Lawrence watching their kids, a boy and a girl, running around and playing in the backyard of whatever house they found. It was a future he was ready to see.

“You know those pinatas your parents give you?”

“Mhm. What about them?” Remy asked.

“I think this year should be the last time they give you one.”

Remy paused for a moment as he allowed the words to sink in. It seemed his boyfriend was ready to see that future, too. Though he did not doubt by the time they did, he’d be calling him his husband.

“Yeah, we can do that. I love you.”

Lawrence kissed his chest. “And I love you.”

Remy could imagine the sound of a baby crying and laughing throughout the house, and he and Lawrence acclimating to their life together, parenthood, and everything it would bring. As he closed his eyes, he couldn’t help the smile that slipped onto his face. It would be the best type of… Havoc .
