Chapter Forty-One
Blair
The funeral was postponed as long as possible. Elena and I returned to work a few nights ago and started making arrangements. Come to find out, Stuart had a lot of people who loved him. The will reading was done last weekend and as expected, Wyatt was given his business and everything else in between. I told Wyatt that we couldn’t put it off much longer because the body would start decomposing soon and I would much rather not have to deal with trying to cover that up. They want an open-casket memorial service.
He kept his promise and began constructing a massive, secure home on the ashes of our enemies. I thought our current place was a dream come true, but it’s nothing compared to what he had planned.
As I walk into work, I head to the office to file papers from last night. I’m surprised when I see Kade sitting behind the desk. “Uhm. What the hell do you think you're doing? It’s only been two months. You just left the hospital yesterday. Go. Home.” Is he insane? Elena will be pissed.
He leans back in his chair and smirks, “Did you think that was going to work, sweetheart?” I roll my eyes.
“I’ll call Wyatt,” I threaten, and he laughs.
“You don’t need to,” hot breath fans my ear and I yelp .
He laughs and catches me before I can fall. “Not. Funny. Take him home.” I point at Kade, and he shakes his head no.
“Elena is going to kill you, both of you and I’ll let her.” Just in time, she strolls through the door and meets my glare.
Her eyes go to mine, then Wyatts, and finally they land on Kades. “You have got to be fucking kidding me!” She storms up to the desk.
“I missed you,” Kade softens his voice, and she scoffs.
“Go home!” She almost screams, and he shakes his head no.
She turns to look at Wyatt who is now wrapped around me. “I thought you weren’t afraid of her?”
“I never said that. I just know she won’t hurt you.” I roll my eyes.
“You.” She points at him, “Blair, Hailey, and I will be just fine. Take him home to rest. Wyatt, he just got out of the damn hospital for god's sake. Why are you even here?” she throws her hands up.
She goes to turn around, but Kade stops her and wraps her in his arms. He leans down and whispers, “I came by to check on my pregnant soon-to-be wife. Are you going to punish me for that?” I see her deflating. He rubs his hands over her small baby bump.
What is it with these men and knowing exactly what to say? “You’re not playing fair,” her voice trembles, and he kisses her neck. His hands slide down her body and she shivers.
Wyatt chuckles behind me, “I forgot how much you like to watch.”
“Stop it,” I warn, and he kisses my cheek. I wasn’t even watching them like that, but now I can’t help it .
Kade looks at me and then trails his tongue down Elena’s neck and she moans. I literally cannot pry my eyes away from them.
“I’ve been lying in bed recovering for months. Me sitting at a desk is not going to hurt me.” She takes a shaky breath.
Sighing, she shakes her head annoyed, “You stress me out.” He smiles into her neck, kissing it softly.
“You know, the perfect stress reliever is an orgasm, right?” My body tenses and all I can think about is getting out of here.
“Let me go,” I whisper, but Wyatt tightens his grip.
“No, I don’t think I will. I like watching you squirm.” He runs his hands over my thighs and slips them into my pants- I gasp.
“The funeral is tomorrow, Kade.” She tries to sound stern, but her voice cracks and he knows he has her. He looks at me and smirks, I look at El and she is staring right at us. Fuck.
A soft clearing of a throat makes me and El jump. “Sorry to interrupt, this uhm… meeting. But the girls and I have last-minute prep to do before tomorrow. So, if you don’t mind.” Hailey walks in and I feel like I can breathe again.
“This isn’t finished,” Wyatt threatens me. I feel his hard cock pressing against my back, as he slips his hand from my pussy.
Kade looks like he could kill her right now and Elena is so happy, like me, to get out of the room.
“Ladies,” she greets, and we both basically run from the room.
“Nice timing,” Kade scoffs and Elena giggles.
“I’m going to literally kill him when I get home. Who does he think he is coming in here like he owns the place?” I give her a look and she waves me off .
“You know what I mean.” She pulls out her phone and sends a quick text.
Walking downstairs to the morgue, we hear the top door slam open, and I look at her. "I may have told him we would have more fun without them," she says regretfully .
“Oh my god, Elena do you never learn?”
