Chapter 13 Lies and Letting Go

I stormed off cursing under my breath.

Xie Sinian chased after me.

There was still a faint smell of alcohol on him. He must have rushed straight here from a business dinner.

So desperate about Shen Chuxue.

I pressed the spot over my heart and ordered myself not to overthink.

Xie Sinian and Shen Chuxue will end up together sooner or later.

There’s no point in me stopping it.

Last time after I mentioned divorce, he asked why.

I said I was bored of playing.

I said I didn’t want to keep a pretty boy and get laughed at.

When I left, his bangs covered his eyes. It looked like he was about to cry.

He kept murmuring, “Wait for me.”

“Wait for me.”

Then he disappeared.

I heard he’s been busy building his own career.

Of course. While he’s still the Shen family son-in-law, using connections to climb back up fast is more important than anything.

Otherwise how will he get revenge on me later?

I won’t delude myself into thinking he wants me to wait.

What he really means in his heart is probably asking his White Moonlight to wait until he succeeds, then divorce me.

I slowly pulled my hand away, looked at him sincerely, then slowly bowed in apology.

“I’m sorry, Xie Sinian. I pestered you for so long and caused you trouble.

“In high school I drugged you. In college I publicly claimed you in your class. After your family went bankrupt I threatened your parents to force you to marry me.

“You must have been really troubled, right?

“It won’t happen again.

“Pick a time and we’ll go handle the paperwork.”

All I can do now is set him free.

Let him be with the person he loves sooner.

Without me in his life, he’ll definitely be very happy.
