Chapter 10

“Shit,” Noble hissed as he held my waist.

I rode his dick like my life depended on it. The reverse cowgirl position had become our favorite. He enjoyed watching my ass move against his dick while I found the perfect angles to cum repeatedly.

Since we’d returned from Costa Rica, things had been better than ever.

His injuries had fully healed, his bruises were gone, and our relationship prospered.

We couldn’t seem to keep our hands off of each other either.

This morning alone, I was on orgasm number six or seven.

I didn’t know pregnancy hormones would have my sex drive this damn high, but I damn sure wasn’t complaining.

“Where do you want it?” he asked. Noble’s toes curled.

“Wherever you want.” I continued to pound my pussy up and down his length until he jolted upward and released his warm cum between my ass cheeks.

The power of his orgasm influenced me to release my juices as well.

We sat in the mess for a few moments, both of us catching our breaths.

Then we went into the bathroom to shower together.

After our shower, I stood in the full-length mirror and admired my body.

Either Noble was slow or very respectful about my appearance, because he never commented on the roundness of my belly or the additional weight I’d gained since he’d been back.

When he first got back, it was easy to hide the belly in oversized shirts and sundresses.

Now, it was noticeable in everything I wore.

Either way, it was time to tell him in the most dramatic way possible.

“Noble, can you go get us some breakfast, please?” I asked as I walked back into the bedroom. He’d pulled on some sweatpants and a T-shirt with a pair of designer slides.

“What do you want?”

“An eight-piece hot honey wing combo with cheese fries and a Sprite.”

“For breakfast?” he quizzed.

“Yes, please.” I snaked my arms around his firm midsection and craned my neck up to look at him.

“I’ll see what I can do. Is there anything else you need while I’m out?” he asked as he slid his hands down my back and cupped my ass.

“Nope. I’m going to order groceries later. Whatever I need will just go on that list.”

“Cool. I’ll be right back.” He kissed my lips, then my forehead, and headed out of the room.

“Be safe. I love you!” I called out to his retreating body as I followed him down the stairs.

“I love you too.” He opened the front door and headed out.

Once I heard the car door close, I went into the empty room and opened the closet with all the decorations I’d bought.

There were balloons, streamers, and a blown-up image of the ultrasound I’d taken a few days ago when I told him I was going to get a pedicure.

I hated lying to my man, but I needed to make sure everything was okay in my womb.

I also wanted nothing to ruin the surprise.

“I need some music to make this go faster,” I said aloud as I jogged across the hall to grab the Bluetooth speaker. After I connected my phone, I blasted my music on shuffle. I propped my phone up in the corner of the room to record the process.

I pinned the balloons, hung the streamers, and placed the poster board against the wall.

Then I pulled the wooden basket into the center of the room that had both pregnancy tests, a smaller copy of the ultrasound, and a fitted white T-shirt that said “Protector. Lover. Father.” in bold black lettering.

A smile tugged at my lips as I admired my work.

“Bae, I’m back.”

“Here I come!” I closed the door to the room and skipped down the stairs. The smell of the wings had my mouth watering with excitement.

Noble had set up the living room with our orders and turned on a movie as I sat down. We said grace and dug into the food. I damn near nutted as the delicious sauce touched my tastebuds.

“Would you still love me if I was a chicken wing?” I asked as I dipped the flat into the ranch.

Noble looked at me with a frown on his face. “What?”

“Would you still love me if I was a chicken wing?” I repeated.

“Are you a full wing, a flat, or a drum?” he replied.

“Boy, fuck you. It shouldn’t matter what piece I am. You’re supposed to just say yes.”

“Nah. If you’re a chicken wing, I need to make sure you come with the flat, drum, and tip attached. What am I supposed to do with just a wing? I’m a big guy. I need you to be the whole chicken.”

“Noble, you’re finna piss me off.” I rolled my eyes.

“You’re mad because I’m playing along.”

“I’m not mad at all, noodle head.”

“Good.” He had the nerve to smirk.

While a comfortable silence filled the air, I finished my food and gulped down my Sprite. I stood and gathered our trash to throw away. When I got back to the living room, my nerves got the best of me.

What if Noble didn’t actually want kids? It was one thing to play about it during sex. It was another thing to actually have the opportunity come around. Would he love me and our baby unconditionally?

“What’s on your mind?” he asked as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

My gaze lifted to his soft brown eyes. “I have something to show you, but I got nervous.”

“Don’t be nervous. There’s nothing you can show me that will change how I feel about you. I promise.”

His words reassured me. My lips pulled into a small smile as I pulled him up the stairs to the room where the setup was.

“Behind this door is something that will change our dynamic forever,” I prefaced. I held my phone in my hand and pressed the record button as he pushed open the door and looked inside. He squatted in front of the basket and pulled out the pregnancy tests first. He was silent for a long moment.

“Sunni . . .” His tone was breathless as he turned to look at me with a grin that rivaled the stars in the sky.

“Yeah.”

“I knew it. I fucking knew it. We’re having a baby. You’re having my baby.” He continued to repeat his words as he pulled me close and kissed my stomach. I stopped recording and put my phone in the pocket of my robe.

“I found out the day you came back. I didn’t want to add to your stress until you healed.

Plus, I didn’t want to tell you until I had my first checkup so I could answer your questions.

I haven’t told anybody yet. I kind of just been holding it in.

Although Giselle suspects I’m pregnant. She’s the reason I put two and two together. We were really out here just—”

“Bae, you’re rambling.” Noble stood up and pulled me into a gentle kiss. He pecked my lips repeatedly.

“You’re excited?” I inquired.

He laughed. “Excited isn’t even the word. When are you due? Do you know if we’re having a boy or a girl—wait?” He took a step back.

“What?”

“You went to your doctor’s appointment without me. I should bend you over my knee and spank you for doing that.”

“I’m not opposed to being spanked, but like I said, you had a lot going on.”

He shook his head. “From this day forth, you bet not do a damn thing without me by your side. You hear me?”

“Loud and clear, baby.”

He lifted me up, and I instinctively wrapped my legs around his body. He led me across the hall to my room and set me on the edge of the bed.

“What are you doing?” I asked as I leaned back on my elbows to look at him.

“You’re finna be off your feet for the rest of this pregnancy and your postpartum phase. Fuck you thought this was?”

“Noble, please, be for real.”

“Sunni, you’ve done too damn much already. Your ass is clumsy, and I don’t need you moving too much and hurting yourself or my baby.”

I laughed. “So what? You’re finna be my personal servant?”

“I’m finna be your doting and loving husband.”

“No ring on my finger.” I waved my hand in the air.

“That can change today.”

I raised an eyebrow. “Yeah?”

“We can go to the jeweler and get your wedding ring right now and hit up one of those twenty-four-hour chapels.”

I scrunched my nose. “I know I play a lot, but I want my first marriage to be my only marriage. I also want it to be magical. I don’t want to rush into it because we’re having a baby. I want to plan it so it’s a day neither of us will ever forget.”

He nodded. “I got you.”

Noble kneeled down and rubbed my feet. I closed my eyes and let a moan escape my lips. I basked in the feel of his fingers kneading against the sole of my foot.

“You didn’t answer my questions earlier.”

“I don’t know the gender. They said we should be able to find out at the next appointment.

All I know is that the baby is the size of an avocado.

She says the measurements are putting me at the start of the second trimester, .

. . so according to my calendar, we made this little nugget the day you left. ”

“I knew that time was the time it would happen. I could feel it the moment I released in you.” He kissed my toes.

I giggled. “I have a question, though. How do you feel about me making baby content? I want to document the journey and post things on social media.”

“I don’t mind. You’re a social butterfly, and I love the documentary aspect, to have everything in one place for our child to see when they get older.

All I ask is that you don’t post our baby’s face all over the internet.

It’s some sick people out there, and I don’t want to go to jail for killing any weirdos. ”

“I agree one hundred percent. It’ll just be me and the bump. They won’t see more than that, because I’ve watched enough episodes of Law and Order: SVU and Criminal Minds to know what happens on the internet. Protecting our baby is my number one priority as well.”

“We’re about to be parents, for real. This shit is so surreal.”

“You’re going to be the best dad.”

Noble sat up on his knees and looked at me with soft eyes. “You think so?”

“I know so.”
