63. Chloe
CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE
CHLOE
NOW
Once I’ve done my business, I get to the most important part of a road trip.
Snacks.
There are a few people milling around as I browse the aisles, picking out my favorite candy and pork rinds for Damon. I swipe a candy bar for Ronan, hoping it’s still his go-to after all these years, and some jerky for Kingston before glancing toward the car.
What does Ryker like?
It hits me that I don’t know him that well, and yet my heart feels like I’ve known him my whole life, as if he’s always been a part of me, even before I knew he existed.
Shaking off the ridiculous thought, I settle for some extra jerky for him and move to the fridges. I need some caffeine, but it’s too warm in the car being pressed between Ryker and Ronan for a hot coffee.
I’m browsing the energy drinks when I feel a hard body press against my back, and a smile tugs at my lips. Of course one of them followed me in here. I don’t think the two of them have ever heard of personal space, and if I’m honest, I don’t mind it.
“Get everything you need, Duchess?” Damon asks against the shell of my ear, sending my heart into overdrive.
Biting down on the inside of my cheek, I force a breath into my lungs. “Just getting a drink, and I’ll be ready,” I reply, hating how my voice trembles at his proximity.
His hands move to rest on my hips, holding me in place so I can’t go anywhere. “Go on then.”
I swallow heavily, because there’s no way I can open the door without pressing myself against his front, and although we’ve found some common ground, I know better than to let myself trust Damon.
He wouldn’t hesitate to betray me if it meant he finally got his throne.
I meet his heated gaze in our reflection, only making my heart kick up another notch.
Why am I so affected by someone who hates me so much?
Reaching for the handle with my free arm, I tug the door open, but as suspected, it’s not enough space to get my hand inside.
Playing into his game, I shuffle back until I’m pressed hard against his chest and the evidence of his need is pressed to my ass.
Knowing he’s not unaffected by me brings the ghost of a smile to my lips as a plan starts to form.
I spot a flavor I’ve tried a couple of times on a lower shelf and tilt my hips as I lean into the fridge to slide it out of its place, pressing my ass into his hardness in the process.
He grunts as the hands on my hips tighten almost to the point of pain.
Glancing over my shoulder with what I hope is an innocent expression, I ask, “You want anything?”
He chuckles. “Oh, I want everything, Duchess. But I don’t think you’re ready for what I want.”
Shrugging, I allow the door to swing closed and turn in his arms, meeting the fire in his usually cold blue eyes. “I guess you don’t know me as well as you think you do, then.”
I’m gone before he has a chance to reach for me, and I can’t help but feel a little smug.
Damon can toy with me all he wants, but I’m just going to toy right back until he snaps.
Back at the car, I hand everyone’s snacks out while we wait for Ryker and Ronan to return from their own restroom runs.
Damon’s back in the passenger seat with his arms crossed over his chest and something between irritation and need radiating off him in waves.
I meet Kingston’s eyes in the rearview mirror, giving him a smirk.
Ronan slides into the seat beside me, picking up the candy bar on his seat and staring at it for long seconds. “This is my favorite.”
“I know.” I smile.
“You remembered.”
“You’re not the only one that spent a decade holding on to every memory of someone, Ro.”
He wraps an arm around my shoulders and tugs me against him, pressing a kiss to my temple that can only be described as reverent. “I’m never letting you go again, Sparrow.”
“Good, because I don’t plan on letting you go either.”
The door on my other side swings open, and Ryker climbs inside, folding himself into the space beside me. The last place someone of his height should be is the back seat, but I suspect he’s not going anywhere that I’m not in arm’s reach, and I’m more than okay with that.
He drops a kiss to my temple as Kingston pulls back onto the highway, and I reach for the Kindle that appeared the day after he kidnapped me.
The car falls silent, the only sound is the same soft music from earlier and the tires on the road as we continue our journey to nowhere.
If we weren’t running for our lives, maybe that thought would be thrilling, but instead there’s a thread of anxiety I can’t seem to shake no matter how many of my breathing exercises I do.
I fall into the story, my cheeks heating every time something filthy happens on page because the men on either side of me are reading over my shoulder shamelessly.
I’m in the middle of an especially spicy scene where two brothers share the female main character when Ryker tugs the blanket from this morning over my lap with the guise of keeping me warm and promptly slips his hand into my yoga pants.
A fresh blush warms my cheeks knowing he’ll find me wet and needy.
“I bought you a present, Siren,” he murmurs against the shell of my ear. “Do you want me to give it to you now?”
My eyes widen, but I find myself nodding. One of these days my own curiosity is going to get me into serious trouble.
He reaches into his pocket, producing something that fits in the palm of his hand, and he slips it beneath the blanket before I can see what it is.
Ronan’s hand on my thigh tightens, making my heart kick up a notch knowing he’s watching every move Ryker makes.
I never thought I’d be turned on by my being watched, having spent so much of my life hiding away from the world, fading into the background at every opportunity. But maybe that’s part of it.
Or maybe you just get off knowing how much these men want you, I think to myself.
Glancing at the front seats, Kingston has both hands on the wheel and his eyes on the road, while Damon uses a laptop Ryker handed to him to do God knows what.
And honestly, I couldn’t care less right now. Not when Ryker drags his gift through my aching sex and presses it inside me without hesitation.
“Please tell me you cleaned that,” Ronan rumbles, his voice drowned out by the hum of the car.
Ryker flicks his attention up to him with an unimpressed glare. “Obviously.”
I let out a breathy laugh at their bickering, which is quickly cut off when whatever rests inside me starts vibrating.
My hips jerk against the seat as I grasp on to Ronan’s arm for purchase, but the brutal vibrations are almost too much.
“Sorry, Siren,” he whispers as he presses something on the vibrator, bringing down the intensity to a dull vibration that leaves me wanting more.
“How does that feel, baby?” Ronan asks, pressing a soft kiss to my cheek.
I bite down on my bottom lip as I swallow down a moan. “I need more,” I whimper.
“That’s too bad,” Ryker rumbles. “You’re going to keep that inside you until our next stop, and you’re not to come under any circumstances. Do you understand me?”
I glare up at him but find myself nodding, because even though the idea of being forced to hover at the brink of release for what could be hours is insane to me. I’m desperate to please him, to do anything he tells me to.
“Good girl.” He brushes his thumb across my cheek, but his other hand remains in my yoga pants, occasionally pressing the toy deeper or circling my clit in too gentle motions.
I did not have being edged in the back seat during an impromptu road trip on my bingo card.
