Chapter 29 #3

I turned my head. Cillian knelt beside my head, his form silhouetted against the lamplight.

He was still, watching me, his expression unreadable.

Observing. The sound architect listening to the final chord resolve, waiting for the last instrument to play.

The sandalwood of him was cool and steady, a clean line of frequency in the warm, messy aftermath of the other two.

He had engineered my pleasure, amplified it, monitored it. But he hadn’t taken his own.

My body was a pliant, aching hum of satisfaction, but a part of me felt the quiet space he occupied. I shifted, the movement heavy, pulling my arm from under Bram. I held my hand out to him in invitation.

He moved. Not with Tuck’s primal momentum or Bram’s fractured need.

He moved like a technician approaching a delicate instrument, his motions economical and sure.

He took my hand, his palm cool against my heated skin, and brought it to his lips.

He didn’t kiss it. He just held it there, his breath ghosting over my knuckles.

He laid my hand back on the bed and shifted the others with quiet efficiency. He eased Tuck’s heavy arm from my waist, repositioning him without waking him. He drew the duvet higher over Bram’s shoulder. An act of care. A clearing of the board. Then he turned back to me.

“Turn over,” he said. It wasn’t a command. It was a stage direction.

I did, my limbs feeling boneless. I settled onto my stomach, my face turned towards him on the pillow.

He traced a line down my spine with one finger, from the nape of my neck to the small of my back. The touch was feather-light, almost imperceptible.

“I can smell them on you,” he murmured. His nose brushed my shoulder. “Cedar. Strong. He marks his territory.” Another brush, lower down. “Peppercorn. Fainter. More complex. He’s arguing with himself, even in his scent.”

His hand settled on the small of my back, his palm flat and warm. “And underneath… the chamomile. The constant. The through-line.”

He positioned himself behind me, lifting my hips with a slow, deliberate strength I hadn’t known he possessed. I felt the blunt, hot pressure of him against me, and he paused, waiting.

“Cill,” I breathed.

“I’m right here.” He entered me in one slow, impossibly deep glide.

It was a connection. A plug-in. The final cable locking into place. My body stretched to accommodate him, a different kind of full than with the others. Deeper. More central. He held himself completely still inside me, letting me adjust, letting our bodies learn each other.

“Breathe,” he whispered.

I did. And as I inhaled, the four scents in the room shifted. They stopped being four separate notes and coalesced into a single, unified frequency that filled the air, a scent I had never smelled before but recognized on a cellular level. Home. Pack. Complete.

He began to move. A slow, rhythmic pulse.

A perfect, steady beat. He was an engineer, and this was his work.

Not the frantic energy of building a track, but the final, satisfying process of syncing everything into a unified whole.

With every deliberate thrust, I felt the bond between the four of us solidify, snapping into place like a magnetic lock.

It was quiet. It was certain. It was everything.

Cillian’s thrusts deepened, each one a slow, deliberate claim.

He wasn't trying to break me open like the others; he was syncing with me.

Finding a shared resonance. With Tuck, I had been consumed by a wildfire.

With Bram, I had been the sacred text he finally allowed himself to read.

With Cillian, I was a signal he was bringing into perfect, harmonious alignment.

His free hand moved, fingers tracing wave-like motions over my skin and I realized he was drawing his tattoo on me.

He was replicating the external map of his life’s work while he was inside me, completing it.

The pressure inside me built again as he hit the perfect spot with each delicious thrust making a slow, smooth climb with each of his perfectly timed and aimed thrusts.

“I’m here, Iz,” he whispered, his voice a low hum against my neck. “Your Alpha is here with you.” He bit me then, marking me the same way Tuck had that first time and it sent me over the edge.

My body arched on a silent crest. There was no desperate cry, no broken whimper.

It was a clean, powerful wave of release that rolled through me, a pure signal of completion.

I felt him follow me over the edge, his body going rigid behind me, a sharp hiss of breath the only sound he made.

He buried his face in my hair, his own quiet climax a final, locking click in the mechanism of us.

He withdrew slowly, the space he left behind feeling not empty, but settled. He curled his body around mine, his arm draping over Tuck’s, his hand resting on Bram’s shoulder. One unbroken circuit of limbs and breath and scent.

The four of us, tangled in a nest of our own making. The world outside, with its lawyers and its contracts, was a distant, irrelevant noise. In the quiet of my bedroom, surrounded by my Alphas, the only sound was the steady, unified beat of a pack finally, completely, formed.
