CHAPTER 74

It is very big news for Mayil that she is not Jagdish's daughter but someone called Shivam's daughter.... Who is this Shivam? ... She is an illegitimate baby. Which she didn't even know about. Her mother has been hiding a big truth for so many years. It seems to her that maybe there is no life left in her anymore. But while managing herself, she just wants to confirm that what her mother was told here is true. Mayil is somehow certain of what she has heard. She is absolutely wrong, and all she wants to hear is that Jagdish is her father, and whatever her mother is saying, she just said it in anger.

"You want to say I am... I am... not... Jagdish… Kaushik's daughter… He is…. My papa, all are wrong... You are angry... But don't say this...."

Her voice is so soft that even if someone is standing near her, that person cannot hear her. It looks like she's talking to herself.

Shweta is very angry. The only thing that bothers her again and again is that Mayil has betrayed her, just like Shivam. Shivam, whom she loved so much that even today she remembers him every day. Even today, she cannot believe that Shivam betrayed her and left her, while Shivam never came back nor tried to know about his daughter.

While she has loved Mayil so much since she was born, she never thought that she would betray her in any way. Shivam had betrayed her, but she could never forget Shivam's love. She used to love Mayil very much, considering her to be Shivam's last sign, but this deception of hers has broken her to the core. All hidden wounds turn fresh because of her sudden arrival and her betrayal. She is in pain; she is in such pain at the moment that she cannot see anyone else's pain.

How could she lie to her eyes while she herself saw how she was hugging the man? She can feel the love between them very clearly from the way she was kissing him; therefore, she remains here, deceiving her into believing she was abducted. She still remembers the CCTV footage where she was going very comfortably with the man. She is now fully convinced that Mayil is just making up stories here and nothing else.

She doesn't feel bad for herself at all but feels bad for Jagdish, who loves Mayil with all his heart. For the last 3 years, he left no stone unturned to find Mayil, and here this girl was living her life very comfortably. She comes fast to slap her but stops herself hard, turns her palm into a tight ball, and says.

"Shivam told me that he would talk to my father and his family members about our marriage. So he is going to his house, but... but he never came back. I knew he had cheated on me. Still, I searched for him everywhere. I went to every possible place where he was likely to be. I was screaming like crazy. Please don't leave me. I love you. Come back... just to find him and tell him that I love him so much, but he is gone... Not once did he think of me; not once did he think of you. It was just Jagdish, who didn't care about anybody, who gave you his name. He hid every truth from the whole world—that I was pregnant before marriage when you were born premature. He stood there everywhere to save you and me from humiliation. And you took the wrong advantage of that man's love; you should even give your life for that man, and you have cheated him. You should be ashamed; I am ashamed... You can be my daughter, but you proved that you are the daughter of the same cheater."

All her words are falling like burning lava into Mayil's ears. She is unable to say anything. Nor is she able to express her sorrow by shedding tears from her eyes. She is just listening to her, which is piercing her heart a million times. Sweta tightly clutches her hair and says it suddenly.

"Now you go back to the same man and don't show me your face again. Your face, the face with which I once lived my entire life, begins to disgust me, whereas I adore my Shivam every time I see you. I used to remember him. Now I will hate him as much as I hate you. Get lost from here... I had never hated him, even after his great deception. But today, because of you, all my love has turned into hatred. I only hate both of you, father and daughter. Now I join my hands and say that there is no need to even come in front of my Jagdish.... Don't ever come in front of him. If you consider me your mother, or if you, an adeceitful girl like you, have loved me as her mother even for a moment, then you swear on me never to come in front of my Jagdish. Let my friend understand that you have been kidnapped. Let him be in this deception, because this illusion is better than this deception. You are dead for me. You have betrayed my friend's love. I used to think all the time about how I would repay his favor, and you have ruined everything. I don't want to see your face. You are dead for me. I do not have a daughter; I am childless.... Go away……"

Shweta is so broken that she has no idea what she is saying or what she is not. All she knows is that, like Shivam, her daughter has also betrayed her, and she is unable to bear the deception. She turns around and goes to her room, where she first picks up her sleeping pills. She puts three to four sleeping pills in her hand and immediately gulps them with the help of water.

Mayil is broken. broken to the cores like everything shattered in a second, her legs turn and leave without thinking about it for a second. She walks out of the back door silently; she doesn't know where to go, and she doesn't want to know anything. She feels as if her life has suddenly changed; the man she's loved for the rest of her life is not her father. Today, her mother hates her. What is left in her life? She hates her life; she hates herself.

Today the weather is very bad, and light rain has started. The weather also wants to give her company while she is crying, but she is not crying at all. It seems that instead of her, the sky is crying loudly today. She just keeps going quietly. Immediately, a man comes running after her, who is especially guarding her for her safety.

As Mayil comes out of the house, he thinks that she may have come to find Mrityunjay. That's why he smiles and waves his hand to show his presence here. But as she did not see that man, he ran after her in panic and told her.

"Ma'am, what are you doing outside at this hour?" The weather is good for staying out."

But it is as if she has not heard anything or does not know anything. She is going by herself. Is there anyone around her or not? It doesn't make any sense to her.

She walks silently, her heart already cursing her. She wants to be alone; she wants to go away where no one can search for her. It's getting wet in the rain. The man is constantly talking to her about a lot of things. But she is neither listening nor giving any answer to him. She does not know what to do because she has already started getting wet in the rain. In such a situation, if her health deteriorates, then Mrityunjay will definitely shoot him. He immediately calls him.

MRITUNJAY'S POV

He returns with weary steps to the room where he had been talking only and only lovingly to her a while ago, her feelings still remaining in his arms. He still feels that he is holding her in his arms.

There are only and only sweet memories of her around him. How will he stop himself from missing her? He feels like he just turns around and takes her by force because he doesn't want to leave her there.

He hates Jagdish very much. He has no idea of this hatred or to what extent he hates him, but his hatred is defeated in front of Mayil's love. He can't do anything because everything hurts her. He loves her very much. He stands on the balcony, looks at the sky, and says softly.

"I am sorry... We cannot torment Jagdish anymore because his agony hurts my Mahi. I am sorry, Pakhu... Your brother is so helpless in front of her. I love her so much."

He immediately takes off his clothes and stands under the shower, as he does not want to remember Mayil at all, but Mayil's memories are not leaving him. Her smile, her innocence, her mischief—everything bothers him a lot.

It has been only one to one and a half hours since he left her there. His condition has become like this. He doesn't understand how he will live without her. How could he just keep asking himself the same question over and over again?

He wants to end all his troubles. He is thinking that he should turn around and go to Mayil once, take her in his arms, meet her parents today, and tell them that he wants to marry her and doesn't wait for anything. He never wants to meet Jagdish in life and doesn't want to see his face, but for Mayil, he will have to do this too.

The loud voice of the phone ring interrupts his train of thought. He tied a towel to his torso and came out. He checked the number, and his eyes widened.

"Is my Mahi okay?"

"I don't know, sir.”
