Chapter - 39
The Holi party was about to begin. The palace grounds were decorated, and soon, guests would start arriving. No one was allowed inside, yet somehow, Raghav managed to walk in.
He greeted everyone, acting like he owned the place.
And then, Siya walked in from the kitchen.
Before I could say anything, Arjun spoke up."Siya bhabhi, this is Raghav bhaiya. Aarav bhai's friend."
I watched as Raghav extended his hand toward her.
"Hello, Bhabhi," he said with a wide grin.
Siya was about to shake his hand.
I didn't think. I stepped forward, grabbed Raghav's hand, and shook it instead.
"Hello." My voice was firm, leaving no room for argument.
Raghav gave me an amused look. "What?"
I raised an eyebrow. "What, what? Just say hello from a distance."
He rolled his eyes, completely ignoring me, and turned back to Siya.
"Bhabhi, sorry, I couldn't meet you earlier. All because of this idiot."
Idiot? This man was playing with fire.
I gave him a death glare, but as expected, Raghav didn't care.
"I've heard you cook really well, Bhabhi. Did you make anything today?" he asked.
Siya, being the kind-hearted person she was, nodded. "Yes, I made gujiya. Would you like some?"
Absolutely not.
Raghav grinned. "Absolutely, Bhabhi!"
Before he could say anything else, Siya walked to the kitchen and returned with a plate of gujiyas.
Just as she was about to hand it to him—
I took the plate.
I picked up a gujiya and took a bite, chewing slowly as everyone stared at me.
"What?" I said, my tone casual. "I'm hungry."
Arjun frowned. "But bhai, you don't even like sweets."
I shot him a look. He shut up.
Siya's soft voice broke the silence. "But Aarav, I brought it for—"
I cut her off. "It's okay, Siya. I'll tell someone to bring more."
I turned slightly and signaled a staff member. "Bring gujiya for everyone."
Then, stepping closer to Raghav, I lowered my voice so only he could hear.
"You're my friend, that's why I'm letting you eat what she made... But that doesn't mean she will bring it for you."
Raghav made a face, clearly annoyed. I could tell he was cursing me in his mind.
But did I care? Not at all.
The festive atmosphere was settling in as everyone finished eating the gujiyas.
Sumitraji clapped her hands together, gathering everyone's attention. "Let's go. The guests have started arriving."
With that, everyone made their way toward the front palace, where the Holi celebration was in full swing.
A few days before, Sumitraji had told Aarav to invite Siya's family to the celebration.
He had agreed, but only partially.
He informed Sumitrajithat Dev and Tara wouldn't be able to come because of office work—which was true.
But as for Suresh and Meenakshi?
He never invited them.
Instead, he told Sumitraji that they were unwell and couldn't attend.
Aarav had no intention of letting them ruin Siya's mood on such a special day.
On the other hand, Anaya had just finished getting ready. Dressed in a white pleated dress with a pastel embroidered jacket and pink heels, she stepped into the living room, adjusting the bangles on her wrist.
She looked around, only to realize that everyone had already gone outside.
Raghav had stepped back inside to attend a phone call, his attention fully on his screen.
Anaya, too, was scrolling through her phone as she walked.
And then—bam!
She collided with someone.
Her phone slipped from her hands, and she herself almost lost balance.
Before she could hit the ground, a firm grip caught her wrist.
It was Raghav.
Anaya quickly looked up, ready to scold the person.
But the moment she saw who it was, the words died on her tongue.
Raghav smirked slightly and let go of her hand.
"Careful, princess." His voice was casual, as if the whole thing didn't matter.
And without another word, he walked further inside.
Anaya blinked, watching him for a moment. But she didn't overthink it.
Instead, she simply picked up her phone and walked outside, heading toward the party.
The Holi party at Rathore Palace was in full swing, with guests enjoying themselves, music playing in the background, and colors filling the air.
Everyone was busy meeting the Rathore family, but with so many people around, no one particularly noticed Siya as part of the family.
If anyone did, they either didn't think much of it or knew better than to ask questions.
Meanwhile, after greeting the guests, Aarav had slipped away to his study room. He was never one for loud celebrations. Meeting people was the only thing he considered a duty during such events, and once that was done, he preferred to retreat into his world of work.
But Anaya wasn't happy about this. Watching her Aarav bhai avoid the festivities yet again, she turned to Arjun with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"Arjun bhaiya, I think we should give Aarav bhai a special thandai. That way, he'll finally enjoy Holi instead of locking himself in his study."
Arjun looked at her as if she had lost her mind. "Are you mad? If bhai finds out what we're thinking, he'll throw us out of the house! Think about what you're saying. If we do this... I don't even want to imagine what will happen."
Anaya wasn't convinced. "But what if Siya bhabhi is the one who gives it to him? I'm sure he won't say anything to her." She smirked, clearly proud of her plan.
Before Arjun could respond, a voice interrupted them.
"Instead of giving that special thandai to Aarav, why don't you give it to Siya? If that happens, I swear, Aarav will never forget this Holi in his life."
They turned to see Raghav, standing there with a smirk.
Anaya raised an eyebrow but said nothing. Arjun, however, looked nervous. "But what if Aarav bhai finds out? Then—"
Raghav cut him off with a chuckle. "How will he find out? He's inside, isn't he?"
Anaya thought about it for a moment and then grinned mischievously. "That actually sounds like a better idea."
Arjun groaned, already regretting being a part of this conversation, but Anaya had made up her mind. She was going to do this.
With the plan set in motion, Raghav smirked one last time before leaving the party and heading to his house.
I stood quietly beside Chachi as guests continued to come and greet us. No one asked anything about me or made me feel uncomfortable, which was a relief. I wasn't sure how people would react to seeing me here, but it seemed like no one really paid much attention.
At one point, a lady asked about me, and Chachi simply replied, "She is family." The woman nodded in understanding and didn't question further.
I let out a small breath of relief.
But my mind was elsewhere.
It's been a while since Aarav went to his study. He had only come to greet the guests and then disappeared like he always did. I knew he didn't enjoy these kinds of gatherings, but still... Had he even eaten anything?
Maybe I should check on him... or at least ask if he needs anything.
I turned to Chachi. "Chachi, I'll be back in a little while."
She gave me a nod, not really questioning it, and I was about to step inside when suddenly, Arjun bhaiya and Anaya appeared in front of me.
"What happened, Bhabhi?" Anaya asked with a curious smile.
I hesitated for a moment, glancing around. No one seemed to be paying attention to us, so I answered softly, "Nothing... I was just going inside to check on him."
Arjun quickly spoke up. "Bhabhi, Bhai is in an important meeting right now. You should go after some time."
I paused, thinking. If Aarav was really busy, then I shouldn't disturb him. He hated distractions when he was working.
"Oh... okay," I agreed, nodding slowly.
Just then, a waiter arrived with glasses of thandai. Anaya was the first to take one. She handed one to Arjun bhaiya, then smiled and handed one to me.
"Here, Bhabhi, have this."
I took the glass hesitantly. I wasn't really in the mood for a drink, but I didn't want to refuse her either. Anaya took one for herself as well, and she started drinking happily.
I took a small sip.
The moment the drink touched my lips, I felt... strange. It tasted different from anything I had ever had before. It was sweet but had a strong, unfamiliar flavor.
I took another sip.
And another.
I don't know why, but I started liking it.
The three of us continued talking, laughing lightly. I wasn't really sure what we were even talking about, but everything suddenly felt so... light. My body felt warm, my mind a little slower than usual.
After a while, something felt... off.
I don't know why, but something isn't right.
My vision seemed to blur for a second, and I blinked, trying to focus.
I placed a hand on my forehead. Why do I feel like this?
I turned to Anaya, my voice softer than usual. "I... I'll be back."
Without waiting for a response, I slowly started walking toward the palace.
Everything around me felt strange. My steps were unsteady, and the world seemed to spin slightly. I blinked again and again, trying to clear my vision, but it wasn't helping.
I somehow managed to reach the living room, gripping the side of a chair for support. My heart was beating fast, and my thoughts were all over the place.
Then, suddenly, one thought became clear in my mind—Aarav.
Where is he?
This palace is so big... Where will I find him?
I looked around, searching for someone to help me, and my eyes landed on a girl standing nearby. Without thinking much, I walked up to her.
"Do you know where my husband is?" I asked, my voice softer than usual, but there was a strange excitement bubbling inside me.
She looked at me, a little surprised, but then smiled. "Yes, Bhabhi, I know. Do you want to go to him?"
I nodded eagerly. "Yes!"
She was about to lead me, but I suddenly stopped.
She turned back, confused. "What happened, Bhabhi?"
I smiled at her, feeling something warm and happy inside me. In a soft voice, I said, "I need color. I haven't applied color to him yet."
She hesitated. "But Bhai doesn't like it..."
I frowned slightly, tilting my head. "I'm not interested in your Bhai." I pouted, then grinned. "I'm only interested in my husband!"
She still looked unsure, but I wasn't. My mind was set.
Where are the colors? I need them!
She sighed and pointed to a plate filled with colors. My eyes immediately lit up when I saw the soft pink powder. Pink... it will look good on him.
I took some in my hand, feeling the soft texture between my fingers, and giggled. "Now, take me to my husband. I want to see him now!"
She shook her head, probably thinking I was acting weird, but I didn't care.
I was happy.
Aarav hasn't played Holi properly... but now he will.
We stopped in front of a door, and the girl turned to me with a small smile.
"Bhabhi, now you go inside. Bhai is inside."
I blinked at her, tilting my head. "Will you not come with me?" I pouted. "I told you, I want to meet my husband, not your brother!"
She let out a soft laugh. "Bhabhi, your husband is inside, and I have some work. You go and meet him alone."
I thought about it for a moment and then nodded eagerly. "Yes, yes! I want to meet him alone. You go!"
She shook her head slightly, probably thinking something, but I didn't care. My heart was happy, and my mind was set—I was going to see my Aarav.
I pushed open the door, a wide smile on my face, but he didn't even notice me. Hmph.
There he was, sitting at his desk, focused on his work as usual. Always working. Does he ever take a break?
I took slow, careful steps towards him, trying not to giggle at how serious he looked.
"Aarav..." I called out softly.
Without looking up, he responded, "Yes, Siya baby."
I froze. Baby?
My eyes widened, and I immediately started looking around, my mind running in circles. Baby? Where?
I turned left. No baby.
I turned right. No baby.
I even checked under the table. Where is the baby?!
I stood up straight and pouted, placing my hands on my hips. "Aarav, where is the baby? I want a baby!"
I was busy working on The Rathore Alliance Project.
This project wasn't just important—it was necessary.
It wasn't about the deal itself anymore; it was about power.
People had started thinking they could outsmart me, betray me, or gain an upper hand.
I needed to secure this project and remind everyone of their place.
The pen in my hand moved swiftly over the papers. My focus was sharp, my mind calculating every move.
Then, the door opened.
I didn't need to look up to know who it was. Only Siya dared to enter without knocking.
I had told her to enjoy the party. But here she was. And strangely, I wasn't annoyed. I liked that she came to me.
"Aarav," she called softly.
Her voice was gentle, but I didn't stop working. I wanted to finish this quickly so I could sit with her later.
"Yes, Siya baby." I answered, still focused on my work.
Then she said something that made my pen stop mid-air.
"Aarav, where is the baby? I want a baby!"
I froze.
Slowly, I looked up.
She stood there with her hands on her hips, a small pout on her lips. She was smiling—too much.
For a moment, my mind blanked. Then, thoughts rushed in. Baby?
I pushed my chair back and walked toward her.
"What baby? Which baby, Siya?" I asked, my voice calm but firm.
She tilted her head, her smile widening as if she had just heard the funniest joke.
"You said baby. So where is that baby?" she asked, her voice filled with innocence.
I narrowed my eyes. Something isn't right.
I took a step closer, lowering my voice. "Angel, did you drink?"
She giggled—giggled—and shook her head dramatically. "No! Why would I drink?"
Liar.
I folded my arms, my tone turning softer but still controlled. "Yes, you are a good girl. Why would you drink?" I played along. "But tell me... what did you drink or eat?"
She blinked a few times, then tapped her finger on her chin like she was deep in thought.
"I drank... I don't remember. But it was tasty!" she said excitedly. Then she pouted. "I need more, but no one gave me."
That was enough.
I clenched my jaw, my eyes darkening. Bhang. Someone had given her bhang.
Whoever was responsible for this would face consequences. They had made a mistake—one they would regret.
But first, Siya.
I took a deep breath and softened my tone. "Siya, let's go. We'll go to our room, hmm?"
She nodded at first, but then, just as I reached for her hand, She gasped dramatically, clutching her chest like she had just remembered something life-changing.
Wait-wait-wait! I almost forgot the most important thing!"
I frowned slightly, watching her closely. What is she up to now?
Before I could react, she moved closer—too close—and in the next second, I felt the soft touch of powder on my face.
"Bura na mano, Holi hai!" she giggled, jumping excitedly, her eyes shining with pure joy.
"Don't mind, it's Holi!"
I stood still, just... watching her. Her smile, her happiness—it was infectious.
But then, suddenly, she stopped. Her face fell, and before I could understand why, she started crying.
My heart clenched.
I stepped toward her, but she took a step back.
I moved faster, grabbing her hand before she could go any further. "What happened, Angel?" I asked softly.
She sniffled, looking up at me with teary eyes. "You... you will get angry at me now?"
I frowned. "Why would I get angry at you?"
Her lower lip trembled. "B-because I put color on your face... I know you... you don't like it. But... but I wanted to..." she said, her voice breaking between hiccups.
I exhaled, my grip on her hand tightening slightly. "I will not get angry at you. Never."
She looked up at me, still unsure. "Promise?"
I nodded. "Promise."
Her tears stopped, but then she pouted again. "But... but you didn't apply color on me. Everyone did."
I smirked slightly. "I'll do it now."
She looked around, checking left and right like a lost child, then looked back at me. "But... but there is no color here... how will you apply?"
I leaned closer. "Let me show you."
Before she could say anything, I held her waist and pulled her towards me.
She gasped, her hands pressing lightly against my chest.
I tilted my head and brushed my cheek against hers, smearing the color onto her soft skin. Then I did the same with her other cheek.
"See? Simple." I murmured.
For a second, she just stared at me, blinking as if trying to process what happened.
And then—she cupped my face in her small, trembling hands, her eyes filled with something I couldn't quite define.
And what she said next—My breath caught. For the first time in years, my mind blanked—completely. My grip on her waist faltered slightly, my heartbeat thudding in my ears.
"Mujhe aap acche lagne lage hain, Avi..."
"I have started liking you, Avi..."
If you were in Aarav's place, how would you react to Siya's sudden confession?
Do you think Siya will remember her confession once the effect of bhang wears off? How will she react if she does?
Did you all like the nickname 'Avi' for Aarav? ??
Sometimes, I feel like I should make reels or share little spoilers with you all... but honestly, I don't get much time.

The problem is, when I start making a reel or editing one, my mind just goes blank. And after a few minutes of staring at the screen, I give up and leave it. ??
So, instead of spending time on reels, I choose to put all my energy into writing for you. Hope you understand! ??
