CHAPTER 7
PAISLEY JACOBS
Angelina
I have never felt so free but so lost at the same time. My
entire life was dictated by my father; I don ’ t know who I am
without someone controlling everything I do and am. I won’t sit
around any longer, or this will become a pity party for one. I put my
makeup on heavy enough to hide the bruises forming. I throw on
jeans and a tee and meet my friends for dinner at a pasta restaurant
near the hotel. As soon as they see me, they ’ re beaming and look
relieved to see I’m alive.
“ Ahh, how does it feel to be a free woman! ” Rosie screams.
“ Oh my gosh, Angelina we are so going out tonight to
celebrate, ” Gia chimes in while jumping up and down and clapping
her hands.
“ Well, duh! ” I say while going in for a hug with them both.
