His Secret Little (Devil’s Wrath MC Daddies #5)
Chapter One
Aiden
The last few months had truly been some of the best he could ever remember having.
Aiden had thought he was happy before. He’d thought he’d found his place, but he hadn’t really understood how amazing it would be to have, not just one person accept him completely, but an entire group of people.
He no longer needed to watch what he said, or did, in any aspect of his life.
For the first time Aiden was being true to his authentic self, without any masking. It was an incredible experience.
His brothers in the club never blinked an eye at the changes Aiden had gone through over the months since Rocky had shown him how special he was.
They didn’t treat him any less like a valuable member of the team because he had stuffies on his desk and stimmed or got overstimulated.
They didn’t make things awkward knowing he preferred having a Daddy over having a Little girl.
They loved and respected him, he realized, just the same as they had before he’d ever come clean with them.
It was something Aiden had never truly experienced before.Total acceptance. He’d always been too much, or not enough, and now he felt like Goldilocks, having found someplace with people that thought he was just right.
He spent many hours working in his office at the clubhouse, making sure everyone was safe and that the club’s mission was never leaked to the wrong people.
Then Aiden got to go home to the most spectacular man, who helped him balance his need to protect by protecting Aiden from himself.
Aiden was teaching Daddy how to build things with LEGO blocks and they often played video games together.
Daddy took such great care of Aiden that the younger man never wanted for anything.
Well, almost never. There was still one thing Aiden wanted desperately that Rocky hadn’t given him.
And it was beginning to make Aiden wonder.
Still, he tried not to let it get to him.
Besides, Christmas was coming next month, and for the first time in his life, Aiden was looking forward to the sacred holiday.
It would be his and Daddy’s first Christmas together, and Aiden was determined that before the end of Christmas day he was going to get the one thing Daddy had been withholding from him.
Yes, Aiden was more than a little excited for Christmas. In fact, he couldn’t wait.
Rocky
“Are you ready to book?”
Rocky opened his mouth to reply in the affirmative but before any words could escape, a lump formed in his throat and sweat beaded his brow.
What was wrong with him? He was sitting there frozen, staring at the travel agent like a fucking idiot, but no matter how many times he tried he couldn’t even nod his head, much less get an answer to leave his lips.
“If you need some time to think, that’s fine. I can give you my card. I wouldn’t wait long, though. It’s a very popular destination this time of year.”
Rocky heard the words and everything in him wanted to shout he didn’t need to wait.
He wanted to book now, dammit. His boy didn’t ask for much, but Aiden had mentioned a few times to their friends how much he wanted to experience a New York City Christmas.
He deserved the world and Rocky wanted to give it to him.
But how was he going to do that when he couldn’t even tell the travel agent that yes, he did want to book.
He’d never hesitated to book any location when traveling with Seth. He’d never had any fear of flying or hang-ups about being away from home. So, what the hell was going on now, and how the hell did he fix it?
Leslie, the agent in the local travel agency, handed him a card and rose from her seat, effectively dismissing him. Rocky didn’t blame her. She likely had other clients to see. Ones that were actually ready to buy.
“Just give me a call as soon as you’ve made a decision.” Her tone held no hint of judgment. Nor did her expression, but Rocky didn’t need her judgement. He was plenty busy judging himself. What kind of Daddy couldn’t give his Little a simple vacation?
As Rocky walked out the door, he pulled his phone from his pocket and dialed his friend Collin. “Something’s wrong with me,” he stated as soon as the other line connected.
“You’re just now figuring that out?” His friend’s response didn’t surprise him and normally Collin’s joke would have elicited a chuckle at least, but not at that moment as Rocky was being serious.
“Very funny, man. But I’m being serious here.
” His words came out more irritated than he’d intended as he stormed down the street to his bike, but he couldn’t help it.
He wasn’t really upset with his friend, he was upset with himself.
Aiden had only asked for one thing from Rocky and he hadn’t been able to provide it yet.
He wasn’t intentionally holding back, the time just hadn’t been right yet.
But still, his boy had requested it of him multiple times and he hadn’t delivered yet.
Now, he couldn’t even book the vacation his lover wanted but wouldn’t ask for.
Rocky had overheard part of a conversation between Aiden and his friend, Rich, in which Aiden had stated he always wanted to experience a New York City Christmas.
He’d explained to Rich how he’d been moved around a lot as a child but had never left the state of Texas.
He’d never seen a white Christmas or even really celebrated Christmas before.
Since then, he’d heard Aiden speaking about one day going to New York a few times.
Rocky was determined to make their first Christmas together one Aiden would remember for the rest of his days.
That wouldn’t happen, though, if he couldn’t book the damn trip.
Rocky rubbed his chest where tightness had gathered, making getting a good breath more difficult than it should be. He thanked heaven when Collin’s voice became serious as he asked, “What’s up?”
Slowly and deliberately, he explained what had happened with the agent, wondering what was happening to him as each word became more difficult, his chest became tighter and catching his breath seemed to go from difficult to near impossible.
Reaching his bike, he leaned his weight carefully on it, put the phone on speaker and set it on the seat, then concentrated on trying to breathe. “…And now…I’m pretty…sure…I’m having…a heart…attack.”
He heard his friend mutter a curse as rustling sounded through the speaker before Collin’s voice came again, “Where are you now?”
“Main…and First. By Ralf’s.”
“Stay put, I’m in Ralf’s and I’ll be there in just a minute. Do you have any aspirin on you?”
“No. Just Tylenol.”
“Shit. Okay, hang tight, I’ll be right there.”
Aiden
Aiden was just finishing up for the day, and saving a file on his computer, when his office door burst open and Rich came rushing in like hounds of hell were on his ass, making Aiden almost jump out of his seat.
“Dude, what’s your hurry?”
“Pup,” Rich exclaimed between panting breaths, “it’s Rocky.
” Aidan‘s heart jumped into his throat and he felt like he couldn’t breathe.
What was wrong with Rocky? Rich didn’t make him wait for an explanation, though, continuing on before he had a chance to voice his question.
“Collin’s treating him right on the side of the road over by Ralf’s.
I don’t know what for, but you need to hurry. ”
Without a single thought to what he’d been doing, Aiden leapt from his chair and rushed out the door with Rich following close behind. He made it to his bike in record time and didn’t check to see if his friend was following before hopping on and tearing down the road at breakneck speed.
All he could think about during the short drive was what he would do if he lost Rocky.
He didn’t think he would ever recover. He just found his Daddy.
There was no way he could lose him now. Rocky taught Aiden how to be the person that he was with no apologies.
Now, Aiden was sure that he could never go back to hiding.
Rocky
It was taking all of the effort within Rocky to keep pulling air into his lungs. His chest burned and spots danced at the edge of his vision. How long would it be before he passed out? He didn’t think it would be long. Rocky just hoped that Collin made it there in time.
His breaths were coming in shorter bursts and sweat was forming, dripping down Rocky’s face when he saw his friend rushing toward him.
A glass in one hand and a medical bag in the other.
Collin skidded to a stop in front of Rocky and dropped the bag unceremoniously on the ground before digging into his pocket and producing a little white pill.
“Open,” Collin demanded and Rocky immediately obeyed. There was no one he’d trust more with his health than the man before him. Collin placed the pill on his tongue before holding up the glass to Rocky’s lips. “It’s aspirin, swallow it down.”
As Rocky complied, Colin reached into his medical bag and pulled out a stethoscope. He put in the ear pieces and proceeded to listen to Rocky‘s heart.
“Do you have any pain in your arms?” Rocky shook his head. “Trouble breathing?” Rocky nodded. “Point to the spot that hurts the worst in your chest.” As Rocky followed that direction, Collin let out an audible sigh of relief. “It’s not a heart attack. Have you ever had a panic attack before?”
Rocky was shaking his head in response when a familiar voice rang out and the crowd parted, revealing Aiden rushing toward them.
His face was a mask of fear and worry and Rocky had a moment of guilt for being the cause.
If there was any person in this world that he never wanted to hurt in any way it was his Little boy.
Aiden had already had enough pain in his life, Rocky wanted him to only experience joy for the rest of it.
He’d been so caught up in the sight of his boy that Rocky hadn’t realized he’d stopped breathing at all until Collin shouted his name and instructed, “Breathe! Follow my breathing.” He placed one hand on Rocky’s chest, took Rocky’s hand and placed it on his and took a deep breath, just as Aiden took hold of his other hand and held on tight.
“Good, breathe in for a count of four. One, two, three, four. Now, hold for four. One, two, three, four. Now out for four…” Rocky followed instructions until the squeezing sensation in his chest lessened, his vision cleared, and he was finally able to breathe with little effort.
“Good job. It wasn’t a heart attack. You, my friend, just experienced your first panic attack. ”
What the hell? He’d never had a panic attack in his life. Why the hell would he have one now? His thoughts must have been broadcast on his face, because Collin didn’t make him ask.
“I’m a physician, not a psychologist, but my best guess is that you have unresolved issues from Seth’s death and trying to book the trip triggered a trauma response in you.”
Rocky was considering Collin’s words and weighing their validity, when Aiden squeezed his hand harder and asked in a desperate voice, “What trip?” Aiden cupped Rocky’s cheek and turned his face so they were looking each other in the eye.
Rocky was shocked by the pain in Aiden’s gaze as he asked, “You’re leaving? ”
