Chapter 13 #2
The edge of the chair hit the back of her knees, and she dropped into it, looking up at him with curiosity. “Aye, I assumed ye’d ken that by now.”
That coaxed another chuckle from him.
He dropped to his knees before her. “Here’s what I ken.” He flipped up her skirt, drawing a soft gasp. “I’ve been going mad wondering what ye taste like.” He looked up at her. “Tell me to stop, and I will.”
Hannah found herself speechless.
Aiden grinned at that and pushed her knees apart, pausing to admire her for a moment. A shiver skittered down her spine, making her swallow thickly and squirm.
What do I want?
No answer was forthcoming.
Anyway, all thoughts vanished when he lowered his head between her legs as though it was the most obvious place in the world for him to be, and pressed his cheek against the sensitive inside of her thigh.
His stubble pricked the soft skin there, thrillingly coarse.
Almost without realizing what she was doing, Hannah ground against his cheek, seeking out more.
He chuckled, turning his head to press his lips to her skin.
She felt the firm, smooth edge of his teeth, not biting, not hurting, only pressing in a way that made her shiver.
Firm, strong hands curled around her calves, sliding up and down almost experimentally.
There’s nothing experimental about this. He kens exactly what he’s doing.
He cocked his head, eyes dark, and broke into a slow, wicked grin. Hannah wondered briefly if she’d spoken aloud. Then he dove in, dragging his tongue along her nether lips.
A small gasp tore from her, and her back arched. Aiden growled, the sound reverberating through her in a way she could not have described if she had a thousand years. Pleasure shot through her, coursing through her veins like blood, spreading everywhere.
Aiden hooked her legs over his shoulders, licking and lapping at her folds until she moaned loudly. He nipped her inner thigh and then returned to stroking her with his tongue.
Hannah squirmed on the chair, and he pinned her down. “Ah-ah,” he murmured, kissing down her thigh to her knee. “I’m nae done with ye yet.”
His fingers slid through her folds, and she groaned as he began stroking her harder, watching her face as she clutched the arms of the chair with another moan.
“There ye go, brèagha,” he purred as he watched the flush spreading up her neck to her cheeks. “Finish for me.”
His encouragement tipped her over the edge. She cried out and arched her back again, gasping.
Aiden kept up the pressure until she squirmed back from it. He nipped her inner thigh again before gently lowering her legs. “There.”
Hannah was panting, looking at him with wide eyes as he grinned up at her. He kissed her lips again and gently tugged her skirt back into place.
“I kent ye missed me.”
She placed a hand over her face and noticed almost absently that it was shaking.
He did this before. To other women. Perhaps I am nae special at all. Perhaps I—
No, she couldn’t entertain that thought. Not so soon after experiencing something so wonderful.
I daenae want to ruin it.
She laughed breathlessly and shook her head. “I… I need to leave.”
“It’s considered very bad manners to run off so soon after something like that,” he responded with a wry grin.
She reddened. “Oh, I didnae… I daenae ken. But I’m sure me sister is waiting.”
Aiden glanced at the window and shook his head. “Nay.”
“Why?”
“It’s dark out. I’m nae letting ye go out on the road in the dark.”
“Letting?” She furrowed her brow and shook her head. “I’ll be fine.”
“I suppose ye daenae recall the last time, lass. I especially daenae want to murder anyone this evening.”
“There arenae as many bandits in this area.”
“Nae many doesnae mean none. I willnae have ye on the road.” He stood and strode to the door, seeming to consider the subject closed.
Hannah opened her mouth and closed it, angry that she couldn’t think of a decent argument because he had a point.
“Prepare a chamber,” Aiden ordered. “Our guest is staying the night. Send someone to see to her pony.”
Hannah heard a feminine voice answer, “Aye, me Laird.”
“I still daenae think it’s a good idea,” she sighed.
“I daenae care.” Aiden glanced back at her. “I protect me people. Always.”
Something about that statement sent a warmth through her chest that had nothing to do with the one he’d left in her belly.
It took her a moment to realize what it was. She’d been taking care of Violet for so long, she’d forgotten what it felt like to have someone else take care of her.
That was the moment she stopped giving Aiden a hard time.
Suddenly, a knock sounded at the door, and he called, “Enter.”
A maid stepped inside and curtseyed to him, before looking at Hannah. “Will ye be wanting a bath, me Lady?”
Hannah let out a chuckle and raised her hands. “I’m nay lady. But a bath sounds nice.”
“Aye, miss,” the maid said quickly. “This way.”
Just as Hannah turned to follow her out of the room, Aiden caught her by the arm. “We’ll be having dinner together tonight.”
She felt a blush rush up her cheeks. “Wh—Nay.”
“I’m yer Laird, and I say aye.”
He released her arm and walked through the door, leaving her gawking after him.
