Chapter 18

Chapter Eighteen

BONTE

Both Eros and Binx are sitting on the bed watching me. I pretend not to notice and click away on my computer to see what assignments I’m behind on. I’d won Eros over, and he’s letting me go back to school.

The letting me part should piss me off, but I’m finding when Eros does something I should get pissed about, I don’t, for the most part. I’m learning that he always has my best interests in mind.

The man may not appear caring, but he is. At least with me, anyway. Over the past few days when we did emerge from his room, I got to see him in action with his family. He’s more quiet and reserved compared to them. I’d actually say he’s the most intense.

When it’s only him and me, he softens more.

I don’t think I’m the only one that’s noticed because I’ve caught a few family members observing us.

I’ve seen how their brows rise when Eros showed me affection.

I can get full conversations out of him instead of his normal straight to the point questions and responses.

It’s rather interesting to see. I’m not sure what to fully make of it, but the truth is, I enjoy that there is a side to this man that is only mine. That, I’m sure, is a huge part of why I think a lot of things with him don’t bother me. Plus, the orgasms are killer.

"Why are your cheeks flushing?" He leans over to get a glimpse of my screen. I check the time, knowing I need to get ready, but when I woke up this morning, it hit me that I should see how behind I really am.

"You think I'm watching porn over here?" I tease, feeling my cheeks warm because I'm thinking about the orgasms he gives me. He’d given me one not even twenty minutes ago. It’s a helluva way to wake up.

“You watch porn?”

“No,” I laugh, shaking my head. “Well, I’ve seen it. I mean, who hasn’t?” Nah, I stick to the dirty books.

“I don’t think I care for that.”

“I can tell from your expression.” I laugh more. Eros’s expressions aren't often expressive. He can easily mask them, but when he does give one here and there, they always make me smile because it’s as if his face has conflicting thoughts, and it shows.

"You only need to look at my dick."

"Got it. I can only see Eros's dick." I shut my laptop.

"But what if there is an accident? I could mistakenly walk into the boys’ locker room.

" Eros actually reels back, and I know that was the wrong thing to say.

I'm trying to go back to school. "Not that I ever have!

" I'm quick to correct. "On accident, at least." He lunges for me.

I try to dodge him by rolling to the other side of the bed, but it's pointless. Before I know it, I'm pinned under him.

"Why did you go into the boys’ locker room?"

"Grant Richardson." His hold tightens. I wrap my legs around him. The only thing I have on at the moment is his shirt. I snagged it off the floor when I grabbed my laptop. My sex presses against his abs. He’s so much bigger than I am.

"Is a dead man."

I bite back a smile. "He is a dickhead," I admit. "He is a jackass and super into himself. Grant is always trying to bulk up," I tell him. "Who needs all those muscles? I feel like it gets to a point of overkill."

"Oh, there'll be overkill." Eros's face is dead-ass serious.

"If you want to get a person like Grant, you have to get at their ego, so I started slipping into the locker room and replacing his uniform polo with larger ones so he'd think he was shrinking and not bulking.

" Eros's lips twitch. "It was silly and petty, but it made me feel good.

I could tell it irked him. I did it three times and made sure to make comments to him asking if he'd lost weight. "

"How'd he take that?"

"He'd get all pissy and then was convinced I put a curse on him." I roll my eyes. The curse must not have bothered him much because he’s still a dick.

"A curse?"

"Some think I'm a witch. I might lean into it a bit more than I should. It makes people steer clear of me, and I’m all about that. I want to give off that vibe.” I have taught myself to keep people at arm's length. It’s best for them that way.

"Wouldn't make me steer clear of you.”

“I don’t think there is anything that would do that.” Eros isn’t letting me go. If I wanted to be free of him, he'd have to be six feet under. That’s such a morbid thought, but it turns me on. I might not be right in the head myself.

“It’s good you’ve come to terms with this.” Again, his expression gives nothing away, but I know he’s dead serious. I lift up to press my mouth to his. Eros quickly dips in. When things start to get heated, the alarm on the new phone Eros got for me starts to go off. I break this kiss.

“I need to get ready.”

“Fine.” He huffs, rolling off of me. I sit up as he leans against the headboard, watching me.

“You really don’t want me to go to school, do you?” Why am I starting to have guilt over it now? I thought he was coming around to it when he made sure I’d have everything I needed to do so.

“It might be good for me.” His jaw clenches. Not sure his teeth would agree if he keeps clenching them.

“Why do you say that?” I ask, getting up from the bed. He’s now stretched out across it with his hands behind his head, his ankles crossed, appearing relaxed, but I know he’s not.

“I can’t keep you under lock and key?”

I lift a brow. “Was that a question or statement?”

“Whichever pleases you more.” I snort a laugh, heading into the closet to get dressed.

Eros and I had hung up all the stuff he’d gotten from my condo which did include my extra school uniforms. While we put everything away, Eros filled me in a little more on how things work around here.

Eros told me his parents had built this place years back on the Marino estate.

They made sure each room was a suite so that one day when him and his siblings had families, they’d feel welcome to still stay here for a holiday or if the occasion called for it.

For a family that people think is ruthless, it’s clear they aren’t that way to each other.

“Hellcat,” Eros says as I exit the closet, running a hand down his face.

“What?” I glance down at myself. I’m wearing my mandatory white polo and pleated skirt. I’m not big on having bare legs all day. The school can have a chill to it at times, so I wear black pantyhose that have a fishnet pattern with my boots. “When we met, I was wearing this,” I remind him.

“I know. I know.” I roll my eyes at him and head into the bathroom to finish getting ready. I only do light makeup—well, light for me—eyeliner with a dark smoky eye paired with a deep purple tinted lip stain before pinning part of my hair to one side.

When I step back out, I expect another remark about my style, and I’m not wrong. Eros got dressed while I was in the bathroom. He makes his way over to me. His arm wraps around my waist, and he lifts me easily off my feet to bring me eye level with him.

“How do you always manage to be so beautiful?” Beautiful sounds so soft and far beyond pretty. It’s not really a word I would have thought anyone would ever think when they saw me. Eros, however, sees me in ways I can’t begin to understand or even see myself.

“You’re not so bad yourself, handsome.” I rest my hands on his shoulders. “You ever think you’d be giving a girl pretty words, Romeo?”

“No.” He gives a slight shake of his head. “I also didn’t think I’d share a bed with anyone, let alone somehow always wake up wrapped around them.”

“You are a cuddle bug.” I snort a laugh. “Now, I bet you never thought anyone would call you that.”

“I find with you, my rules are different and to always expect the unexpected when it comes to how I’m going to feel or react.”

“Interesting. Should I know these rules?”

“No.”

“No?”

“I think you might try to break them, Hellcat. I’m not giving you a target.

” I throw my head back and laugh. Yeah, that’s another thing I would have never thought when it came to Eros and that day I met him down in the hole.

That he would always make me laugh. He is funny when he’s not trying to be, which only makes it that much more funny.

A knock sounds at the door. "Don't say fuck off," I tell Eros before he can.

"Come in," I call out. The door opens, and Damon is standing there with Jax and Kinsley behind him.

"Thought I went to the wrong door," Damon says. "I heard laughter."

"Fuck off," Eros tells him as he puts me back down on my feet. I giggle.

"We came to get your girl. Need to head out soon."

"She hasn't eaten, and I can take her."

"Last night you said—"

Eros cuts Jax off. "I changed my mind."

"I want to walk in with Kinsley." I drop my head back so I can stare up at him. I know this is not what he wants to hear, but I don’t need the attention on me at school. I know damn well if Eros takes me that all eyes will be on me.

"I don't like this." He takes a deep breath.

"I know, but I love that you'll do it for me."

"That's not fair; you know there isn't much I wouldn't do for you."

"Oh, can I get that list?" I raise my brow in question.

"What am I going to do with you, Hellcat?"

"Let me go to school with Kinsley?" I know from the clenching of his jaw I'll be getting what I asked for.

"I'll pick you up."

"Deal." I lift up on my toes, offering him my mouth. He greedily takes it, just like he does with everything when it comes to me. I can't say I hate it. In fact, I'm pretty sure I love it.
