Chapter Thirty
All three of them were currently working on the puzzle. Raynar had arrived several minutes ago. Bonnie had acted a little shy in the beginning but as they started working on the puzzle, she relaxed.
Rogan didn”t know why she got all shy around Raynar. She’d mentioned she hadn’t shown her Little side to many people, but Rogan thought there might be another reason.
He watched as Raynar and Bonnie each picked up a piece and tried to fit it in the puzzle.
“I think we should do the outline first,” Raynar gently said.
“No, Daddy Ray,” Bonnie replied.
Rogan loved hearing Bonnie call Raynar ‘Daddy Ray’. It fit him so much better than Papa.
“And why not?” Rogan asked.
“Because that”s no funs.”
Raynar and Rogan both lifted up an eyebrow.
“And why do you say that?” Raynar asked.
“Don”t you know?” She sighed. “I guess you wouldn”t.”
“Why do you say that?”
“Because it”s obvious you haven”t done puzzles before. Only the puzzle masters do the outline. We aren”t puzzle masters, especially you two.”
“Brat,” Raynar said.
Bonnie gasped and narrowed her eyes at him. “I is not a brat!”
“Of course you are! What do you call what you just did?”
“Telling the truth?” She gave him a small smile.
Rogan snorted and shook his head.
“Daddy,” Raynar turned toward him. “Did you just hear her?”
“Definitely did,” Rogan replied. “And I”m inclined to agree with Daddy Ray on this.”
The look Bonnie gave him when she realized he didn”t say her name was priceless. She was totally expecting Rogan to tell Raynar he agreed with her.
“Daddy!” she whined.
“No whining,” he reminded her.
She stuck her lip out and looked down.
“No pouting either,” Raynar said.
Rogan started to zone out as they both talked back and forth. How was he going to tell Hedda about Bonnie? She’d already seen Bonnie and no doubt had questions about who she was. Rogan hadn”t gotten any messages asking about her yet. Her Daddies probably told her not to ask, which he was grateful for.
He needed to wrap his brain around everything. Rogan wasn”t embarrassed about having Bonnie as his Little, but he also had Raynar and would need to explain that. He just needed to figure out the right time he could sit down and have a talk with his sister. Where both Raynar and Bonnie could also be present.
Rogan picked up a puzzle piece and put it together with another one.
“Daddy,” Bonnie whispered.
“Yes, Bon?” he replied and looked at her.
She was staring at him with huge eyes. “You got a piece!” She sounded so shocked and in awe.
“I did. You”ve gotten several.”
“But you”ve gotten more,” she pointed out. “I want to be like you. Almost a puzzle master.”
Rogan couldn”t help but chuckle. He bent over and kissed her forehead.
“Maybe if you watch Daddy closely you can figure out his secret,” Raynar said. “Take his advice about doing the border first.”
“No, Daddy Ray. We can”t do that. We aren”t puzzle masters yet,” she replied.
He looked over at Raynar to see him fighting back a smile.
“And how does one become a puzzle master?” Raynar asked.
Bonnie shrugged her shoulders. “I don”t know. You would need to ask a puzzle master that question.”
“And where would one find a puzzle master?” Rogan asked. “Maybe I can find one and we can ask.”
“I don”t know Daddy. I”m just a Little girl. I don”t know things.”
“But you know about puzzle masters,” he pointed out.
“Everyone knows about puzzle masters. You can watch them online or on TV sometimes. Competitions to see who can do it the fastests.”
Before Raynar or Rogan could reply, her phone started to go off. Rogan”s eyebrows went up. Who was calling her?
Bonnie went pale and quickly grabbed it. She got off of the floor, answered the phone, and walked to the other side of the room.
“Who is calling her?” Raynar asked.
Rogan pulled out his phone and pulled open the app. Ethan.
“Her brother,” he replied.
“You let her call her brother?” Raynar sounded shocked.
“Yes, I did. The phone is encrypted to where he can”t find out where her location is, no matter how much he tries.”
Rogan could pull up the app and hear what they were saying to each other, but he wanted to gain her trust.
“Can you figure out what she”s saying?” Raynar asked.
“I can, but I”m not going to. I need her to trust me, and I need to trust her. Though, if I need to, I can listen to it whenever I want,” Rogan replied.
Both of them watched her whisper into her phone. She looked pale and worried. Rogan didn”t like it at all.
“Something is up,” Raynar said.
“Oh, I know that. She called him the first time a couple of days ago and was jumpy after,” Rogan replied.
“Why do you allow her to talk to him? He is your enemy and all.”
Rogan sighed. “I need her to see that she can talk to him while being with me. As much as I would want her to have no contact with him, I can”t do that. They are siblings and are close. I would hate it if someone did that to me with Hedda.”
“What if she”s telling him secrets?”
“She doesn”t know any secrets and I know she isn”t. While she doesn”t want to go against her brother, she doesn”t want to go against me either.”
Rogan didn”t like that and he was going to fix it. He didn”t want to put her in a tough situation to choose between her brother or him.
“What are you going to do about… everything?” Raynar asked.
“I”m trying to set up a meeting with him, but he”s not replying to me,” Rogan replied. “But I”m persistent. We”re going to figure this out because I”m not letting her go.”
Bonnie turned toward them, still on the phone. Her free hand was shaking and she balled it into a fist when she realized both of them were looking.
“Whatever he”s saying to her is making her anxious,” Raynar said. “I don”t like it.”
“We”ll figure out what it is. Don”t worry,” Rogan replied.
Bonnie put the phone down and slowly walked toward them. She wasn”t looking either one of them in the eyes. What could Ethan have possibly said to her to make her act this way?
“What did you brother want?” Rogan asked.
She didn”t look up at him.
His eyebrows went up as her whole body started to shake. Something was definitely wrong.
“Come here, Bon,” Rogan said. “Come sit in my lap so I can help you calm down.”
Bonnie hesitated and slowly looked up at him. She shook her head, and she had tears in her eyes. Rogan hated to see her like this.
“What did your brother want?” Raynar gently asked.
“We”re not going to be angry, no matter what he said,” Rogan added, even though it likely wasn’t true. It was going to be hard not to get angry if Ethan did something bad. But he was going to try for her.
“I want you to know the phone is untraceable. So Ethan can”t figure out where you are. I”m keeping you safe, but you can still talk to him,” Rogan said.
Bonnie shook her head and took a step back.
“You”re okay,” Raynar said. “You”re safe here.”
She shook her head again, even more tears filling her eyes. Everything in Rogan wanted to tell her to stop crying, but he held it back. It was not the time right now. Whatever Ethan said to her was scaring her.
“Bonnie,” he gently coaxed, “you”re okay. Everything is going to be okay. Can you tell me what Ethan said?”
She took a shaky breath in and looked him in the eyes. He could see how scared she was and he didn”t like that.
“Did Ethan threaten you?” Rogan asked. “If he did, I can make sure he never finds you. I can get revenge on him if you want. Just let me know.”
She shook her head. “He wanted me to spy on you.”
