Him
The longer she stares at me, the more I feel the urge to hide her in my arms. Hide her from all evil of the world that she seems to attract for some unknown reason.
I wish she could live between my arms, where her innocent charm could thrive; where she could forever be safe.
But then she ignores my hello and turns back to Black, “Thanks! But I’ll manage.”
“You’re not in the condition to go back by yourself and it’s already dark outside. Plus, the drug is still in your blood stream and you definitely don’t want to lose consciousness on your way home.”
Black’s eyebrows scrunch just a little; although I’m positive she can understand the anxiety in his voice, “Look, just take the ride home. You don’t need to interact with him.”
He sighs before continuing, “I understand what you’re going through. In fact, I would’ve dropped you. But then my buddy here, will kill me for it. So, you better just go with him.”
“But I –” she holds her head as it spins, still drowsy from the drug they gave her.
Just before she’s about to fall from the dizziness, I reach out and grab her from behind balancing her back on her feet.
“Let’s get you someplace safe. Okay?” I tell her on which she nods in agreement. But the reason of agreement is visible in her eyes; she’s afraid of disagreeing to me. I’ll change that reason, soon.
“Can you walk to the bike or never mind –”
She opens her mouth to say something, but I pick her up in my arms and carry her outside; while she hesitantly wraps her hands around my neck for support. She is still avoiding my gaze when I place her on the back seat of my Ninja, before speeding off.
I can feel her stare behind my back, burning sharp cuts on my skin with her judgmental eyes; contemplating every logic that comes to her mind.
“Are you only going to stare at me, or say something too?” I taunt playfully.
“What? No, I am not staring at you,” guilt dripping in her voice – unknowingly.
“You do know how I feel about you lying, don’t you?”
She’s about to say something before she murders the words on the tip of her tongue.
“Maybe you need to get a reminder...what do you say?” And that’s not even a threat; because I’m smiling. Because I’m happy that her arms are wrapped around me, even when she knows the truth now.
“Please just take me home... without your usual crap. Okay?”
Her courage makes me smile grow wider.
“And... thank you for saving me, again.”
Seems like that came out with difficulty, considering she’s still furious at me. And maybe, doubtful of my intentions, too.
I avoid the turn on the left and speed up straight to the highway ahead.
“What? What are you doing? We just crossed my turn...” tsking she straightens herself behind my back, “I need to get down. Pull over.”
“Do you want to be sorry too?” I drop another threat. Although, I’m the one feeling sorry.
“Why are you such a bully? I just want to go home... I can’t take this anymore. I need time to get over this,” Her voice cracks.
“Would it feel better if I told you that I won’t hurt you tonight?” I whisper – trying to sound as gentle as I can.
My heart breaks when she starts sobbing on my back as soon as she hears my question.
Guess I have earned the reputation of hurting her more than I want to. I’ll need to change that.
Adjusting her trembling hands on my chest I speed up on the empty road, as the clouds roar for a round of heavy downpour. Her hands maybe on my chest only there not to piss me off, but I can feel her heart rate shoot up when the vehicle turns to a more secluded road ahead.
“I have been here. Where are we going?”
I don’t answer to any of her statements; she’ll see for herself – her new home!
“Where are you taking me?” a more irritated voice asks me, “Why aren’t you answering any of my questions? And then you expect me to trust you that you won’t hurt me? Either answer me – or pull over... Or I am jumping off.”
“Don’t even try, or I’ll really have to consider not hurting you. We are almost here; I will answer all your questions.”
All I get in response, is an angry huff. And that’s okay. I’m in no position to threaten her, anymore.
Pulling over to the front of my cabin, I pull off helmet and earpiece; gulping hard as I approach the best part of today.
I still have about an hour and half before my crew comes back home with a shit ton of work. I should utilize it for clearing out her doubts.
Getting off the motorcycle looks like her favorite part of the ride, as she distances from me quickly.
“Why am I here?” exasperation covers her sigh as she crosses her hands on her chest.
“Because I wanted to bring you here,” I say rolling my eyes; it’s the most obvious answer.
“Its... this place... it doesn’t look safe. Please, just drop me home. I don’t want to be anywhere near you,” She joins her hands in surrender, never meeting my eyes that are stuck on her ever since we got off the bike.
I walk over to her making her pace backwards in an attempt to get away from me, “Is it? because that’s not what it sounded like earlier – when you called out for me.”
Holding her by the shoulders, I whisper, “Don’t you want to see what’s behind this cover on my face? Are you afraid you’ll like it too much?” My voice dropping down to dangerous decibels, as she hides her face in the palm of her hands.
“Open your eyes, sweetheart. Because your fears are baseless.” I push her hands away from her face and force her chin up. “Open your eyes. Kill me with those eyes if it pleases you. Believe me when I say you’re fully capable of dying if you’re the one killing me.”
She opens her eyes and her gaze falls straight into the dark pits between my real irises, pacing her breath instantly. My stare falls to the light rise and fall of her chest, making her shiver even more; before it slowly rises to meet her lip being abused between her teeth.
“Stop biting your lip, or I’ll have to rescue it with my own type of bite. Do you want that?” I brush the tip of her nose with mine, in a desperate attempt to stop myself from breaking the promise I made to her while coming here.
Because I would otherwise kiss her right here – right now, below the beautiful cloudy sky, until we lost control and indulged in something more sinister.
Those eyes have some kind of magic, especially when she looks at me like a lamb.
It sears me inside out. Burning my already aching desire to a crisp, until there’s only ashes of the gentle guy she likes. And all that’s left is a darkness waiting to drag her to the same inferno where he emerged from.
She instantly releases her lip which drips red from the place where she bit it. I drop my head until my mouth reaches just the corner of her lower lip, licking the wound clean. The crimson liquid burning its way on my tongue and down my throat, as I groan with the sacred taste of heaven.
She steps back seeing me descend down the dark halls of lust, my eyes telling her everything she already knows. She is terrified, and I fucking love it.
Gulping in all the dread; she confronts me with the most anticipated question of the decade, “Who are you?”
Her eyes are searching mine. And all I want is time to stand still. For I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long, I don’t even remember how I’m here and in front of her school gates, both at the same time.
I smirk, shaking my head when she scurries backwards, “I have told you before, I’ll tell you again... I am who you want me to be.”
The roaring clouds break into a wild shower in a matter of minutes between our stare contest. This is not how I planned the face reveal, but God knows better.
The rain is gushing on our bodies, making us drenched in it’s cold embrace. Heating my insides to dangerously high levels, while I leer at the soaking goddess in front of me. She stands still in her tracks; alert like a gazelle, ready to run away from its predator.
Her beautiful yellow wrap around is soaked through, revealing the red lacy material from beneath making her look like the sweetest forbidden fruit I am dying to taste, even if it leaves me a sinner.
Her nervousness and the cold have had a combination effect making ripples of gooseflesh run on her skin, also making the hardened peaks of her chest extremely unavoidable.
The rain is splashing against my face as her eyes widen with years of dread and fear that I instilled in her, ever since I first started stalking her. Haunting her with my presence like it’s the only thing she needs in her life.
The paint from my face is washing away, slowly uncovering the identity of a person she knows by many names. I snatch away the voice modulator as I approach her.
Horror holding her in a chokehold as I speak, “I am Nakshatra. Your landlord... your stalker... your lover. And your Nakul.”
Her gasp is loud and clear as she rushes away from me, running into the jungle I know by rote.
I slowly chase behind her, humming on my way, “There’s no running away from me now. I’m everywhere, muffin. You’ll understand that very quickly.”
