Chapter 10
Amara’s POV?
I was having dinner with Ethan and explaining him about my day and few patients of the day.
“How’s Alpha Gray? I heard he visited you today. All the nurses and lady staff are going crazy over his looks. Is he hot or sommething?” Ethan blurs out.
Well that’s true. He is handsome. When I first saw him, I was so awestruck by his magnificant build, his sharp facial features, the confidence in his striking blue eyes and his masculine charm. I thought how did I get so lucky to get such a handsome mate. The rest is history.
Even after four long years, I guess he is in his late twenties.
I know werewolves age very slowly compared to a human being, but in Zachary’s case it feels like he has stopped aging or aging backwards or something.
When he smiles he gets these small dimples, which makes him look more gorgeous.
Any sane person can fall into his deep blue eyes.
Wait what!! What am I even thinking? I gave myself a mental slap.
“Okay, way to go girl” Eva huffed in distaste.
“Amara, you still on earth? What’s the matter? Don’t tell me you also fell for that cheeky Alpha” Ethan says with a tease.
“No. What no. I was just thinking about our moving. I can’t believe we only have 2 days till we leave for Night Blood pack. Your dad just called and informed me” I say nonchalantly.
“Yeah, but it’s not like we will be all alone there. At least we have one another. Once their situation gets better, we will be back to our pack” Ethan trying to console me with his sweet words.
Suddenly someone was knocking on the office door. Nurse enters my office, with panic written on her face. Doctor Ethan your patient Joni, her blood pressure is too low. I don’t think it’s a good sign. You both must come now.
We both ran to see Joni. Joni was 7 weeks pregnant with triplets. Due to her blood pressure issues we advised her to get admitted in the hospital, so that we can monitor her closely.
After a lot of examination we were able to stabilise her. Joni and her unborn kids all are well for now.
It’s almost 11 PM. Me and Ethan are in critical care section. “Her condition is stable for now, but we have to monitor her closely. You should get back home, I will stay here till her mate Tod comes back from border petrol duty. I will inform him and come to home” Ethan sat in his office.
He always takes extra care for the pregnant patients and newborns. Since this was the reason he became a pack doctor in the first place.
“Okay. But call me if you need me. Now get some rest” I gave him a hug and left for home.
Two days has passed. Dad asked me to come to his office. When I entered I saw Zachary was also present there. Our eyes connected, I felt heat rushing to my face. Why do I feel this way about him. He is not my mate anymore. Get a grip Amara. I averted my eyes immediately.
Dad and uncle Henry seem little worried, so as Zachary and Mason.
“What is it dad? You seem worried” There’s a knock on dad’s office door.
“Come in Ethan” dad announced.
He bowed to my dad and stood close to me. I realised Zachary watching Ethan’s every move. He got some nerve for sure. Who cares anyway.
My dad spoke, “What’s the update with Joni?”
“Uncle Greg, we are still monitoring her. She and the babies are doing fine now. But due to her high risk pregnancy, we can’t take any chances. We are waiting till she completes her 8th month, which will be in next 15 days.
Then we might have to deliver the babies surgically” Ethan’s voice low and heavy.
I hold his hands, to comfort him. I sense Zachary’s shifting in his chair.
The worry on his face has turned into something I’m not able to decipher.
Dad is seeing uncle Henry. I’m sure they are mind linking each other.
“I see. I don’t think we have any other option left. Amara, you need to go alone with Alpha Gray and Beta Mason to their pack for now. They can’t stay away from their pack for any longer. Plus their pack needs medical attention as quick as possible. Once Joni’s delivered the babies,
we will send Ethan there” dad spoke, uncertainty laced in his voice.
“Uncle Greg, no. How can you send her alone?” Ethan protested.
Now everyone is looking at me, waiting for my decision I guess.
“It’s ok Ethan. Dad is right. I will go there first, you can come once Joni and the babies are one hundred percent safe”
Dad stood from his chair and came to hug me. Everyone else also stood up.
“I knew I can trust my brave pup. I’m so proud of you my dear” he said hugging me even tighter.
“Okay dad, you can let go of me now. I’m getting crushed here” I say to lighten the mood. Everyone in the room laughs at that. I even saw slight smile on grumpy Zachary’s face.
Dad continued, “Henry, please arrange everything needed for Amara’s departure. Go and start packing kiddo” he pat my shoulder.

Zachary’s POV
Finally the day has come, we are ready to take Amara with us. Only for medical assistance of course. I’m feeling more excited and happy than my regular self today. All thanks to this kind and gorgeous Alpha’s daughter.
“Our mate is coming with us. Now we can make her fall for us. I can’t wait to get back home” Aiden was acting like a high school boy with crush.
“But I don’t like that Ethan guy. Mate seems too close to that Beta kid. It’s good that he isn’t coming with us now. Let’s kill him when we get a chance” Aiden smirks.
I rolled my eyes at Aiden’s childishness. I remember where I have seen Ethan. It’s the same guy, who came with Amara to the club four years back. I didn’t like him then and I don’t like him now. I’m not jealous or anything but, I have my reasons.
In the afternoon, everyone gathered outside Blue moon pack house to see off Amara.
Luna Mary and William’s mate Rebecca are literally sobbing.
Little Colin is crying the most. I don’t even know if he can understand what’s going on in that small age.
What is he 1? But I guess he can sense his aunt leaving him.
As expected Ethan is also here, to send her off. He even got close with Mason. One more reason not to like him. Why the hell is he not mated till now?
I can see how much they all love Amara. Why would someone like me got paired with her. She is way too good for me. I just gave her pain and sorrow nothing else. She deserves so much love and so much more.
We packed our luggage in the SUV. I thanked Alpha Greg and Beta Henry for their great hospitality and big heart. They just helped me in many ways than they can imagine. We bid our goodbyes and left for the road.
I am sitting with Mason in the back seat, Amara insisted on sitting in the passenger seat in the front. Joe is driving the car. He is one of our best warriors. I didn’t like this arrangement but, I know she wants to avoid sitting with me in the back.
For most of the journey Amara was looking outside the window. I can feel she is sad, about leaving her home.
“So Dr. Amara, excited for the new place and new beginnings?” Mason broke the silence.
“Umm.. yeah sure. To be honest I’m both excited and nervous. And please call me Amara” she replied looking in the back mirror.
Is it only for him or for me too? I don’t wanna get cocky.
“I heard Alpha William will be crowned soon. He seems like such a promising leader. Nothing leas can be expected from Alpha Greg’s kids” Mason says with honest look on his face.
“Yes, dad will be retiring soon. He has been training Will since 2 years now. He was planning to crown him last year, but since my nephew was a handful for Rebecca, he decided to let Will spend more time with his mate and pup. Will is a great leader,
I’m really proud of him” Amara said with a sweet smile on her face.
It’s not wrong though, both of them are really great personalities.
William is strong, reliable and born to be a leader kind of a person.
Whereas Amara is kind, intelligent, brutally honest, feisty and very straightforward.
Both of them have very distinguishable qualities.
I really miss my dad in times like this.
I crave for the idea of healthy family dynamics.
“Mate is our family. We can make lots of pups together. Just convince her to forgive you” Aiden cooed. The thought of Amara carrying my pup makes me go hard. I straighten my pants a little and push Aiden’s thoughts away. He never helps does he?
Once I’m back from my thoughts I noticed outside. We have reached my pack borders. From here it’s only half n hour drive. It felt good to be back. It’s mildly raining but weather feels nice and cozy. I wish Amara likes it here.
Amara is looking outside the window, but then her phone started buzzing. It’s a video call from the one person, who is on top of my hit list nowadays, Ethan. I can see her screen from back seat clearly.
That prude is shirtless for some unknown reason. His abs and muscles are fueling my anger more. She is speaking with such a beautiful smile, I can’t concentrate on what they are actually talking.
I started to feel rage, Aiden is full on in hunting mode. Nudity is very common in our community. We often get naked before and after the shifting in our wolf form. That doesn’t mean I like how close this guy is to my mate, my Amara.
Aiden started pacing in my mind. “How dare he? I don’t like their closeness. You should have marked her when we first met. Let’s mark her now. Let me out, I will claim what is mine”
Aiden is fighting for control. Suddenly I see red everywhere. I can’t let this happen. If I let him out now, he will do something, which we both will regret later.
“Joe stop the car” I ordered.
Joe pushed the breaks. I can feel heat oozing out from my body. I can’t control it anymore. I’m about to shift.
“What is it Zach?” Mason asks.
I can see the confusion on everyone’s face. Even Amara, she cut the call and is watching me with curiosity.
“I need to get down here. You guys go ahead. I will join you after sometime” with that I got out of the car and started shifting mid air.
I am trying so hard to push Aiden towards the forest and not towards Amara. I ran like wind, till I could not see our car anymore. Aiden left out a sad howl to express our feelings. Anyone within a few miles range might have heard it.
