Chapter 21

IS SOMEONE JEALOUS?

Killian

“Where’s your roommate?”

Cordelia jumped at my harsh tone and almost spilled her drink.

“OMG, Killian, don’t give me a heart attack.

I’d like to enjoy life before the Grim Reaper escorts me to hell.

” She tilted her head and studied me, the lights picking up the streaks of purple in her black bob. “What’s got you so worked up?”

As I crowded her space, her smile faltered. “Where. Is. Lexi?”

Cordelia sipped her cocktail and shimmied her hips as if a club song was blasting instead of classical music. “She vanished a little while ago.”

I hadn’t seen Micah either.

By the look on his face when he pulled out that picture, he knew exactly who the girl in the butterfly mask was.

The Serpents & Daggers didn’t simply order Lords or Neophytes to kill at random. Something like this wasn’t taken lightly. Bass would need an Ascended’s permission, probably someone in the Inner Circle.

Of course, my stepbrother would have concocted a story about this mystery girl, like she’d stumbled upon some other crime involving the Lords.

I hated Lexi Vega, but if anyone was going to hurt her, it would be me. “Where’s Micah?”

Cordelia smirked. “Is someone jealous?”

I dragged my hand down my face, resisting the urge to choke her. “I need a drink.” A crowd gathered around the bar on the right, and not one damn server appeared with a tray of champagne.

“If you have a thing for my roomie, you could just—”

I snatched the colorful cocktail out of Cordelia’s hand.

“Don’t drink that!” she hissed.

As soon as the sweet flavor coated my tongue and a bitter one followed, I regretted the long pull. “What the hell was in this?”

“Just a little something from Axel.” She pulled out two white pills from her purse and grinned. “At least the Hug Drug will have you feeling yummy in a few minutes.” Based on her smile, it was clear she’d already taken at least one herself.

Son of a bitch.

I did not need to be on some designer ecstasy bullshit right now. I needed to figure out how to keep Micah away from Lexi. He had to kill her to make it into the Serpents & Daggers.

The question was... would he do it?

I shoved the now empty glass back into Cordelia’s hand and marched off, searching for the girl threatening to destroy my life once again. Hopefully, I could keep a level head around her once the drugs hit.

After exploring the front of the house, avoiding the important alumni and my frat brothers, I found Lexi near the stairs with her arms wrapped around her middle and face pale. My throat tightened at her appearance. She looked terrified.

Something old and soft, something I’d buried a long time ago, threatened to re-emerge.

I shoved it down with a wave of fury. Had Micah already tried something?

If he had, I’d break every bone in his body.

“Where have you been?” I snarled.

She scowled and lifted her chin to mask her fear. “None of your damn business.”

I peered around her, my movements agitated. “Have you seen Micah?”

“Why?” She propped her hands on her hips, fully embracing her anger at me, and drawing my attention to her curves. “Did you do something to him?”

“Stay away from him. He’s dangerous.”

A laugh burst out of her. “Micah, dangerous? Oh, please. You’re just being a controlling prick who wants—”

My fingers curled around her arm, and I yanked her against me, her breasts pushing into my chest. “I’m fucking serious, Red. You have no idea what’s going on.”

She stared up at me with those hypnotic blue eyes and those pouty lips that I longed to bite. “Then tell me what’s going on.”

The room suddenly tilted, and I stumbled into a wall, dragging Lexi with me. As our bodies collided, a wave of pleasure shot warmth through my dick. A groan slipped out at the electrical pulses throbbing everywhere we touched.

Oh, fuck.

“What the hell is wrong with you, Kill?” She gripped my jaw and forced me to meet her gaze as she studied my, what by now would be, blown-out pupils. “What are you on?”

Fire pumped through my veins, and I finally released her to shed my jacket, tossing it onto a chair. “I need to get out of here. Outside. It’s too damn hot.”

Surprisingly, Lexi grabbed my hand, towing me through the party toward the back door. Micah strolled around the corner, and I slowed my steps to make sure the prick saw us rushing outside together.

The smile parting my lips when our eyes met would have made the devil proud. Micah Preston was about to learn that Lexi Vega did belong to me. If he thought he could touch her or dare to harm her, he’d have to go through me first.

Cool air rushed over my heated skin once we were outside, but I pulled Lexi to a stop on the porch, keeping us in view of the party through the glass doors. Music flowed from the house, and I jerked her into me, swaying to the slow rhythm.

Damn it, what am I doing?

“This feels nice.” I licked my lips. Everything felt fucking nice.

Lexi stopped fighting my hold and matched my steps, our bodies pressed against each other. “So you’re doing drugs now?”

“Blame your crazy-ass roommate.” My hands roamed down her back, cupping her ass and rocking my erection into her. She gasped when she felt it. “She drugged me.”

“What!”

“Technically, she drugged herself, and I stole her drink.” Fleetingly I thought maybe I should find Lorelei. She’d be more than happy to let me wet my dick. But a sour taste coated my tongue at having anyone except this sexy redhead in front of me.

Damn it. Being around Red while high would end in disaster.

My gaze lowered to the round cleavage spilling out of her dress. “Just keep moving. You feel so good. I’m thinking about ripping your clothes off and screwing you right here.”

“Killian!” she sputtered, looking around to ensure the porch was empty.

“Close that perfect mouth unless you want me to shove something in it.” My cock grew rock hard at the thought of forcing her to her knees and fucking that sassy mouth.

She shoved me back into a brick pillar, and my head thudded against the hard surface, shooting starbursts across my vision.

Either I was further gone than I thought, or she was stronger than I gave her credit for.

I must have cried out because Lexi closed the gap between us, her hands fussing over me.

“I didn’t mean to push you that hard,” she said.

Warmth spiraled in my chest at her unexpected show of concern. Since colliding into each other at Stonewall, my pain would normally bring a smile to her face.

“Are you okay? How are you feeling?” Lexi touched my cheek, her skin softer than silk.

I leaned forward and gripped the fabric of her dress at her hips. “I’m feeling like I want to bury my cock in your pussy.” For shit’s sake. I couldn’t stop the words coming out of my mouth any more than I could stop groping her.

If I was being honest with myself, I wasn’t sure I really wanted to.

“That’s a bad idea.” Her pulse raced, her breath quickening and ghosting along my cheek.

“Of course it’s a bad idea, but it’ll feel fantastic. And don’t deny that you want me, Red.” A familiar face appeared at the door, clearly coming to check on us after seeing his date take me outside, frowning when he saw us all over each other.

She nibbled on her bottom lip. “I don’t. In fact, I’m about to shove you off again.”

A dark chuckle coiled out of me as I scooted us to the far corner of the porch, not caring anymore if Micah couldn’t see us. He could imagine what was happening. “You’re lying. You’re doing that thing with your lip.”

Lexi’s arms went around my back, her touch burning through my dress shirt. “You’re only acting like this because you’re high. You’ll regret it when you’re sober. More importantly, so will I.”

My body was on fire, and Red was the only thing that could put out these agonizing flames. “I’ll worry about regret in the morning.” I gathered her dress on one side and lifted it. “You’re soaked for me, aren’t you, Red?”

“Don’t, Killian.” She didn’t stop my hand from slipping between her thighs. “I said no.”

My fingers halted just below her underwear. “Do you want me to stop because we’re in public and anyone can walk out here, or because you don’t want me?”

The answer was written all over her flushed face—as was the desire.

“No one’s paying attention to us. They’re all busy schmoozing each other.” That wasn’t entirely true. Micah could be watching. I hoped he was.

“Kill, I—”

I pulled her underwear aside and dragged a finger across her entrance, teasing her. “I knew it. So fucking wet, Red.”

My breath hitched. I finally knew how it felt to be inside her. It was only my finger, but it was enough to make my head spin. I’d dreamed about this when we were teenagers, imagining how it would feel to kiss her, to spread her out on my bed and have her come undone beneath me.

The tattoo over my heart throbbed as if it knew the very person behind the ink was slowly surrendering at my touch.

Her lids fluttered as I sank my finger deeper into her pussy. “K-Killian… you have to stop.”

“Make me.” I nibbled her ear, and instead of pushing me away, she rocked her hips, creating more friction as she rubbed against my palm. “That’s what I thought.”

Lexi melted into me, her breath ragged while her pulse jumped against my lips as I kissed her neck. She gasped when I bit her flesh, marking her as mine.

Would Micah see the bruise and know it was from me?

I added another finger and pumped in and out, her tiny whimpers making my dick throb. “Does this feel good?”

Her head angled back, giving me more access to her throat. “Nope. Not at all.” Her reply was all breath, even though she tried to hide it.

“Then you won’t mind me stopping.” I began to pull away.

“No, don’t!” Her mouth snapped shut the moment she realized her mistake.

My low, husky chuckle echoed between us as I dipped back into her, a shudder traveling through her body. She wanted to fight me, to push me away, but her brain was no longer in charge as lust conquered every shred of common sense—for both of us.

I’d loathe myself when I sobered up, but it would be worth it if that asshole Neophyte believed Lexi was mine. And I’d gut him if he hurt her.

Her frantic breaths filled the porch, and the pain from her nails digging into my shoulders had my balls tightening, begging for release.

I pressed her against the wall and hitched her leg around my hip, savoring the feel of her against my ultrasensitive skin. Lexi’s arousal soaked into me, and I craved her pleasure as if it were my own. “Do you want to come?”

“Yes. Please.”

“Tell me you want me,” I growled against her throat. “Tell me you fantasize about me as you play with yourself. You imagine my cock filling you until you scream for mercy.”

Lexi pulled back, those blue irises blazing as she scowled. “I hate you.”

I flicked her bottom lip with my tongue. “That doesn’t mean you don’t want me.” She whimpered as I circled her clit with my thumb. “Do you want to come or not, Red? I can leave you here to finish on your own, but it won’t be nearly as good. We both know it.”

She let out a string of curses that would make a pirate proud. “I want you, Killian. I’ve been thinking about you, pretending your hands are all over me while I pleasure myself.” Her nostrils flared even as she neared her release. “You’re the one I want inside me while I scream.”

“Good girl.”

My tempo quickened, and I twisted my fingers while thrusting in and out of her pussy. It didn’t take long for her muscles to spasm, and I crushed my mouth against hers to silence her moans while she came all over my hand.

Fuck. This girl would make me erupt in my pants.

Lexi’s head tipped back as she sagged against me, her cheeks flushed and skin practically glowing. “You are such a bastard.”

“There’s no denying how much you want me, though.” I pulled out of her, dropped her leg, and lifted my hand coated in her juices. As she watched, I slowly licked her from my fingers. “Your turn.”

She blinked, lost in a daze. “My turn for what?”

I grabbed her wrist and forced her palm against my throbbing cock. “It’s your turn to taste me.”
