Chapter Sixteen
Hawk
What kind of spell has she cast on me? -Hawk
I creep out of bed, trying not to wake my beautiful girl. God, she’s so fuckin’ magical laid out on my bed like this. Her red curls are spread out on the pillow and there’s a peaceful look on her pixie face. She even has freckles that make me want to trace them running across her cheeks.
Last night. God, last night. It was incredible.
My body heats at the thought of her body beneath mine writhing in pleasure.
And then riding me with those thick hips, my bruising grip holding her in place.
Then spanking her smooth skin. Fuck, I hope I put my marks on her.
I hope she felt the same kind of sparks I did.
It was more than just the amazing sex. It was the conversation. Actually talking to someone about my past. I felt comfortable with her in a way I hadn’t with a woman ever. She watched me with an open expression that said she would accept me the way I was.
I study my scruffy appearance in the bathroom mirror. I need a shave, desperately, at least to clean up this beard. It’s longer than I realized. I look like some kind of lumberjack on steroids. Maggie must have a hell of a beard burn. That causes me to grin in satisfaction. Fuck, I’m gone for her.
The fall morning air is crisp, and it’s barely dawn as I shrug on my leather jacket and open the front door.
Deadeye is waiting, as expected, right in front of my building.
I spoke with him only a few hours ago, while Maggie slept in between bouts of lovemaking.
Club business can’t wait, even for my own personal needs.
I’m hoping to get back before she even wakes.
The note I left on my pillow said as much.
“Mornin’,” he mutters gruffly, and I nod back. I cast one last longing glance towards the window of the room upstairs where Maggie sleeps. What I wouldn’t give to be back up there with her.
“Missing somethin’?” Deadeye asks with a sardonic grin. His ice blue eyes twinkle with amusement at my lovelorn expression.
I shrug. “Let’s get it done, brother,” I say right before revving my engine. I’m ready to get these guys and get back to my girl.
Crash and Jinx are a couple of idiots but they’re back to making threats against the Savage Kings.
It’s time to get to work and defend our turf.
It will only require a little physical persuasion to get them to leave for good.
The law may be good for some things, but sometimes for goons like these it’s best to just take them out and show them the consequences.
My lips curl up into a snarl. Consequences. That’s one way of putting it.
