Chapter One

Jamie

“Can we have another bottle, please? In fact, make it two!” I called over the club’s thumping bass line to the passing attendant who’d been looking after us all evening.

He was slim and pretty with soft lips and long eyelashes that he batted at me over the heads of my guests as he acknowledged my request. I didn’t even need to tell him what bottles I wanted since we’d been drinking the same extravagantly priced champagne since we’d arrived several hours ago.

I wasn’t even sure how much each bottle cost. I was sure I’d find out when I examined my bank balance in a few days or when my father’s accountant rang up to berate me and threaten to cut me off from my trust fund yet again.

We were only three weeks into the new year, and he’d already called me seven times. It might be a new record.

Hedonism, thy name was Jamie Stone.

“Oh my God, Jamie, you are the best,” Daisy said, hanging on my arm and giggling, her jewellery glittering in the low light. “You always know how to have fun.”

“Of course,” I said, giving her my most charming smile. “I don’t want my life to be boring.”

She laughed again and kissed my cheek before getting up and grabbing the hand of one of the other girls clustered on the low, plush seats around our table, dragging her across to the club’s small but crowded dance floor.

I’d known Daisy for years because our fathers ran in the same circles, so we’d always met at the same parties, dinners, and later, clubs. Once upon a time, she’d tried to get me into bed and been utterly despondent when I’d told her she was very pretty, but I didn’t swing that way.

Her boyfriend on the other hand…

He’d been giving me eyes all evening and had put his hand on my thigh at least twice.

It was tempting, but I’d never cross that line.

Instead, I’d tell Daisy tomorrow, when we were sober, and sit through the inevitable fallout.

It wasn’t the first time this had happened, and it wouldn’t be the last. I didn’t know where Daisy found these pricks, but she seemed to attract a never-ending stream of them.

Daisy could do better. But then again, I wasn’t exactly one to talk since my little black book was a veritable who’s who of London’s queer men.

I watched Daisy for a moment as she was joined by more of the girls. I was pleased she was having fun. The club was packed like it always was on a Friday night, and the floor pulsed to the sound of drum and bass as the city’s rich and famous partied in absolute exclusivity.

“Did I hear you order two?” I turned my head to see Kai, my on-and-off fuck buddy, sliding onto the seat next to me.

He was a head taller than me with artfully styled dark hair and plush lips that looked so good stretched around a cock.

He was dressed in a white t-shirt so tight it was almost see-through and dark trousers that clung to his thighs.

I knew he wouldn’t be wearing anything underneath them, and my dick throbbed in delight.

“You did,” I said as Kai put his hand on my thigh and slowly dragged it upwards. “I thought we’d need it.”

“You have the best ideas.” He leant in close and brushed his lips against my neck, making me shiver. “What are your plans for the rest of the night?”

“I’m not sure. Do you have any ideas?”

Kai chuckled softly, and I grinned. “Always, darling. Always.”

The attendant chose that moment to arrive with the two magnums of champagne, setting them down carefully in their ice buckets, the labels tilted outward so everyone could see what I’d ordered.

There were fresh glasses too, although I doubted we’d need them.

Kai and I would probably just drink from the bottle.

“Can I get you anything else?” the attendant asked, his eyes roaming over Kai and me. His beautiful smile had to be practised for better tips, or he really wanted to squeeze in between us. Either way it was working.

“That depends,” Kai said, looking up and smirking. I knew that look well. It always ended in a good time, and a little shiver ran across my skin. “What are you offering?”

I’d expected the other man to blush or stammer, but clearly there was more spark hiding under his twinky features.

His practised smile melted into something infinitely more devious as he stepped closer and lowered his voice.

“Do you want to see a menu? Or I can give you some personal recommendations?”

“Are you on the menu?” Kai asked, never one for subtlety. Not that he needed it. If there was something Kai wanted, he got it. Money was very rarely an issue, and if it wasn’t about money, then Kai’s charm got him the rest of the way.

We both played the same game. It was probably why we’d never work together long-term. The sex between us was off the charts, but I’d always gotten the feeling everything else between us would be a competition. One of decadence and grandeur and poor choices.

It was the story of my life.

And it was starting to get tedious.

“I might be,” the man said. “But you’d have to wait until I finish my shift.”

“And when will that be?”

“Another hour. Think you can wait that long?”

“Of course, darling. Come and find us when you’re done,” Kai said. “Jamie and I will show you a good time. Won’t we, Jamie?”

“Absolutely,” I said, not realising what I was agreeing to until after I’d said it. I didn’t even realise I’d switched off and shook my head, trying to dislodge the strange feeling gnawing at the edge of my mind. Since when had I found any of this boring? This was my life.

It was one most people could only dream of.

And yet…

I shook my head again and watched the attendant walk away, letting my eyes rest on the curve of his ass.

God, he was going to look pretty underneath me later.

I reached for one of the bottles and two glasses, pouring one for Kai and another for myself.

I’d save the rest of the bottle for later.

We could take it home with us and spoil our toy for the night with it.

The rest of the people still around our table could have the other one.

They were all partying on my money anyway, so they could take it and be grateful.

I didn’t even know who half of them were, although that was pretty par for the course.

I invited friends, and they invited friends, and soon there were twenty or thirty of us.

All rich. All young. All beautiful.

All having the time of our lives. Supposedly at least.

I frowned and sipped my champagne. When had hedonism lost its lustre?

“What’s wrong?” Kai asked, sliding closer until he was practically sitting in my lap. “Are you unhappy with my plans? Did you want someone else?”

“No, it’s not that,” I said, drawing him in for a kiss and hoping it would make me forget the strange feeling now accumulating in my chest. It felt like someone was slowly trying to squeeze all the air out of my lungs.

“I was just thinking about later… how it might work… what I want to do to you and him…”

Kai moaned softly, swinging his leg across my thigh until he was straddling me.

He plucked the champagne glass from my hand and set both down on the arm of the small sofa we’d been cuddled up on, smirking at me with wide, hungry eyes that glittered like gems. Nobody seemed to care that he sat on me, and if they did, I knew they wouldn’t say anything.

It wasn’t like we were going to start fucking in public. This was just what Kai liked to do.

He wanted to show everyone that he was mine, and I was his. At least for the night.

It was almost ridiculous, considering how little I knew he’d care about me tomorrow. But it was like he wanted to make someone, anyone, who might be watching jealous.

My hand slid up his thigh to grip his hip, and I suddenly wondered whether it would just be easier to walk away.

To leave Kai and the beautiful attendant there to have their fun and go home to pour myself into bed.

Or even into a deep bath where I could soak away my troubles surrounded by Elemis candles with my magnum of champagne.

God, that made me sound so fucking… boring.

What the hell was wrong with me?

“You look like you’re thinking pretty hard,” Kai said as he ran his finger across my jaw. “Do you need a distraction?”

I grinned. I knew what Kai meant by a distraction. “I thought you wanted to wait?”

“He’s going to be an hour.” Kai rolled his eyes.

“And it’ll be longer by the time we get him home.

You look like you need something now.” He leant down, his lips brushing my ear.

“Don’t worry, I know you’ll be good for later too.

And I’m so fucking desperate, darling, that if I don’t get off soon, I’ll be fucking you in this seat. ”

I chuckled, tightening my grip on his hip. “I don’t think everyone wants to see that.”

“They might.”

“True,” I said, looking up at Kai’s wicked smile. “But I don’t want them to. I only share when I want to, and I don’t fancy sharing you with every man here.”

“Mmm, I like it when you’re possessive. It’s really fucking hot.

” Kai groaned, grinding down on my lap. “Shall we find somewhere more private, then? You can fuck me now and get me all wet and sloppy for later. Then you can fuck me again at yours while I fuck our guest. Or maybe you can fuck both of us. Mmm, you should fuck me first while I’m inside him, then I want to watch you fill him up afterwards so I can taste you on him. ”

I groaned, all my earlier feelings swept away by a wave of lust. Kai’s lips met mine in a deliciously deep kiss as he ground into my lap.

“Toilets,” I growled out. “Now.”

Kai hopped off my lap and held out his hand. “See, Jamie? You really do have the best ideas.”

I woke surrounded by heat with a pounding head.
