Chapter 15 Cal

CHAPTER 15: CAL

The sounds Luca was making were pornographic already and the scent of his arousal was back even stronger than before. Cal’s brow furrowed in concern for a moment when Luca pushed him off, but it quickly turned to a moan as he pressed Cal onto his back and hovered over him with raw desire in his eyes.

“You going to get me ready like a good boy?” Cal asked, an eyebrow raised in challenge.

“Fuck, yes,” Luca gasped, nuzzling at his balls before impatiently pushing Cal’s knees up so he could reach lower down.

Cal yelled in pleasure as his clever mate’s tongue lapped at his hole, probing and devouring like he was starving for it. Reaching down, he wrapped his fingers in Luca’s short hair and held him in place as he rocked down against his face, giving Luca the direction he knew he craved. “That’s right, baby. Just like that. So good for me. Show me how much you want it.”

Luca whimpered and redoubled his efforts. He looked like he was about to come from only this. They couldn’t have that. His boy wasn’t coming until he was buried inside him. Stretching to reach the bedside table, Cal grabbed the lube and squeezed some onto his fingers.

“Be a good boy and let me stretch myself for you. You can look, but no more touching,” Cal said, gently pushing Luca away.

“Cal,” Luca whined, the gold of his wolf burning in his eyes as he knelt between Cal’s knees and watched as he pushed two thick fingers inside himself and worked as fast as he could to get ready to take his mate’s girthy cock.

“Behave,” Cal warned, breathless from his efforts, as Luca couldn’t seem to help but reach out and try to help.

Luca scowled in annoyance, reaching for his own cock instead, and Cal batted his hand aside. “I said behave , or you won’t be coming tonight.”

It was an idle threat, but Luca gasped and squeezed his balls tightly, as if the words alone had almost made him give the lie to Cal’s words. Cal smirked and pushed another finger inside himself. Fuck, it had been too long since he’d done this and his cock was leaking like a damn tap onto his abs. Luca had been right. He was dominant enough that he seldom indulged in bottoming for his partners because that wasn’t usually what either of them wanted.

He wanted this more than he wanted to breathe.

Rolling onto his stomach, he pushed himself up onto his knees and elbows, Luca’s growl confirming just how explicit a view he was giving his mate and how much the primal position was doing for him. His mate kept himself under control, though.

“You’re waiting so patiently. Good boy,” Cal said, rocking back a little and arching his back so he was even more exposed .

“Cal, please,” Luca begged.

“You’re gonna lube yourself up, sweetheart, and then you’re going to push inside me and stop until I tell you that you’re allowed to move,” Cal said.

Luca moved so fast he could feel a breeze against his exposed hole and then he grunted out a laugh as his mate rammed inside him in one hard thrust. The stretch was the perfect burn of pleasure and pain, especially with his new shifter healing meaning what little damage he might’ve done was instantly healing up.

“Fuck. Sorry. I lost control,” Luca said, a whine of concern in his voice.

Cal reached behind him to grab his hip before he could pull out. “Good. I want you desperate for it. Did I tell you that you could move yet?”

Luca’s nose was buried in his neck as if he was hiding, but then his tongue flicked out and licked a path up his skin before sharp fangs nipped at his jaw.

“Are you sure you can keep it under control, baby? I don’t mind if you bite me, but I can’t live with you regretting it,” Cal said.

“Fuck. Don’t tell me that. You’re making my wolf wild.”

“Do we need to stop?”

“I can’t,” Luca said, his cock throbbing deep inside Cal’s body making them both groan. “I’ll manage.”

“Yes, you will. Because you are only going to do what I say. Nothing else. No stray kisses. No stray bites. Understand?”

“Yes. I can do that.”

“I know you can, baby, because I’m gonna help. You’re going to time your thrusts to my heartbeat. No faster. If you speed up too fast or I feel a hint of fang, you’ll feel a flash of ice cold in your balls from my magic. Understand?” Cal said.

Luca gasped and pushed in a little deeper as Cal used a touch of power to let him feel what he meant. “Fuck. It’s like your magic is penetrating me when I feel it inside me like that,” Luca said. “Feels so good.”

“It’s meant to. I’m not punishing you, just reminding you. Now fuck me like you mean it,” Cal said, leaning forward so Luca’s cock slipped out a little before pushing back onto him as he squeezed all his inner muscles to massage his length.

Luca let out a string of swear words in response, but he was a good boy and kept his thrusts in time with Cal’s heartbeat.

“How the fuck are you keeping your pulse so slow?” Luca growled in frustration a minute later as the slow glide of his thrusts threatened to drive them both mad.

How indeed? It was taking every bit of his concentration and years of meditative practice from his spellworking to control it. Their bodies were both slick with sweat already and Cal used the liquid to create a wave of cold across Luca’s chest. When Luca’s hips stuttered too fast, he let the magic seep into his balls just like he’d promised. Luca froze in place, breathing hard.

“Cal, please. I need to fuck you. Hard.”

“You can fuck me hard. Just hard and slow ,” Cal teased, but he was losing the battle with his self-control just as much as Luca was.

His heartbeat sped up despite himself as the shifter shoved his knees a little higher up the bed, pushing his shoulders down so he could change the angle to hit everything just right as he reached deeper than ever before.

“Finally,” Luca growled, speeding up his thrusts to match Cal’s racing heart and glancing against that spot inside him again and again.

“Fuck, I’m close,” Cal gasped, head hanging low as he pushed back against Luca until their bodies were slamming together in perfect harmony .

“Me too.”

“You don’t come until I do, baby,” Cal growled, sparking another whine of complaint from Luca that turned into desperate cries as Cal pulled the vibrating trick on his balls again.

“Fuck yes, Daddy! Please let me come!” Luca cried, and that word made Cal lose it.

Collapsing to the bed and humping at the sheets for friction like a fucking teenager, he came his damn brains out. Wave after wave of orgasm shot through his body as he milked Luca’s cock with his ass. The feel of Luca’s hot cum filling his body set him off all over again, sparking a second round of exquisite, shuddering contractions of pleasure.

Finally, Luca’s weight collapsed on his back and he stretched his legs out, letting his mate use him as a full-body pillow.

“So, Daddy, huh?” Cal asked, knowing he sounded smug.

Luca huffed against his skin and nipped his shoulder before rolling off him. “Shut up. People say all sorts of shit when they’re fucking.”

“Yeah. All the shit they usually just think,” Cal teased, rolling over so he could wrap an arm around his boy and pull him into an embrace, his head resting on his chest. The delicious ache in his ass was fading too quickly, and he needed to be wrapped around his mate.

“It was a one-off. I’m not going to start calling you that,” Luca said, his words slurring as his body relaxed and his eyes slipped closed.

Cal tipped his chin up and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. “You can call me whatever you want so long as we get to do that again.”

Luca smiled and kissed him again. His mate was much less prickly when he was all fucked out and sleepy.

“I need to clean up and change the sheets. I forgot how messy shifter sex is. I think I’m lying in a damn puddle,” Cal complained.

Luca growled and bit Cal’s nipple, making him hiss.

“Ow! What was that for?”

“You don’t fuck other shifters. Or anyone else. Just me,” Luca said, eyes still closed.

A grin spread across Cal’s face. His mate was jealous.

“The same goes for you,” he said, before gently extracting himself so he could clean his mate up and let him get the sleep he so desperately needed.

“I can’t tell you how much I’m regretting keying you into my wards, Vin,” Cal snapped the next day as he awoke to a damn vampire in his room again. That was how he’d ended up with Luca here in the first place. On second thought, maybe he couldn’t be too grumpy at Vin.

“I thought you’d appreciate a warning that the pack’s about to descend on you. They’re about two minutes behind me. I scaled the wall outside instead of taking the stairs,” Vin said.

Cal groaned and checked his phone as Luca stirred next to him. It vibrated with a notification from his security staff that they’d let the pack in per his orders as he was looking at it.

“I’m regretting giving the pack access, too,” Cal complained as Luca pulled away from him to sit up and glare at Vin.

“I’ll go make you some coffee, Sugar. You two look like you had the best kind of night to need it. I’m glad you sorted yourselves out,” Vin said.

“Get out of my m … man’s room, Vin,” Luca growled, stumbling over which m-word he was using .

Cal sat up and wrapped his arms around Luca from behind, kissing his neck. “It’s your room, too. You’re not going back to the guest room,” he said, holding his breath to see if it was too much and Luca was going to tell him to fuck off.

“We reek of sex. We need to shower before I can face my cousins,” Luca said, rolling out of bed.

Cal stalked behind him, eyes trained on all that bare skin as he flicked out a hand to reinforce the warding in the bathroom. Luca, sensing his magic, looked back at him in question.

“What did you just do?” he asked.

“Soundproofed the shower,” Cal said, crowding Luca into the tiled wall as he flicked on the water.

“They’re waiting for us,” Luca said.

“You better come quick then, baby,” Cal said, before dropping to his knees on the shower floor and sucking his cock into his mouth.

Ten minutes later, they emerged into the lounge mostly clean and with Luca looking more relaxed than Cal had ever seen him. He’d managed to suck another mark onto Luca’s neck that should stick around for at least a few hours after the last ones had faded when he healed. It was the only way he could get the wolf in him to lay off the constant urge to bite and claim.

Seven pairs of curious eyes tracked their movement as they entered, and Cal and Luca both paused to take in just how many of the pack had invaded their space. Damn. This was not good. In addition to Marco, Aria, Angelo, and Vin, they’d also brought Marco’s second-in-command, Silas, his fixer Bella, and the doctor Rafe back.

Stepping around Luca with a kiss to his cheek, Cal fetched them both the coffees Vin had left on the counter for them and returned to press one into Luca’s hands.

“Thanks,” Luca murmured, flashing him a tight smile, any hint of relaxation now gone.

“I like him. Luca’s happier here,” Bella said from where she was leaning against the glass of his balcony doors.

“He is,” Marco agreed.

Cal had never met Bella before, but he knew her by reputation. The stunning Black woman was a ruthless enigma. No one knew what kind of shifter she was. He’d thought maybe it was something shifter kind was keeping to themselves, but now that he had the benefit of their enhanced senses, he still couldn’t tell what she might be. She smelled of fire and old magic.

Ignoring the fact he was being spoken about as if he wasn’t in the room, Cal took the last remaining armchair and pulled Luca down onto his lap, surprised when the shifter came without complaint. His mate was genuinely worried. Cal wished he could do something to make it better.

“Is there a reason the top half of the pack’s leadership has shown up at our home at ass o’clock in the morning?” Cal asked, taking a sip of coffee.

Aria snorted. “It’s almost lunchtime, which you’d know if you hadn’t been balls deep in my brother all night,” she said.

“Give it a rest, Aria,” Luca snapped, clearly not in the mood for the teasing.

Cal was surprised he didn’t correct her assumption about who’d been in whom. Or maybe not, because he didn’t really feel like dissecting their sex life with his mate’s closest family, either .

“I spoke to Giovanni last night,” Marco said, putting an end to any more small talk.

Luca turned rigid in his arms, and Cal gripped his neck and started massaging it until he settled again. It was on the tip of his tongue to tell him how well he was doing, but he wasn’t going to do that in front of everyone. Instead, he pressed gently on the bruise he’d left on his neck and was rewarded with Luca curling into him even closer and resting his head on his shoulder.

“Did he do it?” Luca asked.

“He admitted nothing,” Marco said.

“But you wouldn’t be here if he didn’t do it.”

“You were right. We need to draw him out. The rest of the pack thinks the six of us have headed south overnight to negotiate a new partnership. I’ve called in the Elemental Mayhem MC for backup with that damn earth witch. I need you to call Giovanni and invite him out to The Lupinary tonight. It’s exposed enough they won’t be able to resist taking another shot. And when they do, we’ll be waiting,” Marco said.

“What if they ambush him on the way?” Cal asked.

“We’ll run decoys from the club and send you round the back road,” Marco said.

Cal couldn’t help the growl that slipped out of him as his fangs lengthened in a snarl. They wanted to put his mate in danger. He could be hurt, killed even. Not to mention the emotional damage if it turned out his uncle really had been helping the assassins targeting Luca. The Lupinary was an isolated shifter bar, barely more than a glorified natural amphitheatre past the city’s western limits with seating open to the moon. Even with a bunch of friendly shifters around, there were far too many ways this could go wrong.

His panicked thoughts were cut off by Luca dragging his head down and pulling him into a surprisingly deep kiss. It was probably just as well. He’d been glaring at Marco and he knew how the Alpha felt about being challenged. He didn’t really give a shit though, because he cared a lot more about his mate not dying.

“Uh… did anyone else see the newbie witch shifter partially shift when he shouldn’t be able to?” someone asked. He thought it might’ve been Silas.

“Cal’s unique,” Luca said once their kiss ended, still looking into his eyes with concern.

Sighing, Cal touched their foreheads together and let himself wrap his hand gently around Luca’s throat. He needed the feeling of control it gave him. Luca must’ve understood because all he did was tip his chin up a bit and lean into the hold, letting himself be vulnerable despite the audience.

“He’s an alpha even though he was made, not born,” Marco said.

“That is painfully obvious from how Luca’s submitting to him, thank you,” Aria said tartly, sounding thoroughly put out.

Cal flashed her a glare. “Don’t make your brother uncomfortable.”

“Don’t hurt him,” she snapped back.

“I’m not the one planning to use him as bait.”

“Enough!” Marco growled, silencing the room before turning to Luca. “I won’t make you do this, but you’re our best hope of drawing them out.”

Cal flinched as Luca met his gaze again. He could already see the answer in his eyes. Luca would do anything for his family.

“I’m going with you,” Cal said. He’d be damned if he left the magical protection of his mate to the fucking motorcycle club, even if he knew they had more resources at their disposal .

Luca nodded and took his phone out of his pocket, dialling his uncle and putting the phone on speaker as Cal held onto him with a punishingly tight grip he bore without complaint.

“Hey Uncle G,” Luca said, his voice too bright in contrast to the way his skin had become clammy. He looked like he might puke at any moment.

“Luca! Finally managed to tear yourself away from that stunning specimen of a man and call your old uncle, huh?” Gio said.

Luca laughed, but it sounded strained. “You didn’t get much of a chance to talk to each other before. We wondered if you’d like to come out to The Lupinary with us tonight? Cal wants to get to know the man who saved me.”

The pause on the end of the phone was telling. Something wasn’t right. “Are you sure, Luca? I could come visit you there if Cal wants to chat,” Gio said.

“We’ve hidden away long enough, uncle. We’re going to go out somewhere Cal isn’t the boss of everyone and have fun. I haven’t had enough of that. We’ll be there around nine,” Luca said.

“I’m glad you’re finding joy in life again, Luca. You spent too long going through the motions.”

Cal managed to release his tight grip on Luca and swapped to stroking down his arms in a soothing motion.

“Does that mean you’ll come?” Luca asked.

“Yes, Luca. You know I’ll always be there when you call,” Gio said, his voice a little too emotive for arranging a night out at a bar.

“Did you want to bring that guy from the other week? The one you said you’d tell me about when I told you I’d fallen for someone?”

An even longer pause. “I suspect I couldn’t keep him away if I tried,” Gio said. “See you tonight. ”

No one spoke for a while after the call ended. Aria opened her mouth and then seemed to decide better of whatever she was going to say. Cal only had eyes for Luca and the heart-breaking mix of confusion, betrayal, and hope he could see in his face.

“He didn’t sound like he wants me dead,” Luca said, finally.

“But he did sound like a traitor,” Marco said.
