Chapter 15
SOME ROLE-PLAY FUN
Killian
Fire pumped through my veins as I stared Lexi down, but it wasn’t only fury that had my blood boiling. Those hate-filled, burning blue eyes and those plump lips that deserved to be wrapped around my cock crammed my mind with indecent images.
Obviously, the head on top of my shoulders had relinquished control to the one between my legs.
This girl crashed back into my life just over a week ago, and my world had already tilted off its axis.
Dangerous.
Lexi Vega was too damn dangerous. I couldn’t pry myself out of her orbit, though. Like an addict, I needed another hit.
“I don’t see your clothes falling to the ground, pledge,” I growled, glancing at Micah before shifting my focus back to Lexi. “Don’t make me ask again.”
When I saw Micah Preston sitting with her, laughing and flirting like she was his girl, a wave of rage slammed into my chest and nearly knocked me over. Crimson washed over my vision, tinting the gleaming mahogany tables, polished hardwoods, and even the students in a bloody hue.
She wasn’t his anything. She was mine.
Mine to break until she ran screaming from Stonewall University.
But deep down, I didn’t want her to leave. I wanted to watch her fall apart, shatter into a million pieces, and then crawl on her hands and knees right to me.
That was the sick truth. And I’d never admit it out loud.
“Micah, don’t do it.” Her eyes narrowed into slits, the blue searing between her dark lashes. “He’s just pissed at me and taking it out on you.”
“Uh, you two know each other?” Micah’s hand stalled on the hem of his shirt. He searched for another frat brother who might offer help, but they all knew better than to go against me.
A cloud of pungent perfume hit my senses before a hand wrapped around my arm.
“Lexi, is it?” Lorelei had the nerve to try to draw me away, but my boots remained cemented to the floor. “You have no business interfering in the order of things here. Killian is a Sigma Delta, and I’m a Zeta. If we command one of our own to do something, no outsider can meddle.”
“I couldn’t care less who you are.” Lexi barely spared the blonde glued to my side a glance. “Why are you even involved in this conversation?”
Lorelei scoffed and rested her fingertips on her chest, offended. “Why don’t you go back to the poorhouse, charity case? We all know you’re only here because of a scholarship.”
A flush pooled in Lexi’s cheeks, but instead of running away with her tail between her legs like all the other girls around here, she lifted her chin. “I got into Stonewall on my own merit instead of mommy and daddy’s checkbook. Maybe try it sometime.”
“You know nothing about me—”
“I’m not ashamed of everything I’ve accomplished,” Lexi continued, ignoring Lorelei’s sputtering. “You, on the other hand, might want to consider cracking open a textbook, or you’ll just become a trophy wife who gets traded in for a newer model after ten years.”
While Lorelei’s mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water, it took every ounce of control I possessed not to give Lexi a round of applause. My former best friend never had a problem standing up to bullies at school.
She was always the strong one.
Always.
Not like me.
“Now, if you don’t mind, I need to speak with Killian alone.” Lexi grabbed my other arm and towed me away, forcing Lorelei to relinquish her clawed hold.
“Where are we going?” I asked, watching her ass as she stormed across the crowded room.
“Somewhere more private,” she hissed.
Lexi dragged me–I let her–around the corner and into an empty alcove. She pushed me against a wall, shoving her finger into my chest as if that would scare me.
“Leave Micah alone, Kill. I mean it.”
The humor evaporated when she spoke his name, and my body grew as rigid as marble. “Or what, Red?” I snatched her shoulders, flipped our positions, and pressed her into the wall, towering over her tiny frame. “Are you going to spout lies about me this time?”
The words tasted like acid the second they left my mouth.
Her lashes fluttered, and the color drained from her cheeks. “That’s not what happened, and you know it.” Her voice, barely above a whisper, hit the minute space between us. Daggers twisted my heart from her betrayal all those years ago.
I jammed my fingers through my hair as tremors raced through my muscles. Fuck. Why did I have to bring that up?
Her hand rested on my arm as she stared up at me with those baby blues that had once been capable of making me do anything. “You wouldn’t listen, and—”
A low growl vibrated my throat, and I jerked her hand off. “Who the fuck said you could touch me?”
Most girls shrank when I cornered them; Lexi Vega just shoved her chin up like she wanted the fight. She had the audacity to look hurt for a second, but it quickly transformed into fury. “Don’t take your anger out on Micah. Leave him alone. You have a problem, take it up with me.”
“No can do, sweetheart.” I braced my hands on the wall beside her head, trapping her. “When a pledge breaks the rules, he has to pay the price. And that price is for him to strip and retrieve his shirt.”
“That will humiliate him,” she hissed.
My upper lip curled into a sneer. “That’s the point. And because you’re so fond of him, I think I’ll make him jog by the dean’s office. He’ll get a real kick out of that.”
Her mouth dropped. “That could land Micah in serious trouble, maybe even expulsion.”
I shrugged. “He should have thought about that before ignoring his priorities.” And for thinking he had any right to sit with her, smiling like she was his world.
“Just leave him alone, Kill.” Her voice cracked. “I’ll do... anything.”
The moment the words left her mouth, regret flashed across her face.
She could probably see the gears whirling in my head as a wonderful, vile thought struck me.
Lorelei, whose stare burned into the back of my head from across the room, had reminded me that Lexi didn’t have the money to afford anything here. And she’d need it.
So I did what any evil, villainous monster would. I latched onto her desperation to fulfill my sick desires, all to save her friend.
A wolfish grin slowly broke across my face as I bent my arms and crushed my body into hers. “Anything?”
Lexi’s audible gulp made my dick throb. She licked her lips, hesitating. “Anything.”
“You’ll be my servant—um, assistant—this semester?” This was so wrong and yet so fucking right. “In return, I’ll pay for your Geology trip and ease up on Micah.”
The fire blazing in her stare threatened to melt my bones. “I hate you.”
“I know.” I blew her a kiss. “But do we have a deal?”
She lifted her chin, teeth baring in a grimace. “Deal.”
“I. Am. Not. Wearing. That.” Lexi jabbed her finger at the slutty black and white French maid uniform on my bed, complete with stripper heels.
I hadn’t actually expected her to show up. And I definitely hadn’t expected her to walk into my bedroom like she belonged there.
Pulling out the slutty costume was a last-minute decision. Slate had bought it for a pledge to wear, but Axel put a stop to it and tossed it into his closet.
“You made this deal, Red. Now you have to keep up your end of the bargain.” I gave a lazy shrug and leaned against my dresser.
“If you don’t, I’ll go back on my word and screw with Micah even worse.
And I won’t fund your half of the trip. Gosh, how will you ever pass Geology and keep your scholarship? ”
Seeing how upset Lexi was over Micah had polluted my brain and stolen the sense right out of it.
She wasn’t allowed to care about someone else.
Was that stupid and irrational as fuck?
Of course.
But did I care?
Nope.
I wasn’t serious about making her my servant because that would put her in my personal space, but here she was in my fucking bedroom, of all places. And what the hell would I do if she actually donned that revealing outfit?
Lexi flicked her auburn locks over her shoulder. “I’m not walking around a frat house dressed like a whore.”
I pushed off my dresser and demolished the space between us until her vanilla scent—with a hint of something fruity—rushed over me.
Fuck, she smelled good.
She always had, but when we were kids, it was softer.
Subtle.
This new, heightened version sure as hell had a grip on me. And why was that fragrance so familiar?
“I own you, Red,” I murmured. “And you’re going to wear it, or no deal.”
“Stop calling me that!”
“Would you prefer ‘servant’? What about ‘slave’?” My gaze ran down her body, noticing how much she’d filled out since the last time I’d seen her at sixteen. Fantasies of cupping those perfect tits fogged my mind.
Tingles crawled down my spine, and my hand twitched, longing to touch her, mark her, ruin her for anyone else.
Shit.
Get a grip, Killian.
Lexi wouldn’t have agreed to this deal in exchange for the cost of the trip, but promising not to humiliate Micah every chance I got had pushed her over the edge. She was too self-sacrificing not to go for it, which made what she did before I left San Carlo even more confusing.
“Sorry for interrupting.” Axel lumbered into the room and threw his gym bag on the floor beside a pile of dirty clothes. His brow arched at the costume on my bed. “Are you two about to partake in some role-play fun?”
I backed away from Lexi. “She’s working for me for the next few weeks. Cleaning, laundry, and whatever else I want.”
Axel’s grin set alarms off in my head. “Anything you want? How about me?” He licked his lips as his attention lingered on her chest.
“Not a fucking chance, Ax.” I barely restrained a snarl.
He arched an eyebrow at me again and stared like he did in class. Could he see my perfect facade slipping because of this girl? Did he sense the storm of rage brewing in me?
Did my best friend know how much restraint it took to keep my fist from flying at his face right now?
Forget the maid outfit. No way in hell could I keep calm with dozens of horny college assholes drooling after her. I couldn’t even stand my best friend eye-banging her.
“Your clingy sorority girl is downstairs.” My roommate’s eyes glazed over as he stared at Lexi, probably building a fantasy around her in the maid outfit.
For shit’s sake, I didn’t need to deal with Lorelei right now. The more she tried to sink her claws in, the more I loathed her. She caught me at a weak moment the other night when I was drunk and sucked me off, but the entire time I’d pictured Lexi’s mouth around my cock instead of hers.
I shook off the images before I got hard and shifted around to cut off Axel’s view of my new pet. “You can start by cleaning my room, Lexi.”
“You want a maid?” She glared at me. “Hire one.”
“That wasn’t the deal, and you know it.”
With an exasperated sigh, her lips pursed as she surveyed the nearly spotless space. “But it’s already clean.”
“It needs to be dusted.” I waved toward the pigsty Axel lived in. “His side too.”
He pumped his fist. “Yes! I hate cleaning.”
“Obviously,” she muttered under her breath.
“Hello, sexy thing.” Slate sauntered into my room as he sipped a fruity concoction that probably had enough liquor to get all three of us buzzed. “Who are you?”
He wiggled his eyebrows and blew Lexi a kiss.
Lexi snorted at his over-the-top flirting.
Once again, those fires of fury blazed through me, and the hair on my nape lifted like a predator sensing another.
My nostrils flared, every inhalation adding more fuel to the inferno.
The dangerous twinkle in Slate’s hazel eyes as he studied Lexi sent my heart into overdrive, my pulse thundering in my ears.
If he didn’t stop looking at her like she was his next fuck buddy, I’d knock him out.
“She’s the help,” Axel said, tossing more dirty clothes on the ground. “Can you do my laundry too?”
Slate set his drink on Axel’s dresser, knowing better than to put it on mine, and made a beeline for Lexi. “Don’t mind if I help myself to this gorgeous creature.”
My fingers curled into fists at my sides. He looked ready to bend her over my bed and screw her right in front of us.
Before I even realized I’d moved, I hit Slate’s chest so hard he stumbled back. “Touch her and die, Wentworth,” I growled.
Slate’s hazel eyes bugged out as he caught his balance. “Whoa, Kill. Didn’t know she was taken. I thought you and Battenberg were on again.”
Axel’s chuckle held a nervous edge, almost as if he sensed my control barely hanging by a thread.
“Kill’s a little wound up today.” He grabbed Slate’s drink and shoved it into his hand.
“Let’s give him some alone time with his lovely employee.
Maybe she’ll help him relax.” He winked and propelled Slate toward the door.
I turned my back on them to hide my confusion.
What the hell was wrong with me?
Now, I’d almost attacked two of my closest friends simply because they found Lexi hot.
The girl in question studied me, but could she see past all my armor? Did she realize I’d been close to fighting my friends over her?
This is fucking ridiculous.
“You two kids play nice.” Axel slipped behind me and crushed a hand into my back, shoving me right into Lexi. His laughter echoed in the hall as he shut the door on us.
She screeched as the two of us tumbled forward, landing in a heap of tangled limbs on my bed. On instinct, my hips rocked into hers, electricity crackling down my back, and she gasped.
That sound hit me like a punch to the gut, and my dick instantly hardened.
“Well, fuck.” I couldn’t stop the husky words from dropping out of my mouth any more than I could prevent my cock from rubbing against her pussy. Calm, level-headed Killian had left the building. “Looks like the big bad wolf caught you, little Red.” My voice dropped. “Now what are you going to do?”
