Motion #2
I let out a sigh. “God, you just as bad as that nigga Gio. What the fuck don’t you understand, Jada?
You fucked up our family, you thought shit was sweet, you thought I was gonna let you do whatever the fuck you wanted while I fronted the bill.
Mind you, bitch, we ain’t been together in a year.
I’ve been in other relationships; why is this one fuckin’ with you this bad?
Is it because the nigga you thought would put you on a pedestal looks up to me?
Or is it because I put a ring on her and doing the shit with her you thought I would do with you? ”
She gave me a blank stare, face all fucked up, then had the nerve to start crying.
“I just wanted us to give it another chance.”
“Bitch!” I yelled out. “I don’t want another anything with you! I am good, been good, been up since I left you. Now tell me where my wife is so I can get her.”
What I said stopped all her damn crying real quick.
“I am not telling you shit, Love. You would really do the mother of your child like this?”
I stared at her up and down from a distance. She walked around her living room like she had one up on me, talking shit like I didn’t just slap the fuck outta her.
“You know, Love, I was with you when you didn’t have shit. When you was on the block struggling, I was there. I was your backbone. I—”
“You are giving yourself a lil’ too much credit for me, Jada, and at the end of the day, none of that shit matters. I need to find Islah. I heard you’ve been making comments and shit, just tell me where the fuck she is. I don’t want her or my baby hurt.”
“Your baby?!” she screamed. “You’re having a baby with her!”
I stared at her, not even giving a response to that dumb shit.
Jada sat in the middle of her couch, lit her half-blunt that was sitting in the ashtray, and looked back at me.
“I’ma tell you this, only cause you made me mad, so I’ma make you mad too. Gio found me on Facebook and called me. I told him where to find her. How did I know? I have been watching her and her so-called friends’ pages. If it wasn’t for me, he wouldn’t have found her.”
The more she talked, the more I kept trying to remind myself she was my child’s mother. The way she talked about Islah, the way she’s the real reason all this shit happened, everything was becoming clearer.
“Oh, and guess what else?” she continued. “I sent him to a ducked-off motel that wasn’t in any area you or your lil’ minions would check. Fuck you! Fuck her! And fuck yo’ bab—”
I upped my Glock and shot her in the chest three times. Not for an instant kill, so that she would bleed out slow.
She grabbed her chest, trying to reach out for me.
“Nah, baby girl, go ahead and continue talking that shit… Fuck who?” I asked her.
She tried to reach for her phone. I walked over and snatched it up off the table before she could get to it.
“You forgot how I moved, Jada. That wasn’t smart of you.”
She threw herself onto the floor, trying to move over to me.
“Amir… Amir…” she managed to get out.
I laughed. “You wasn’t thinking about him before you did this shit, were you?
You know that lil’ nigga loves Islah and is ready to be a big brother, and you are trying to take that away from him—from me.
” She was still trying to get to me, so I moved back.
“That’s the shit that was probably eating you up at night, huh?
That I was able to give him a real family in a house and shit. ”
She looked up at me, and I used her face to unlock her phone. I checked her messages and didn’t see anything from Gio, but her call logs were a different story, showing a bunch of calls back and forth between her and Gio.
I went through and checked Messenger. Seeing where he called her, her sending him that club info, then him sayin’ he got her.
A lil’ ways down, I found the hotel she told him about in the country and put the address in my phone, then I looked back down at Jada. Shorty was about to be called to her final home.
“Damn, girl, it don’t look like you gonna make it past this, huh? I’ll make sure to remind Amir how much you loved him and all that bullshit. Other than that… I will see you at your funeral, ho.”
I tucked my Glock back into my pants and walked outta the crooked front door, hopped in my whip, and pulled off, doing over a hundred on the interstate to make it to the address Jada gave Gio.
What should have taken me over an hour to get to the country took about forty-five minutes.
When I pulled up to the motel, I saw some crackheads in front.
“Aye,” I said, rollin’ my window down with a few dollars in my hand. They walked over to my car, and I showed them two pictures. “Have you seen a nigga that looked like him, or her?”
They stared at the picture for a few seconds, then one of them pointed around to the side.
“I saw her the other day. She was yelling for help and something about love before she was pulled inside.”
Hearing that made my heart drop.
“What room was it?”
“Upstairs, room 305.”
I handed them the money and the lil’ bit of smoke I had on me, and I drove around the building until I saw room 305. I parked right in front of the steps, hopped outta my car, and ran up the steps, banging on the door, yelling Islah’s name.
Nobody answered.
I looked around, then kicked the door in.
The room was a mess: bags, medical shit, liquor bottles all around. I knew them niggas were there. I then looked through to another room and ran over to it.
They had two rooms, and I could tell that Islah was in the second. There was a dresser in front of the door leading outside, and her favorite body wash was in the bathroom.
I sat on the edge of the bed and cuffed my face. I just knew I was gonna bust in that room and get my girl back, but instead, I was left with her scent.
I was ready to walk out when a Mexican lady with towels walked in, and I scared her.
“How long the people in here been gone?” I asked.
She shook her head.
“I don’t know, sir, 305 and 306 were booked over and over again. I was just seeing if they needed towels. They don’t ask for any.”
I nodded, tossed her some money to not speak on the door, and I walked out.
On my drive home, I called Keith. That nigga must keep his phone in his hand when I’m on other shit cause he answered after the first ring.
“You good?”
“I’m always good, brah, you know that.”
“You talk to Jada?”
“I did. I wish her the best on her trip.”
He already knew what that meant.
“And what about the drop on Islah?”
“I checked her phone, found the hotel. They are not there. Housekeeping can’t tell me how long they have been gone.”
“Damn, Boss… What is the next move?”
“I have her phone…keep the streets watching, and I’ma wait for his call. They seemed to have been talking a lot.”
“Say less, I got you,” Keith responded.
Gio and Jada must have thought they were getting the last laugh.
That girl released the monster inside me that I was trying to keep in its cage, and I wasn’t gonna stop until I had my girl back.
