Chapter Twenty-Two

“C an I take these for you?” Hunter’s voice pulled Taylynn’s attention from Raven and the scene she’d watched off and on since it started with two Angels and one of the mamas.

“Yeah, I’m done,” she said. “Thank you for that. It was excellent and exactly what I was looking for.”

“No problem. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Can I get you fresh drinks while I’m here?”

“Just water please,” she said.

“Same for me,” Raven put in.

Hunter pulled two bottles from the cooler and set them in front of them before taking her plate, as well as Raven’s, and carrying them into the kitchen.

She’d been sitting there, thinking about Raven and what he’d shown her or rather had her feel earlier. That he wanted her. She still had a hard time wrapping her mind around that. Not that she didn’t want anything, but she’d thought that knowing what she’d been to the Demons, that he wouldn’t want her. He’d seen all her wounds, some of which were scars now. To think he still wanted her, wanted to touch her, knowing what she’d done, and how she’d been used, was still a surprise to her.

Was she ready for something like that? Yeah, she’d been thinking about him, wondering what it would be like if he touched her, if he were interested in her, but now that she knew he was, was she ready? Was she willing to try? If he was willing to try with her, to be understanding, she thought she was.

She slid off the stool, landing on her feet she reached for her water then turned to Raven, picked up his hand off the bar and tugged at it.

“What’s up, little one?”

She licked her lips, swallowed past the lump that had formed in her throat and looked up at him. “I thought you might like to go in the other room and do something about that thing you showed me earlier.” She glanced down at his jeans, then away, wondering if he’d understand or if she needed to be more obvious.

“Only if you want to.”

She took a deep breath and looked up at him. “I’d like to try.”

He slid off his stool and followed. She led him down the hall but stopped outside her bedroom door.

“I don’t have any condoms. And after everything, I don’t know if I’m safe.”

“Give me just a sec.” He went to the closet down the hall where she knew bedding was kept, opened the door and grabbed something, then came back to where she still stood waiting for him. “We’re all set now.” He opened his hand to show her a handful of condoms in what looked like a variety of colors and possibly flavors, too, but she didn’t look that close. Instead, she opened the door and pushed inside, grabbing a fist full of his t-shirt and pulling him in with her.

“Can I kiss you?” he asked as soon as they were in the room, the door still swinging shut where he’d kicked it shut.

She stretched up, hooking an arm around his neck to pull him down and brushed her lips across his.

“Sweet Jesus.” He covered her mouth in a searing kiss that made her toes curl, and her mind go blank. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d been kissed like that, if ever.

Taylynn lost track of time. Everything seemed to disappear but the two of them. The sounds of the party starting to ramp up, the knowledge of at least a dozen men on the other side of that door, the clubhouse, the rest of the club. All that mattered was the two of them, right here, right now.

His tongue tangled with hers, his hand cupping the back of her head as he angled her face so he could get a better taste of her. She pulled away the arm she’d hooked around his neck and smoothed her hand along his face, cupping his jaw for a moment before continuing to trail it down his neck and torso until she reached the waistband of his jeans.

She tugged at his shirt, needing to feel his skin against hers. She needed to feel his strength, his control.

She didn’t know how long they’d been standing there, his back against her bedroom door when he lifted his head and stared down at her for what seemed like minutes but was likely no longer than a few seconds.

“Little one, I want to do this right.” Raven’s voice had gone even deeper than normal, and husky with desire.

“You’re doing fine so far.” She tried to stretch up and resume kissing him, but he shook his head.

“Not yet. There are things I need to say.”

The serious look on his face, despite the way his hands on her hips held her close enough to feel his erection pressing into her belly told her he was determined to get this out. Seeing she wasn’t going to convince him to get on with it, she dropped down onto the flat of her feet and looked up at him, waiting.

“I want to do this right. I want you to be sure this is what you want, not just what you think I expect.” He lifted one hand and smoothed the back of his fingers along her cheek. “I want to make sure it’s as good for you as it is for me, if not better. You’re in charge, little one. You don’t like something, I want you to say so. If something isn’t working for you or is bringing back memories, don’t ignore it. All it will take will be one word from you. I’ll stop everything, no hard feelings.”

“Something sure feels hard.” She bumped her belly against him, knowing she was hitting where his cock strained against his jeans.

He scowled at her. That one simple expression trying to tell her he was being serious and didn’t appreciate her flippancy. “Be serious with me, little one, just for a minute. This is important.” His gaze seemed to bore into hers.

“All right.” She sobered. “I get what you’re saying and I appreciate it. I don’t know how I’ll react until I’m in the moment, but if I have anything that bothers me, I’ll let you know.”

“Promise?” His gaze never left hers.

She stared back for a few seconds, wondering if he was too good to be true. “Promise.”

“Good. I can’t wait to see how you taste.” He used both hands on her ass to pick her up and carry her to the bed.

Taylynn couldn’t help the laughter that bubbled out of her. She didn’t think anyone had ever been like this, so eager to pay attention to her, to make her feel good, that they carried her. Or at least that they cared about how she felt while they carried her. There had been several times— No. She cut off that line of thinking before it could go any farther.

That was then. That was before and she wasn’t there now. She was here. With Raven standing in front of her, devouring her with his eyes. That was what mattered. This moment and the man in front of her was all that mattered.

“You still with me, little one?” His voice was tender.

“I’m here. My mind tried to take off with me, but it wasn’t anything you did. Just my brain being its usual ornery self.” She grabbed the hem of her shirt and peeled it over her head, hoping that revealing that she wore nothing under the shirt would take his mind back where she wanted it. To remind him what he’d been about to do.

“You are beautiful, little one.” He dropped to his knees, cupped one breast and lifted it to his lips.

Heat raced through her. Her back bowed, pressing closer to him and silently begging for more. Ready to get things moving again, she grabbed a fist full of his t-shirt and dragged him with her as she backed up until her legs hit the edge of her bed.

“I’m ready for this,” she whispered against his lips before stretching up to brush her mouth across his. She wondered what it would take to get him back to where he’d been before her little moment. He’d said something about her taste, and she couldn’t help but wonder if he meant what she thought. No one had ever done that to her before and she didn’t know if she’d like it. “What did you mean by can’t wait to taste me?” She hoped the simple question would put his mind back where she wanted it.

He scowled for a moment then his eyes went wide as it dawned on him what she meant.

“No worries, little one. I’ll show you.” His hand went to the waistband of her jeans. “You ready to get rid of these?”

Taylynn didn’t hesitate to drop her hands in order to unbutton her jeans and shove them off her hips, taking her underwear with them. Everything he’d done so far had felt amazing and she couldn’t wait to find out if this was all it was hyped to be.

“Little one,” Raven chuckled. “You need to take your boots of before the jeans or they’ll never come off. Here, sit down and I’ll take care of them for you.” He eased her down onto the edge of the bed, then sat on his heels and lifted one foot. Resting it on his leg, he made short work of undoing her laces and pulling it off her foot. Setting that aside, he repeated the process with her other boot, then, tugging on the hems of both legs at the same time, pulled her pants off and tossed them to the side. He braced his hands on the bed on either side of her hips, then went to his knees and looked up her body, meeting her gaze.

“Remember, you can stop me any time by just saying no. I don’t want to scare or hurt you in anyway. Got it?” He waited for her to nod, then continued. “Lay back. I’ve been wanting to do this forever.”

Butterflies seemed to flutter in her stomach as she wasn’t sure what was going to happen, but she did as he asked. Leaning back onto the bed, propping herself up on her elbows so she could watch him. Not because she didn’t trust him, but because she wanted to see it.

“Relax, little one, you’re going to like this.”
