Chapter 28
Sky had no clue where he was going. He might even be going around in circles for all it mattered. His lungs burned, and the muscles in his legs screamed at him, but he refused to slow, even when thunder cracked above and rain started to fall.
His alpha had ordered him to make this realistic, which promised that Kian’s half of the bargain would also play out realistically once he caught him.
It wasn’t like the party or the carnival.
On both of those occasions, Kian had come upon him like a phantom, appearing out of thin air with no warning.
This time, Sky knew. His mind had time to flick through all the possibilities, comb over every hidden fantasy and dark desire in the hopes that even one of them might actually come to pass.
Anticipation and adrenaline kept the cold from processing in Sky’s mind as he raced through the trees, surrounded by darkness on all sides.
But he was hyperaware of whenever the alpha drew near, could feel his presence even if he couldn’t catch sight of him.
It didn’t take long for him to realize Kian was messing with him, taunting him by getting close, only to back off right when Sky thought he’d pounce.
Frustration warred with the arousal, but if this were real, Sky wouldn’t stop and yell at his attacker because they hadn’t jumped him yet.
He did, however, stop trying to quiet his steps, brushing against low-hanging branches and snapping twigs beneath his feet so the sounds carried loudly.
It wasn’t like they both didn’t already know he wanted to be caught.
His clothes clung to his body, sweat making his skin sticky. It wasn’t the only thing.
Slick squelched between his cheeks, streaming from his wanton hole, no matter how hard he tried to clench it shut. A burst of omega pheromones poured out of him the next time he sensed Kian, and it must have been enough to finally break through the alpha’s patience.
The alpha’s hand suddenly shot out between two trees, grabbing a fistful of Sky’s shirt. He wrenched him off his feet, tossing him to the ground hard enough to cause Sky’s teeth to rattle from the impact.
Before he could regain his bearing, Kian’s body dropped over his, pressing him into the dirt.
Sky fought back, clawing at him—careful not to go anywhere near his face—and kicking and squirming. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t dislodge the weight of the alpha, and before long, his pants were torn from his legs and tossed aside, swallowed by the dark night.
“Hey! I need those!” he protested, but Kian’s mouth dropped to his, silencing any further complaints as one large hand cupped him between the thighs. Sky gasped, forcing his hips to try and escape that touch even though all he really wanted to do was grind up into it.
That wasn’t the game though.
That wasn’t something a liar would do.
The hand was gone too soon, and in the next instant, he felt the unmistakable press of the alpha’s solid member.
Kian’s cock plowed through him, drawing a startled cry from Sky’s lips. With one hard thrust, he forced Sky’s body to open, fucking him into the muddy ground with an animalistic growl.
Sky whimpered and presented his neck, but the alpha wasn’t nearly as out of it as he seemed, laughing at his poor attempt.
“Beg me,” Kian rumbled, nipping at his shoulder instead. When Sky’s silence spoke of his refusal, the alpha surprised him by pulling out and moving away. “Up. Run, little omega.”
He swallowed his confusion at being let go and scrambled to his feet, shooting between the nearest tree trunks. Kian didn’t give him nearly as much time to escape this round, and he didn’t bother being quiet as he stalked forward and came after him.
This time, when he caught him, he tossed Sky against a tree, lifting his right leg and spearing through his entrance in one move.
The bark scraped against Sky’s back as he was pinned and fucked against it, but the tingles were pleasant in their own way.
Knowing how badly Kian wanted him made him feel wanted.
“You’re dripping for me,” Kian purred, his voice almost inaudible beneath the rain pinging against the leaves above them.
“I’m soaked. I can feel you making a mess of my cock and my thighs.
If this were the real Wild Hunt, I would sequester you away.
Hide you in a safe place where I could breed you and claim you without fear of interruption.
I couldn’t chance anyone trying to steal you from me. ”
Sky’s brow furrowed. “No one is stealing me from you.”
“I dare them to try.”
“I don’t.” He wrapped his arms around Kian’s neck and tugged him closer, scraping the tips of his tiny canines against the side of his throat. An omega didn’t need to bite his alpha to complete the bond, but many did. The allure of placing a claiming mark on their mate was too strong.
Sky understood the appeal.
He could feel the desire to bury his teeth in Kian’s flesh.
“You want to,” Kian said. “Do it.”
He shook his head, not sure himself why he was being so stubborn.
“I’m yours, Sky. I’m yours whether you gift me with your mark or not.”
“You marked me.”
Kian grunted. “Yes, well, you’re a little liar. I needed to claim you before you could find yourself locked in a bathroom with another alpha.”
“I’d just tell him what I told the last one.” Sky grinned, moaning when Kian altered the angle of his thrusts and his cock struck his prostate.
“What’s that?” Kian seemed half out of it, distracted by his lust.
Sky didn’t like that. He was saying something important right now. Revealing something important.
He captured the alpha’s head between his hands and forced him to meet his gaze.
“I’d tell him that I already have an alpha,” Sky began, a thrill shooting through him when he saw the flash of recognition enter Kian’s cerulean gaze. “I’d tell him Kian Erskine is my alpha.”
“Truth.” Kian hummed in understanding, playing along. “I heard he doesn’t like to share.”
“Nope,” Sky agreed. “And he’s possessive as fuck.”
“I heard he chipped you,” he slammed into him, punctuating the rest of his sentence with the battering of his cock, “like. A. Dog.”
Sky growled and grabbed fistfuls of Kian’s hair painfully. “Too soon.”
The alpha yelped and almost dropped him but regained his footing.
“Sorry, baby, sorry.” Kian covered his face in butterfly kisses, the softness a hard cry from the way he continued to drill Sky’s abused hole. “If it helps any, I’ve also got one.”
“You do?”
“Yeah. It’s to ensure the safety of the Dominus.”
Sky considered this information. “What’s the access code?”
Kian laughed. “I’ll give it to you later.”
“Alpha.”
“It’s not a trick,” he promised. “I really will. You have every right to know where I am and when. Besides, I like the idea of you getting off to a tiny blue dot whenever we’re apart.”
Sky frowned. “What?”
“Never mind. The point is you can have it. Just later, once my hands are free.” He squeezed Sky’s ass pointedly.
The alpha lowered his mouth, sucking on Sky’s nipple through the thin material of his t-shirt, but Sky wasn’t done talking.
“Kian, why did you come to the tournament today?”
“It was your last one. It seemed important. And I missed you.”
“Can all psychopaths miss people?”
“I don’t know about others, all I know is, you’re the only one I’ve ever missed.”
“Really?”
“I miss you all the time.” Kian hoisted him up so both legs were around his waist and kept thrusting.
Sky rested his chin on the alpha’s shoulder and clung to him. “How are you so honest?”
“Lying to myself only hurts myself,” he said. “Lying to others…I’ll do it if it’s necessary. I’m no saint.”
“That revelation is shocking,” he drawled.
“Lie.”
“It’s called sarcasm,” Sky corrected.
“It’s called,” Kian pulled out, ignoring Sky’s protests, and set him back on his feet, “being too distracted to fully enjoy your alpha.”
“I was!”
“Run, little omega.”
“Again?”
“Why, too tired?”
It wasn’t that. “If you don’t let me come this next time, I swear I’ll never put out again.”
Kian had the audacity to snort at him. “Yeah, because that threat worked so well for you the first time. Don’t think I’m not still planning on making you beg. You can’t break the rules that easily.”
Sky stuck out his tongue and then ran, dripping slick as he went, practically leaving a scent trail for the alpha to follow.
His pheromones were spilling out of him uncontrollably, his arousal too great to care.
This time, once he was caught, he’d insist on getting the knot.
No more of this teasing starting and stopping bullshit.
He didn’t make it far. The alpha slammed into him from the side and they both went down. He’d slipped himself back into Sky’s body before the omega had even fully settled onto his back.
Sky cried out as he was rutted, grabbing mindlessly at the sleeves of Kian’s dress shirt. “Knot me! I want it!”
Kian captured his weeping dick and began to stroke him in time with his thrusts, quickly rushing Sky back to that edge. “Spread your legs wider for me.”
He did, widening his stance, wailing when that opened him up for a deeper intrusion.
Seemingly annoyed with having a barrier between them, Kian tore Sky’s shirt in half. “No one is out here,” he reasoned when Sky protested. “The only reason I didn’t strip you sooner was that I was afraid you’d get all scratched up running through the wilderness at night.”
Sky wrapped himself around Kian’s body when the alpha settled back over him, crying out when his dick rubbed against the alpha’s stomach, delivering the right amount of friction to have him gushing. “Hurry.”
“I’ve got you, baby,” Kian hushed him. “Almost there.”
They both lost control, panting and going at it with all their might, their bodies coming together as loud as a war drum, ricocheting through the branches of the trees. The rain had soaked them both, but neither seemed to notice that or the mud coating their skin, smearing between them.
“Come for me,” the alpha commanded, jerking Sky’s leaking dick furiously enough his flesh turned red.
When Kian kissed him, Sky exploded, emptying out between them as his inner walls clenched around Kian’s cock, incentivizing him to join him in orgasmic bliss.
The alpha buried his cock all the way past the knot with one final thrust and held as his appendage swelled, locking them together for the foreseeable future. He kissed him all through it, swallowing his mewls and his whimpers, rocking his hips to keep them both in freefall for as long as possible.
Sky drifted, his mind fracturing as his body entered oversensitivity. There was nothing to focus on, too many sensations to pick from, and he swept through the motions of being conscious of the alpha’s lips and tongue, to the feel of his lower region stretched and aching.
At some point, the kiss finally ended, but only so Kian could press his lips to every available inch of Sky’s bare skin. He murmured things as he did, sweet, soft, possessive things, but Sky couldn’t catch and hold onto those either.
He had no clue how much time had passed before he came to. The alpha was carrying him, and his dress shirt was now tied around Sky’s waist to shield his nakedness.
“Did I pass out?” he asked, not bothering to lift his head from where it’d been resting in the crook of Kian’s neck. It was warm there and smelled nice, so why should he.
“Only for a few minutes,” Kian said. “The car is a short distance away.”
He huffed. “Is that your polite way of saying I didn’t get very far?”
“Don’t fret, omega. There’s always the real All Hallows’ Eve. Should I be kind and count this as a warm-up?”
“Honestly? I have no idea if I’m going to be up for doing this again tomorrow. I’m worn out.”
“I know. I took the opportunity to check while you were…sleeping.”
Sky scowled. “Stop staring at my asshole, you creep.”
“I—” Kian went stiff all of a sudden, and in the next instant, he was dropping Sky and spinning to shield his body.
The sound of a gunshot ripped through the air, and a second later, Kian jerked.
Sky’s eyes went wide as he stared up at the alpha, his reflection peering back at him within those blue irises.
Another shot rang out, and this time Kian dodged, shoving Sky away from himself and toward potential cover.
