NATHANIEL

Still a little taken aback by his own forthrightness, closed his hand into Tyler’s. The other man’s grip was firm as he walked them along the water’s edge. After agreeing to ’s request, Tyler had said nothing, walking silently at his side. If it wasn’t for the gentle smile on Tyler’s face, might have wondered what was going on in his head.

Tyler glanced at him. “So, what were you thinking?”

stared at him. “Are you expecting me to give you explicit details of what I have in mind?”

Tyler laughed, and just stared at him. There had always been something about Tyler’s laugh that drew him in. Whether it was the private little chuckle when he wasn’t trying to draw attention to himself or the huge booming laugh whenever he found something too funny to contain. No matter how the sound came out, it was always bright and warm.

“No, I think I can figure out the explicit bits,” Tyler assured him. “I meant, I know we can’t stay at your place, and we can’t at mine because, like hell am I doing anything with Clay and Elliot in the house.”

“Oh,” said, feeling his face warm. “I imagine a hotel room would do us just as well.”

Tyler nodded. “But not one in your name.”

winced. “No, probably not. I know my father is watching my expenses, and I don’t think any hotels are accepting cash anymore.”

“None you want us to stay at,” Tyler said. “Don’t worry, there’s a place not too far from here we can stay. I’ll cover us.”

“Tyler,” began to protest.

Before he could continue, he was pushed against a nearby building. He had a moment to think it was more shower stalls before Tyler’s mouth against his wiped out all conscious thought.

Tyler pressed close, kissing him hungrily. One thick leg came between ’s knees, forcing him to spread them to keep his balance. Pleasure, sharp and hungry, shot through him as he felt Tyler’s large body press him tight against the building, pinning him there. couldn’t help the moan that escaped, torn between the feel of Tyler’s mouth against his, the power of his body, the hardness of it, or the stirring he could feel against his leg from Tyler’s crotch.

“I’ll cover us,” Tyler whispered, slowly breaking the kiss.

“Jesus, God in Heaven,” whispered, feeling a quiver in his legs.

Tyler smiled, kissing the corner of ’s lips. “You and me tonight, remember?”

“Yes, I remember,” managed between shaky breaths.

“Then come on,” Tyler said, stepping back and taking ’s hand.

That little display was more than enough to occupy ’s thoughts as they walked up the beach toward the street. He knew he’d missed a few years of Tyler’s life and development. Of course, he’d thought that development had mostly been physical. Apparently, Tyler had discovered a few more things about himself that had never expected.

Not that he was complaining.

They walked in silence, and it wasn’t until they reached the hotel that realized he’d been holding Tyler’s hand the whole way without a thought. There had been plenty of people to witness them as they walked up the beach and down the street. Yet not once had he considered pulling his hand away, disassociating himself from what was happening. Tyler’s grip had remained firm even as they walked through the double doors, only letting go while talking to the professionally friendly woman at the front desk.

had been terrified for years at displaying even the slightest hint of who he was, who he was attracted to. Ever since his father had learned about ’s attraction to men through an intermediary, it had been the bane of ’s life. Since then, he had been careful to keep that aspect hidden from the world, making sure no one could ever construe something he was doing as being gay.

And yet, without a moment’s hesitation, he had kissed another man in full view of anyone who might have wandered by. Then, he allowed himself to be pinned and subsequently seduced in the next breath, all while allowing himself to be led away, hand in hand.

Tyler glanced at him. “Hey, you think you can wait here to get our room key while I make a detour real quick?”

blinked, jerked from his musing. “Uh, of course. Is something wrong?”

Tyler chuckled. “No, but I figure a stop at the pharmacy next door might be good.”

’s cheeks warmed. “Ah, right.”

And without any pretense or hesitation, Tyler kissed his temple, patted his butt, and walked off. jumped at the gesture, staring after Tyler and wondering if he was supposed to be scandalized or aroused.

He quickly turned to the woman behind the counter. “I apologize.”

She looked up. “For?”

glanced at the doorway where Tyler had just walked out. “Him.”

She gave a soft laugh, tapping away at the computer. “I wouldn’t worry about it too much, sir. I’ve seen far worse things than someone being a little friendly with their boyfriend.”

winced. “I don’t know if I should commiserate with you for having seen worse or point out that we’re friends.”

The woman chuckled. “If a man looked at me like he does you, I wouldn’t want him to stay a friend for long.”

didn’t know what to say, so he allowed the conversation to lapse into silence. She eventually handed him the room key, wishing them both a pleasant night, and turned back to whatever she had been doing before they’d walked in.

stared at the card in his hand and spared a thought for what was about to happen. Oh sure, once upon a time, he and Tyler had almost headed down this same road. But it had been years, and they had only just reconnected. Was it such a good idea to reignite the same thing that had sent 's life into a tailspin? The very same thing that had his father watching him like a hawk, waiting for him inevitably to screw up and make his life even worse?

Before the rabbit hole of dark thought could go any deeper, he heard the double doors of the lobby open. He turned to see Tyler stride in confidently, befitting any of his father’s cocktail parties and business meetings. And when he spotted standing awkwardly near the elevator, his face lit up, and he remembered the receptionist’s words with stunning clarity.

Tyler cocked his head when he reached him. “What?”

shook his head. “Nothing, just thinking.”

Tyler chuckled, the plastic bag around his wrist crinkling as he moved. “Dangerous.”

“Maybe,” agreed. “We’re on the second floor.”

Tyler leaned forward into ’s space as he pressed the call button. “Second floor it is.”

A chime announced the arrival of the elevator, and they slipped inside, pressing the button for the second floor. Tyler stood on one side of the car, and stood on the other, watching each other.

As the doors closed, Tyler cocked his head. “So, I guess I’m going to get the answer to my question.”

“Which one was that?” asked.

“Whether you’re still fond of wearing jockstraps while working out,” Tyler all but purred.

cleared his throat as the car rose. “You certainly have grown... bolder since the last time I knew you.”

Tyler looked down at himself. “What, too big for you?”

chuckled, feeling his face warm again. “Oh, no. Big looks good on you. I was referring more to your newfound attitude.”

“I think it was always there. But it’s a bit like the training Elliot and Clay gave me. I just had to get comfortable,” Tyler said, eyes boring into .

The car slid to a stop, doors opening. “Don’t mistake me. I’m not disapproving.”

“Good,” Tyler said, pushing away from the wall and stepping into the hall.

followed, watching Tyler from behind as they walked down the hallway. He still wasn’t sure if he had just never noticed Tyler's broad and confident gait before or if the man was actually strutting as they approached the door. Much like his comment about Tyler’s size, wouldn’t complain about what he saw.

Pressing the keycard to the lock, Tyler pushed into the room, flipping the light on. Two beds, unnecessary in ’s mind, against the right wall, opposite the desk with a TV on the wall above it. Light streamed through the window, drowned out as Tyler turned on the light.

“Nothing fancy,” Tyler told him.

chuckled as he stepped past him. “As if I need something fancy. Tonight is for us. I don’t need anything else.”

Considering what happened on the beach, he shouldn’t have been surprised when he felt Tyler’s hands on him again. Yet he still gave a soft yelp as he was pressed against the desk. Tyler’s green eyes burned into his as he pressed close, kissing before he could think of what to say.

A small gasp escaped his throat as he had no choice but to sit on the edge of the desk. One of Tyler’s hands stroked down his neck, over his chest, and settled on his hip. For his part, was just as eager to run his hands over Tyler, taking in the bulk of his chest, the solidness of his stomach and, with only a moment’s hesitation, the growing bulge at the front of his shorts.

“Oh,” managed as the length against his fingers grew even more.

Tyler’s fingers slipped beneath the hem of his shirt, pulling it up and over ’s head and tossing it away. His pupils were swollen, almost swallowing the green. His fingers, both rough and yet gentle, roamed over the bare skin he had just revealed, touching and petting eagerly.

“I really don’t think you have to be worried about working out more,” Tyler told him softly.

“Says the man at least twice my size,” grumbled.

Tyler hooked his hands around ’s waist and picked him up. This time, didn’t let out a surprised noise, though he did grip onto Tyler out of reflex. The sheer ease with which he was picked up and swung around was startling and thrilling. His stomach flipped as Tyler dropped him onto the bed, letting him bounce once before placing a hand on his stomach and holding him in place.

“I like your size,” Tyler told him, towering over him.

didn’t share his assessment, but he wasn’t going to argue when he was staring down at him with such intensity. Tyler gripped his own shirt, yanking it over his head and revealing the broad expanse of his body, the sight of which left ’s mouth dry.

Not willing to stay in one place, sat up, running his hands over the hard stretch of Tyler’s stomach. The coarse hair brushed against his palms, and he felt the muscles jump at his touch. He ran his hands over the broad chest and down his sides.

Turning his gaze upward, hooked his finger into the waistband of Tyler’s shorts. Tyler watched him intently, but let his eyes drift down as he pulled at the shorts. A low noise escaped him as the first patch of dark blond hair above Tyler’s groin and then the base of his cock appeared. Throwing all caution and reservation to the wind, he pulled Tyler’s shorts completely free.

“Well,” he managed.

Tyler’s cock wasn’t a monster, but couldn’t imagine anyone would dare to claim it wasn’t impressive. It would certainly be the biggest he’d ever dealt with. He curled his fingers around its girth, stroking down the silky shaft as it hardened in his grip.

“Don’t you dare make a ‘big all-around’ joke,” Tyler warned, though when looked up, he was smirking.

“Wouldn’t dream of it,” said, voice hoarse.

Tyler bent down, kissing him once more as he pushed onto his back. He felt the thickness of Tyler’s cock against his stomach just before Tyler’s weight pressed him into the mattress. Normally, he might have been worried about what someone Tyler’s size would want to do with him, knowing strangers could be kind and gentle or impatient and end up hurting.

But this was Tyler, and felt the knot of worry in his gut ease as Tyler moaned softly in his ear. was more than ready to strip the rest of his clothes off, toss them aside and see what Tyler had in store for him. They had been interrupted once before, and now they had the entire night to themselves. Hell, if he was feeling bold enough, he might even make it a week, his father be damned.

A sharp knock on the door jerked them apart.

“What the hell?” Tyler muttered, frowning.

“Probably housekeeping,” muttered.

Tyler scowled, calling toward the closed door. “We don’t want any housekeeping, thanks!”

A gruff voice responded, muffled by the door. “That’s not what we’re here for, sir.”

frowned as Tyler called back. “Then what the hell do you want?”

patted his side chidingly. “Be nice.”

“We know you have Carter in there with you. And it’s time for him to return home,” the man called through the door.

sighed softly, letting his head flop back onto the bed. Of course, even when he thought he was free and clear, his father found a way to get him. Well, not his father. The more likely scenario was that one of his father’s hired security teams had tracked him down. How that had happened, he didn’t know, but he supposed it didn’t matter.

“Of course,” said, retrieving his clothes.

Tyler stuffed himself back into his pants and motioned for to go around the corner. “Don’t make any noise, and don’t let yourself be seen.”

“What’s the point, Tyler?” he asked, voice soft and bitter.

“Because they can’t prove anything,” Tyler rebutted.

Shaking his head, did as he was told, though he thought it was futile. They had found him despite the fact that he had genuinely believed no one had followed him to meet Tyler. They’d even put the room under Tyler’s name. Everything they could have done, save for fleeing the city, had been done to give them some privacy.

Sitting on the bed, away from the door, he sank down and waited for the inevitable.
