Chapter 21 #2
“No, talk to me, Silver,” he pleaded.
“I don’t want to talk.” He wanted to burn these images of Brixton trying to take what was his out of existence. Of what the two of them might have looked like, sitting beneath the stars on campus, making out as though they had the right to do so. “Suck me.”
That familiar defiance flashed in his eyes. “The bond doesn’t give you that much control, majesty. You can make me physically respond to you, but you can’t—”
“Come.” Silver waited until Nuri’s dick was finished emptying between them, then he grinned and repeated the command. “Come for me.”
He whimpered, but there was nothing he could do to prevent his dick from staying hard.
“I can make you come a dozen times, more even,” he promised, “and you still won’t lose that hard-on until I’ve filled you up with my cream. That’s what it means to belong to a Swift. The more of me you take, in either form, the more addicted you become.”
“That’s why you insisted we do it every night this past week,” Nuri accused.
“It was certainly one of the reasons.” He wouldn’t lie.
There was no reason to, not when he wanted the other man to understand.
Wanted him to know how well and truly trapped he was.
“You can rid yourself of the addiction, but it would mean abstaining for the rest of your life. And you’d have to escape from me first, which we both know is no easy feat. ”
Nuri swallowed audibly. “I can live without sex, majesty. Can you?”
Silver couldn’t live without Nuri, full stop.
“With you around, I’ll never have to. Come, Narek.”
He cried out and grabbed onto Silver’s wrist, nails digging into his skin. “Please, just tell me why.”
“I’ll tell you the truth if you’ll tell me the truth.”
“All I’ve done is be honest with you,” Nuri stated.
“Then blow me,” he offered. “Blow me, and I’ll believe you.”
Silver wanted to believe him, he did. “I trust you more than him, but he was very convincing. He said things about the two of you…made it sound like…I tortured him, but his story wouldn’t change.”
Understanding seemed to flash across Nuri’s face, and then he was looking at Silver the same way he did at the office, just before tackling a difficult project.
“You’re afraid,” Nuri realized. “You’re afraid that there was a point in time that I could have actually wanted Romeo over you.”
“Did you?”
“All right.” Nuri dropped his arms to his sides. “I’ll give you what you want.”
“I want you, Nuri.”
“Being your bondmate isn’t the same as being your partner,” Nuri said. “We aren’t alpha or omega. This may be a binding contract of a sorts, but there’s no law that will allow you to keep me chained in this room like this forever.”
“You seem to have forgotten, pet.” Silver pressed a chaste kiss to his brow and then straightened. “I am the law.”
“Is this how you intended to cheat?” Nuri shifted closer, getting into position to take him in his mouth despite his accusatory words. “You suggested we roll dice thinking that even if I did win, you’d make this big reveal of the Swiftbond and I would magically be convinced to stay?”
“Won’t you?”
“No.” His tongue flicked out, darting across Silver’s flushed crown, and he scoffed when Silver’s hips jerked. “Our agreement still stands.”
“You won’t be able to come without me.”
“Yeah? Right now, it looks like you’re the one who can’t come without me.” Nuri didn’t give him a chance to retort, giving him another lick before wrapping his lips around the tip and sucking him down a couple of inches.
Silver’s head fell back and his fingers found Nuri’s scalp, threading through his hair to urge him closer.
He’d had no way of knowing for certain how this night was going to go, had planned on following through on the threat of the chain and keeping him locked here indefinitely if it was revealed any part of Brixton’s lies were true.
Nuri bobbed his head, then took his cock as deep as he could, until it banged against the back of his throat. His tongue traced the veins on its underside, and when he pulled off, it was agonizingly and purposefully slow.
“The first time I saw Brix in years was last week, and it was a chance encounter. At least it was on my end.” Nuri took a deep breath and then dropped back on him, blowing him with more vigor as if to prove a point.
His cousin had painted a different picture.
One where the two of them had secretly pinned for the other since that hook up in college.
He’d insisted that Nuri and he had gone all the way three years ago, when they’d all happened to be at the same family event hosted by Sij.
The story plausible only because there’d been a gap of time where Silver had left Nuri unattended to deal with Imperial business with his father.
It was a similar story about a party last year.
An office event hosted by one of Rein Inc.
’s partners that Nuri had attended alone because Silver had held no interest. Silver had ordered someone to cross reference everything, from Brixton’s flight records, to his call logs.
Having seen no communications between the two of them on any of Nuri’s devices, that left ruling out his secretary had a burner device hidden away somewhere.
He’d never believe Nuri would do anything to risk Rein Inc.
But he’d admitted to taking other lovers before. What was to stop him from choosing Brixton once or twice?
Silver tightened his grip on the back of Nuri’s head and drove himself into his mouth, taking control of the act as his emotions got the better of him. He forced him to deep throat, growling when Nuri’s hands pushed against his thighs in a bid to free himself.
“Only you would be able to overlook how special a Swiftbond is,” he stated. “Only you would rather become celibate then give in to me.”
Nuri managed to slip free, coughing and gasping for air. He glared up at him, precome and spit trickling from the corners of his lips. “Hey, asshole, all I ever fucking do is give in to you.”
Silver blinked, stunned into silence.
Furiously, he wiped at his mouth, more tears spilling from his eyes. “I’ll let you choke me on your cock all you want, but tell me why you did it first. Please.”
Silver frowned. “I don’t need your permission.”
“You want it though,” Nuri said, and he sounded so sure of himself, that Silver faltered.
…Did he?
“I could fuck you to my heart’s content, no matter how loud you scream or beg me to stop,” he told him. “No one would come to your defense. No one will stop me.”
“You could,” he agreed. “But that’s not what you want either.”
“No?”
“No.”
All right…
“What do I want, Narek?”
“You’re a Swift. The bond forces me into arousal to make it harder for me to resist—some lingering survival code built into your DNA that’s no longer applicable to modern living. But that doesn’t mean you’re completely unaffected.”
Silver’s spine stiffened and the whole world seemed to freeze. What did he know? Did he—
“Swifts can only have one bondmate at a time. That means so long as you refuse to sever the bond between us, you can’t use it to control anyone else.”
He sighed, somewhat relieved. “I don’t need Swift magic to dominate anyone in the bedroom.”
“You felt like you needed it for me.”
“You wanted to quit.”
“I still do.”
“Enough. This is getting us nowhere.” Silver made to get back onto the bed, but Nuri planted a palm to the center of his chest, holding him at bay.
“You said you were going to enlighten me,” he reminded. “The reason I keep asking for you to explain is because I’m trying to be. Enlightened. From anyone else, this puzzle would be simple to solve, but you’re not just anyone. Do you…want me? Like this? You want to fuck me?”
“Obviously, Narek.”
“No, I mean, for how long? How long have you wanted to?”
“Since college.” He shrugged like it was no big deal, not really understanding why he was suddenly feeling small and embarrassed. Exposed. No matter the reason, he didn’t like it. “Get on your back and spread your legs.”
There was no hesitation to comply this time. Nuri fell backward and opened his thighs.
“What?” he taunted as he settled himself over Nuri. “No more commentary?”
He met his gaze head on, his dick rubbing against Silver’s stomach, leaving a trail of wetness behind. “You could have just asked me to sleep with you.”
“You would have said no.” There’d been his father as well. Sij Rein had been an obstacle between them for years, so much so, that the day he’d finally died had been one of the happiest of Silver’s life.
Not that he would say as much to Nuri. Unlike him, his mate had a full range of emotions and felt things like remorse and grief. At the end of the day, he still felt that he owed Sij for all that he had now, which meant he wouldn’t be pleased to hear Silver speak ill of him.
“Because this is wrong,” Nuri said. “A Swiftbond won’t change the way I feel about it.”
Silver found his entrance and pushed in slowly, feeding Nuri’s tight body his cock bit by bit. He groaned as he slid deeper, electricity skating across his skin, balls trembling as he was squeezed within walls of velvet heat.
He decided he didn’t want to hear whatever came next. Didn’t want to listen to Nuri reject him, or list all of the reasons they shouldn’t or couldn’t be doing this in that same tone he used at corporate meetings. None of that would change anything. Not for either of them.
“We can stay here until you’re ready,” Silver decided, planting feather light kisses across Nuri’s brow before he started to thrust in and out, rocking the bed in tune to their mutual moans.
“Using your Swift form is cheating.” Nuri’s arms banded around his neck and his back arched at a particularly deep stroke. “You’ll have to learn how to live without me someday, Silver.”
“No,” he buried his face against the crook of his neck and grazed his sensitive skin with his teeth, “I won’t.”
“Silver—”
Silver sealed his mouth over his and silenced him with his tongue.
