Chapter 39
Finally – Kayla
I know what I said about not putting a lot of pressure on this “date,” if you can even call it that. But he’s really proven himself to me by engaging in such simple and playful fun. I trust him.
Plus, oh my goodness, can that man kiss! I want to pray at the feet of whoever taught him to use his lips and tongue so irresistibly.
Then, when he eventually puts me back down on my feet, I take his hand and drag him back onto shore and down on the towel he brought.
I lay down first, but he pauses before joining me. “Kayla. You said—”
“Forget what I said. I want to do this. I promise.”
“You’re sure?”
I scoff before pulling him down with me. At first, he’s on top, but with one arm, he pulls me up and over him.
His hands then explore the back of my body as I kiss and nibble at his neck.
“I can’t believe this is finally happening,” he says into my hair.
“Right?” I also can’t believe we’re doing this in such a public place. Although, we are the only ones on the entire beach.
I soon feel him tug on the strings of my swimming suit.
“Is this alright?”
I sit up a bit and nod before discarding it entirely. Then, I relish as he takes in the view.
“My god. You’re beautiful.” He comes up and kisses each breast, the feeling of which makes shivers run down my spine. It also doesn’t hurt that I can feel how into this he is against my thigh.
He then kisses me, and my fingers tangle in his short brown hair.
Before I know it, we’re horizontal again, but he’s on top and making a heavenly attack on my mouth. But he also leaves a trail of his saliva down from behind my ear all the way to my belly button. However, I want more, so I pull him back up.
The heaviness of his pelvis against mine makes me feel crazy, and I slip my hand under his suit as we continue to kiss.
He then reaches for the pants he discarded and pulls a condom out of the pocket.
I laugh. “Well, someone came super prepared.”
Raising his eyebrows, he mutters, “Let’s just say I’m an optimist.” I watch as he uses his teeth to rip the corner of it off, pulls his bottoms down, and roll it onto himself. In hindsight, it seems a little silly that we waited for his STD results, as we were going to use protection anyway.
But it’s better safe than sorry, I suppose. Condoms break.
I also do my best to wriggle out of the remainder of my swimming suit before bracing myself for him to slide into me.
“Ready?”
“Yeah.” He slides one arm behind my back and clutches at my shoulder before positioning himself and using his other hand to assist in entering me.
The feeling of having Jack Shelley inside of me is wild, and I love it.
We then thrust against each other’s bodies, and the sounds escaping from his lips—almost guttural—make me even more excited.
“Oh, Kayla,” he says in between gasps.
I clutch at his back and hang on for dear life.
“Talk to me,” he demands.
“What?” I was lost in my own bliss.
“Talk to me. I love that.”
“Um, okay.” I don’t have much practice. “What should I say?”
“That has to come from you,” he answers breathlessly.
I’m scrambling my mind. “Uh, I like the feeling of you inside of me.” It’s the truth, after all.
“Oh, god,” he coos against my ear. “Yes. And you’re so wet. It’s so sexy.”
Ooh. I think I’m starting to understand why he likes dirty talk so much. “What else?” I encourage him.
He suckles at one of my breasts. “Your nipples are so perfect and so hard.” He flicks it with his tongue, and I writhe beneath him.
Eventually, I feel that delicious heat rise in my body, and I allow myself to be as loud as I want as I climax.
Next, it’s his turn, and I feel his body stiffen before he lets out a long moan.
And just like that, I’ve officially had sex with Jack Shelley.
When we’re finished, he goes into the water to clean himself up, and I try to discreetly as I possibly can pee in a nearby bush.
He then lays back down on the towel, and I join him after getting dressed again. We are both still breathing heavily.
He’s on his back, and I’m on my belly, so he rolls over and smacks my ass. “That. That is how it’s done folks.”
“You liked it?”
He scoffs. “Liked it? Kayla that was amazing.”
Good. I bite my lower lip.
“Hell, if I was a younger man, I’d insist we go again.” He turns back over, and I scoot closer before resting my head on his shoulder.
“Speaking of your age, I meant to tell you that you have some grays in this thicket of chest hair.”
He squeezes me tight. “Yeah, right.”
“No, I’m just kidding.”
After that, we just cuddle and listen to the meditative sounds of nature around us.
I managed to fall asleep—but who could blame me? On a gorgeous beach and in a handsome man’s arms? What else was I supposed to do.
But after rubbing my eyes and raising my head, I see that he’s fully awake.
“I’m so sorry,” I say after yawning.
His brown eyes peer down at me. “No need to apologize.”
“How long was I out?”
The corners of his mouth turn downward. “Maybe an hour or so.”
“An hour!” I sit up in surprise. “Why on earth didn’t you wake me?”
“You looked so peaceful.”
That is very sweet, but I also feel guilty for just making him lay there.
“What did you do to fill the time?”
“Well, I just enjoyed the quiet for a little bit. But then I started worrying about my meeting with Yannis tomorrow, so I started going through my talking points.”
“Which are?” I’m genuinely curious.
He joins me sitting up but raises his legs and puts his elbows on his knees. There’s some sand on his back, and I wipe it off.
“Lot of marketing strategies, projected sales increases, stuff like that.”
I lean over and kiss his shoulder, which I didn’t notice before had little freckles all over it. “Well, he’s an idiot if he doesn’t choose you.”
He sighs. “I mean, I agree. But he’ll also bring a lot to the table if he joins our team.”
“You mean, money?”
Jack chuckles. “Lots and lots of money.”
“Lots of money is good.”
“It is. And so is reputation. He’s very respected in the literary world.”
“I know.” I mean, I’m a fan myself.
“It’ll look really good for other prospective writers to see someone like him, who has otherwise been a bit of a recluse, trust a big publishing house like us.” He’s facing the water, and the waves are dancing in his dark eyes.
“Well, I’m sure you’ll knock his socks off.”
He laughs again. “Yannis Drakos is not the kind of person whose socks you can knock off, I’m afraid.”
“Fine. You’ll do whatever the equivalent of that is to a Howard Hughes fella like him.”
“Maybe I’ll get him to bust a jar of piss.”
I playfully smack his chest. “That’s disgusting!”
He raises his hands in the air. “Well, I’m sorry. You brought him up.”
True, true.
The sun is starting to set, so as much as I don’t want to, I suggest we should maybe think about getting back to the hotel. His big meeting is tomorrow, after all.
He groans but agrees. Then, he gets to his feet before helping me to mine.
“Hey.” He holds me back for a second.
“Yeah?”
He pulls me in for another kiss.
“What was that for?”
“To say thank you for an amazing date.”
I look down and smile. It was perfect.
