5. Ava
Chapter Five
AVA
I slept like a log last night.
I should have been tossing and turning, worrying about my stepfather. But I’m not. And it has to be my hormones because after Taylan kissed me last night I’m on a high all day. Silas said he was out of town, but I have no idea if I can trust him or not. At the same time, I have this strange sense of safety. Like someone’s looking out for me.
It’s got to be hormonal. I’ve never had a rush like that from one kiss. I practically skip to work.
I’m not the only one in a good mood. My colleague Iris got engaged to her boyfriend Maverick yesterday. Our boss insists that we all go to Friar’s Bar to celebrate after work. Since Maverick works at the firehouse, all the firefighters show up too.
Apart from one.
I try not to keep glancing around, checking if Taylan’s turned up. The evening is drawing to a close, with people starting to leave and shouting their farewells.
My sister notices I’m distracted. I texted her this morning to let her know Silas had shown up. “Are you worried about Silas? I thought he said he was out of town this weekend?”
I shrug. “I kind of think he does the opposite of what he says he’ll do. You know, he points one way to distract you and then runs the other way?”
She nods. “Brock’s put the word out. Every firefighter in town is looking out for us.”
The door of the bar opens and Taylan walks in. He’s so tall and broad-shouldered, his tattoos emphasizing the muscles in his arms, that I suck in my breath. Mila follows my line of sight.
“He’s a good one, Ava. Brock’s always talking about how smart Tay is.”
“He is smart. He’s gorgeous and funny too. But I shouldn’t bring my problems to some unsuspecting firefighter’s broad shoulders. I’m sure there are plenty of girls in Snowflake Falls with less complicated lives.”
She squeezes my hand. “None of that matters when you find the right person. Give him a chance. You deserve to be happy.”
Mila walks over to Brock and his face lights up. Probably the same way mine did when Taylan walked in. Is it obvious how much I like him?
He sees me and smiles, flashing the cute lopsided grin that makes my stomach flip. He walks over and takes my hand, like it’s the most natural thing in the world. A bolt of electricity runs up my spine and sends tingles to the top of my head.
“I came to find you. Had something to do, but I didn’t want you going home on your own.”
I raise an eyebrow, unable to resist teasing him. “What makes you think I’m going home alone?”
“Well, Brock’s taken and so is Maverick. Laurence Friar isn’t into women, so that leaves Carl.” He points to the corner, where Carl is asleep with his mouth open.
“I guess I better wake him up. Unless you have a better suggestion?”
“I do. Let me drive you home again. I promise I won’t kiss you unless you want me to.”
I squeeze his hand. “I do. I might even invite you in for coffee.”
We’re both quiet on the ride back. When he parks outside my house, my heart is thumping double time. I walk around to his side of the car and tap on the window. He gets out and I take his hand.
“You’re coming for coffee. No discussion.”
Once we’re inside, I close the door. He leans against the door frame so his eyes are level with mine.
Smiling, I trace my hand along the sculpted line of his jaw. “I was lying. I don’t have any coffee in the house.”
Taylan brushes a stray lock of hair back from my face. “I don’t care.”
He leans down and kisses me hard. I melt into his touch, my hands sliding along his strong chest as I return the kiss, my heart beating in my ears.
His lips are warm, his mouth insistent. The subtle scent of his cologne makes my head spin. Our tongues dance together as he presses the hard lines of his body into mine. His hands find their way to my hips, pulling me closer as he deepens the kiss, one hand trailing up my side to caress my waist. I let out a soft moan, my chest heaving, as our bodies press even closer.
The stress and worry of the real world melts away as his tongue explores every inch of my mouth. My nipples are hard points and my core is hot, my body aching with need for him. He leaves a soft trail of kisses along my jaw, his breath warm against my skin. I reach up and tangle my fingers in his hair, pulling him closer as I feel a familiar ache building within me. His eyes lock with mine.
"I want you, Taylan." My voice is husky.
Taylan doesn't need to be told twice. He lifts me effortlessly, carrying me up the stairs to my bedroom. He gently places me on the bed, the sheets cool against my skin. Reaching over, I turn on the side lamp. In its soft pink glow he kicks off his shoes and takes off his shirt, his eyes never leaving me.
As he stands there, I catch my breath. Every muscle is defined, his tattoos extending from his arms across his broad shoulders. I start to unbutton my dress and he kneels before me, taking over. He gently pushes me backwards as he undoes each button, then spreads my thighs wider.
I gasp as he kisses my stomach, nipping at the soft skin. His hot breath sends unexpected shivers down my spine. His hands slide up my sides, caressing my bare skin as if it's the most precious thing in the world.
As he kneels between my legs, his eyes rake over me and another jolt of electricity shoots through me. My core is already drenched and he groans softly against my skin, his lips finding the sensitive skin behind my earlobe as he inhales deeply. He kisses my neck, pulling down the cups of my bra. He groans as he sees my pebbled nipples, his mouth closing on one, nipping and sucking it. He moves to the other as I arch my back, his body between my thighs, holding me in place. He kisses down my soft belly, sliding my panties down, as his hand glides down to tease my clit. I moan louder as his head reaches my pussy. His tongue swirls around my clit, replacing his fingers. Every bit of him floods my senses; the roughness of his stubble against my inner thighs, the heat of his breath, and the firmness of his swirling tongue when he presses down on me.
His other hand cups one of my breasts possessively, squeezing gently as if he's marking his territory. I whimper as his tongue moves faster on me, curling around and flicking my clit. I throw my head back as every nerve ending comes alive under his touch.
I can hardly catch my breath as his fingers move inside me, his tongue flicking harder and faster. As his fingers move, his tongue in sync with them, I cry out his name, wanting more. He puts three fingers inside me and begins to pump steadily, my inner walls clenching around him, desperate for release. The bed creaks and moans under our movements, and soon he's massaging my G-spot with his thumb.
My body shudders, my hips bucking up to meet his rhythm. His tongue flicks against my clit in time with his fingers, sending waves of pleasure coursing through me. His breath is hot against my clit as he parts his lips and takes it into his mouth, sucking softly.
“Taylan!” I cry out, as he swirls his tongue over my clit over and over again. It's enough to push me over the edge; I writhe under him as an orgasm crashes over me like a wave. I cry out his name again as my hips jolt off the bed with each spasm of ecstasy.
"Fuck," he murmurs against me. “You are so beautiful.”
As the ripples of my orgasm subside, there’s an unfulfilled ache in my core. “I want you inside me. I have some condoms from the healthcare nurse I saw when I arrived here. They’re gathering dust in that drawer over there.”
He winks at me, standing up and reaching into the drawer. He unbuttons his jeans and pulls them down. His enormous cock springs free and my eyes widen. Will it fit? He puts on the condom and I sit up, pushing him back onto the bed.
I crouch over him, lining my soaked pussy up over his cock. His fingers find my clit and start to stroke me again as I slide slowly down onto his girth. He groans and I arch my back as we fit together. I’ve never felt this full, all my nerves humming as I slide up and down.
The bed creaks as he meets me, thrusting upwards. The room is filled with the scent of sex as his pace quickens. My body is on fire as I come fast and hard, my pussy clenching over and over as he fucks me. His hands are on my hips, holding me in place as he shouts my name, coming inside me.
We both stay there, breathing ragged, locked together for a moment. He wraps his arms around me, pulling the covers over us and I fall into a dreamless, wonderful sleep.
Morning light streams through the window andTaylan sits up in bed. He’s looking at his phone, a line etched between his thick, dark eyebrows.
“Gotta go, gorgeous. Fire just out of town.” He leans down to kiss me. “Will you be okay?”
“I’ll be fine. Last night was incredible.”
He’s pulling his jeans on. “I wanted to talk to you about Silas, but stay here until I get back. I don’t like the fact he has your dad’s pistol, it bothers me that he might try to use it–”
I catch my breath. “Wait. I didn’t tell you what was in the package. How do you know about the pistol?”
He buttons up his shirt. “That’s part of what I wanted to talk to you about.”
“So I was right when I first met you. You are stalking me.”
He shakes his head. “I’ll explain later. I have to go. I’m sorry it came out like this.”
“There isn’t going to be a later, despite that mind-blowing sex. I don’t appreciate being lied to.”
“It’s not like that–” Taylan holds out his hand but I swipe it away.
“Go, put out fires. Leave me alone, I’m late for work.” I cross my arms.
“Ava, I love you. And I’ll explain..” He rushes out and down the stairs. The front door closes and I put my head in my hands.
I can’t trust anyone.
