Epilogue

And so it was that La Boulangerie et Patisserie de Compiègne once again became a place of nourishment, belonging and a certain je ne sais quoi.

Pierre Moreau felt a gentle sense of pride in what he had created all of those years ago and was now at peace.

He knew that his legacy was safe in the hands of Manu, Edith and Hugo.

The cobbled streets now whisper with a new story, a romantic story of a young man who found the courage to embrace the life he truly wanted and a young woman who followed the impulse of her heart and filled the bakery not only with hope, but with friendships that blossomed from the seeds she’d sown.

Life on Rue de Paris had changed for everyone who opened their hearts just wide enough to let it. Mysteries, it would seem, are not so complicated, in the end. The magic ingredient was the enduring power of love all along.

And vanillao beans, of course!
