Chapter 50 #2
Instead, I nodded encouragingly at Aiden with a small smile as the yellow glow of his eyes retreated back to his normal eye color. My eyes suddenly trailed worriedly over Jake's wolf whose eyes were rolling back into his head.
“Aiden …let him go,” I pleaded, staring down at Jake’s wolf form beginning to lose consciousness.
No sooner did I say the words than Aiden acquiesced, letting go of Jake only to have Jake turn back into his human form.
“If you ever think about going near Rose again, I’ll kill you,” Aiden bit out before walking over to me. He was dirty and bloody. But to his surprise, I didn’t care. I jumped into his arms.
Aiden winced slightly from my impact, the deep scratches on his neck from Jake’s wolf were still healing but he picked me up, spinning me around.
“I’m not going to let anyone take you from me,” he said hoarsely, kissing me soundly. “I love you so damn much.”
He set me back down on the ground, his love for me plain as day for everyone to see. It was written all over his face.
We kissed again, Aiden's arms around my waist, clutching me tightly to his body. Almost as if he was afraid someone was going to snatch me away from him.
I turned my eyes and found Lexia standing by watching with a pale face as Jake stood up shakily.
Tony was also nearby and looked like he'd been sucker punched.
Immediately, upon seeing Jake moving, the beta tensed, ready to grab Jake if he tried anything.
Jake may be his cousin, but the lone wolf had no business challenging the alpha of their pack.
I knew Tony well enough to ascertain what he was thinking.
“You told me—” Jake began with a trembling voice, pointing a shaking finger at Lexia. “You told me he was just using her. That they were both miserable and Aiden was simply trying to find a loophole to get away from Rose. You said he told you he wanted to leave her.”
“I…I…” Lexia stuttered.
Aiden turned his tender gaze from me. The full blast of his arctic gaze landed on Lexia and I was witnessing its intensity..We were both livid.
“Is this what you had been doing this entire time? Pretending to need me for comfort but plotting to get Jake to challenge me? Were you really so self-absorbed that you didn't stop to think that one of us could have been seriously hurt?” Aiden grunted.
I saw Lexia's face turn paler and her breath caught in her throat as, for the first time ever, she was on the receiving end of Aiden’s glare. She deserved it.
“You have one minute to get out of my sight.” Aiden's voice promised retribution if Lexia didn't comply.
In a flash, Lexia had changed into her wolf form and bounded away.
I could see Lexia's dark brown wolf, around the same size as my own, dart away. There was something vaguely unsettling about the way Lexia's wolf looked. The movements weren’t fluid or natural. If I had to guess, I decided that Lexia didn’t often change into her wolf form.
I turned to Jake, Aiden's arms still around me, hands roaming possessively up to my ribs and then back down to wrap over my waist possessively.
“You were willing to fight to the death, for me?” I whispered at Jake, awed by his courage.
Aiden was a huge wolf. He was an alpha who trained almost daily! What had Jake been thinking?
“Well…I wanted to,” Jake confessed. “The…rewards outweigh the risk.”
Aiden's POV
I buried my nose in Rose's curls, and gave a snarl from behind her when Jake spoke.
“She’s MINE!” I half-growled and half-roared. My hands tightened over my mate's waist protectively as I glared ferociously at Jake as I stood behind Rose.
“I can see that,” Jake said, holding his hands up while buck naked.
He took a step back. My stupid cousin was still bloody and injured from his tussle with me.
His one eye was swollen shut and the entire right side of his face was bloody.
“If I had known you and Rose were happy, I would have never challenged you cousin. I did it because Lexia told me you were planning to leave Rose. I wouldn’t have given much importance to her words if it wasn’t for the fact that Rose told me something similar that time you came to get her…
when she was in heat. I could see she cared about you and I didn’t want you to break her heart.
She deserves to be happy. So when Lexia told me that your mate bond could be broken if I defeated you…
I started training, working out, and building my strength.
It was all for Rose. I just want her to be happy. ”
Jake gave a small smile to show he no longer meant any ill-will. "I didn't count on you becoming feral and alpha-level protective over her." Jake's gaze on us became a little sad.
I snarled some more, my hold tightening around Rose. It was obvious Jake still liked her. But I wasn't going to pay heed to his emotions anymore, I suddenly threw Rose over my shoulder, her feet hanging over my front while her torso slammed against my back.
“Get off my land!” I yelled at Jake. still unable to rationalize through my anger that someone had tried to take my luna from me.
The urge to claim her was overpowering as I wrenched open the door to our house.
I knew Tony had wanted to come over for lunch but I turned to shoot him a glare.
No fucking way was he coming inside. The beta then looked at our cousin.
“Looks like the poor fool has been manipulated into this.” Tony muttered and shook his head in disgust over Lexia. “This is why I hate being in relationships and haven’t had a girlfriend since high school. Way too much drama,” he whispered again.
Tony then turned and moved his gaze back to me and said, “Do you need my help? Would you like me to stay with you people for lunch?”
His tone was hopeful. I snarled at him, eyes glowing yellow.
He instantly raised his hands and exclaimed, “I think I’ll clean up our cousin and go get some take out.”
I growled and turned my back to him, satisfied that he understood to stay the fuck away.
“I’m not ready to lose my life over a home cooked meal,” I heard Tony mutter right before I slammed the door shut behind me.
Rose's POV
Aiden marched into his home, eyes flicking towards the staircase before settling on the door to the TV lounge.
"Put me down, stop being a caveman alpha,” I protested, head hanging down. All the blood was rushing to my face.
Aiden merely clutched me tighter over his shoulder as he slammed open the door to the TV lounge.
His head snapped to the coffee table in front of the couch.
He put me down, letting my entire body slide flush against his.
I squealed when he flipped me around so that my back was facing him.
His hand went to my spine, coaxing me down.
"Bend over for me,” he said gruffly, unceremoniously kicking open my legs.
Flustered, I automatically found my palms flat against the wooden coffee table.
His hands went over mine, strategically positioning them to leverage me against the table.
A hand fisted in my hair and before I knew it, he was entering me from behind, my corduroy skirt hiked up to the waist, underwear ripped away.
OK this was actually kind of hot.
My thighs quivered as he tugged my hair with one hand, the other gripping my waist firmly to hold me steady.
“I think…” I panted as I watched our reflection in the enormous rectangular mirror, with an ornately carved golden frame, on the far wall as he rutted against me. He picked up the pace, giving my a butt a tight slap. I bit my lip as pleasure mixed with pain.
“You’re mine,” he groaned, another tug of my hair, another twanging pain adding to my arousal.
“No one else’s. No one can…this ass–” he squeezed me from behind again.
“These–” He let go of my hair. One hand was still possessively splayed across my rear-end while the other started reaching around to rip open the buttons on my blouse, grabbing my newly exposed breast reflected in the mirror across from us. “Fucking MINE!” he roared.
My blouse buttons fell to the floor as Aiden continued ripping my blouse open, snapping his hips into me with such force that the table I was clutching rattled.
I looked up again at his reflection, his canines were out as he snarled “MINE!’” over and over in time with his thrusts. It was so arousing.
“I’m going to….” My voice shook. My toes curled.
He snarled again, his hand splaying against the base of my spine, pushing me down farther so that he could go in deeper.
His fingers now gripped my waist as he pushed in, hitting a spot that made me see white.
And when I came, a shriek of pure pleasure was wrenched from my body.
Aiden kept pounding into me from behind until he was pouring himself inside of me, a raucous groan of his own indicating that he’d found his release.
I couldn’t even stand, I was so dizzy from the euphoria of coming so hard and fast. Aiden seemed to sense it because he kept a firm grip on me and brought me over to the couch.
He began peppering my face with kisses as he apologized for losing control. My shirt was ripped open, buttons spread out across the floor.I was never more thankful for giving Lorraine time off. This would have been utterly embarrassing if she'd been around.
My eye fluttered open. But why the hell was Aiden apologizing? I'd loved every minute of what he’d done to me.
“I lost control…Was it too much?”
He was patting my cheek, as if to assure himself I was still there.
His other hand was trying and failing at trying to close the gap in my blouse.
Well, the buttons were all scattered across our floor so trying to close my blouse was a losing battle.
I held back a snort as I looked at the stricken expression on Aiden's face.
"Was I too wild?" he asked hoarsely.
And another ugly memory reared its head.
He’s wild. You could never handle him.
With an odd lurch, I lifted myself up on my elbows, hair falling over one shoulder.
“It was earth-shattering sex,” I said bluntly. “You’ve been holding yourself back this whole time, haven’t you?”
“It’s not like that,” Aiden's words were defensive. “It’s not like that at all. Anything with you is perfect.”
“But you like it rough?”
For the first time ever, Aiden blushed at me.
“Sometimes.”
“Hey. I’m not made of china. I won’t break.” I reached out a finger to gently trail down his bicep. “It was hot.” I smiled. “I like it when you lose control.”
Aiden didn’t look convinced, instead he looked guilty.
I didn't hesitate in my next decision. I closed my eyes, concentrating on letting down the walls I'd worked so hard to build against his mind. I loved him and he had a right to experience everything with me. No more hiding behind walls, no more second-guessing each other.
