Chapter 7

“Where are you taking me?” I asked as I looked out the window. We were headed out of the side of the city I was familiar with. We’d crossed the tracks and headed toward the countryside. Cade’s Cove was a beautiful city with a lot of different types of areas to get lost in.

“I’m positive where we’re headed is somewhere you’ve never been before.”

“I’ve done a lot of things in my life, so I’m curious to see if you’re right or not.”

“I have faith I am.”

I hummed. “We’ll see.”

It would be our second official date that Marcus has planned.

Most of the time we were both too tired to go out.

However, we had a couple of days to get lost in the world together before opening night.

When the season started, I was sure our time together would be more limited.

I dreaded it but was also excited to have the season begin.

I was optimistic about our championship probability.

“If you’re a serial killer and you plan to hide me in the woods, tell me that now so I can get a head start on my escape route,” I teased as I took in the rustic scenery. There were two off road four wheelers lined up on the dirt path.

“Ava, shut up.” Marcus laughed.

“We’re going mudding?” My eyes lit up.

“Yes. I watched the interview you did on SportsCenter last week. I figured this would be the perfect preseason date. Get out some of that tension before tip-off tomorrow.”

I smiled. “You’re full of surprises.”

“C’mon, baby.”

He parked his car, and we got out. He held my hand as he led me over to the four wheelers.

He helped me climb onto mine. He explained how everything worked before he mounted his seat and brought his four-wheeler to life.

He revved the engine, and his vehicle roared and sped down the dirt path.

I mimicked his motions, but my movements were not as smooth as his were.

My vehicle jerked forward, and I yelped in surprise.

“Are you okay?” Marcus asked as he looked over his shoulder at me.

“Yeah. I’m okay.” I pulled the gas and headed along the winding path.

“Don’t fall.”

“I’ll try my best.” I revved the gas and zoomed through the first mud patch. The splat was epic.

“Yeah, bae! Good shit!” Marcus pulled up beside me. He hit the gas and sped off ahead of me. He hit the next pool of mud and hit the brakes. The spin of his wheel sprayed up a lot of mud.

He ended up spraying me a little. “Hey!”

“My bad.”

“You did that on purpose.”

“I promise I didn’t.”

I rolled my eyes. “Yeah, right. You trying to race the rest of the path?”

“You don’t want those problems.”

“You sound scared.” I started clucking like a chicken to tease him.

“When you lose, I don’t want to hear no whining.”

“Never that. I’ve been trained to handle myself in losses.”

He laughed. “True.”

We lined up outside of the mud and counted down together. When we both said one, we zoomed down the path. I avoided the mud as best as I could because it would interrupt my speed.

We were neck and neck until Marcus cut through the mud to get to the finish line before me. I pouted as I stopped at the end of the path.

“Fix your face. I told you don’t whine.”

“I’m not whining!”

“C’mere, crybaby.” He hopped off his four-wheeler and headed to me. I climbed off the four-wheeler and crossed my arms.

“You hate me?” I asked.

“No. I love you.”

My eyes widened at his words. Finally .

“Ava, I?—”

“Shh.” I closed the distance between us and wrapped my arms around him. “I love you too.”

“If we weren’t covered in mud, I’d fuck you on this four-wheeler.”

I shook my head. “Marcus please. You’re such a horn ball. People are going to think all we do is fuck.”

“Nah. We do a lot more. We bond. We play. We push each other to grow. The sex be a bonus.”

I licked my lips. “Yummy. Can we make love tonight?”

“Fa shit sho. I actually rented a cabin. We’ll ride the four wheelers up to the path. I’ll be damned if we get any mud in my damn car.”

“Oh, I knew that. Anyway, let’s get cleaned up so I can lick you from head to toe.”

“Come on.”

“I still don’t feel all the way clean,” I complained as I drank the wine in my cup.

We’d showered and eaten a lovely dinner of lamb chops, mashed potatoes, and asparagus.

The wine was strong as hell. It was almost thirty percent alcohol in the bottle, but it tasted like juice, a dangerous combination.

We were both two cups in, and I could feel the lust grow with each glance we shared.

“You showered for like forty minutes. You’re clean.”

“I think maybe you should wash me this time. Foreplay?”

His smile was big and mischievous. “I’ll wash you.”

“Well, when you look like that, I start to think you have ulterior motives.”

“Nah, all of my intentions are pure, baby. I’ll wash you really good and make love to you. I’ll slow stroke you and tell you how much I love you until you’re quaking in my arms. Then?—”

“Marcus, please. My pussy is throbbing already. Don’t do this to me.”

“I want to do this to you, baby. I want to watch you unravel all over my dick. I want to watch the moment you reach your peak and your soul leaves your body.”

I fanned myself with my hand as I downed the rest of my wine. “You’re going to drive me crazy.”

“Crazy in love?”

“Something like that.”

He laughed. “I think the wine has me a little filthier than I planned to be. It doesn’t help you’re absolutely breathtaking.”

“I’m literally bare faced, in nothing but my robe and panties.”

“The simplest form is the sexiest to me. Yeah, you’re beautiful with makeup on, but your unfiltered beauty is my favorite.”

“Thank you.” I bit down on my bottom lip and looked away.

“Don’t do that.”

“Your gaze is intense right now, baby. I can’t look at you without blushing.”

He reached his hand out for me to grasp. I locked our fingers as his brown eyes looked me over.

“You asked me to make love to you, so come on over here and let me get started.”

“They’re going to burn this cabin to the ground when we leave. It’s about to get filthy.”

“I love that for us.” He tucked his bottom lip between his teeth and motioned for me to come sit on his lap. I obliged. The sweatpants he wore left little space between me and his growing erection.

“You’re not going to make it through another shower.”

“Who ain’t?”

“You and him.” I rubbed his dick through his sweatpants.

“I have great restraint, baby. You know this.”

“You’ve been really reckless with your mouth tonight. I don’t know if wine-drunk Marcus can hold out long enough to give me a nice scrub.”

“Wanna bet?”

“Yes.”

“Name your bid.”

“If you can’t wait to put it in until after my shower, you have to… let me play on your 2k account on your stream.”

“Cool. If I hold out until after your shower, post me on social media as your man.” He smirked.

“You think I’m hiding you from the world?” I joked.

“Maybe.”

“You’re cute.” I rubbed my fingers along the back of his neck. He rubbed my ass softly as his eyes closed. We stayed like this for so long, I almost dozed off. If it weren’t for the firm smacks every few moments, the rubbing of my ass would have put me right to sleep.

“Baby?”

I looked up into Marcus’s eyes. “Hmm?”

“You ready to go take your bath?”

“Yes.”

I motioned to get off him, but he kept his hands on my ass as he stood up with me.

I yelped in surprise as I wrapped my legs around his waist. He carried me like a baby koala to the bathroom and set me on the counter.

It was weird to have a man lift me and treat me so softly.

Most men saw my height and build and used them as fuel to crack jokes about me.

I wasn’t allowed to be feminine and soft when I towered over most boys growing up.

It wasn’t until high school that I finally saw boys taller than me.

“You make me so happy,” I blurted out as I watched him turn on the shower.

“You make me happy too. I enjoy every moment we spend together, whether tangled in the sheets or just existing. I mean it when I say I love you. This feeling is too raw and real to be anything else.”

I kicked my feet and smiled. “You sure know how to make a girl feel good.”

“That’s my job. I want you to feel peace. I want you to feel contentment. I want you to feel safe. I want you to be my wife one day.”

My cheeks ached from the intensity of my joy. “I want all of that too.”

He dropped a lavender mister into the bottom of the walk-in shower. The bathroom steamed up as he removed his clothes and grabbed fresh towels to wash and dry off with.

“Come on. Let me wash you.”

I removed my robe and allowed my panties to pool at my feet before I walked over to the shower and stepped under the spray of the nozzle.

It was us, the soft music playing from the speaker, and the hot water.

Every atom in my being was content. This was what fairy tales felt like.

This was what R&B songs were singing about.

This feeling was unreal. This feeling was euphoric.

This feeling was better than any high possible.

Marcus indeed kept his word, and I lost the bet.

I didn’t care, though. The arousal was too powerful.

I barely made it to the bed before he was on me, though.

He started at my toes and kissed up my body.

He spread my legs and dove headfirst into my pussy.

He ate me slowly and steadily. He wasn’t trying to make me cum.

He just enjoyed sucking on my clit for his own pleasure.

Marcus was a true eater, and I loved that for me.

“I wish I could stay in this moment. I wish I could pause time and live here forever.” I clung to him as he dug deep into me. His strokes were slow, calculated, and tantalizingly precise. Each stroke tapped my soul. Each stroke hugged my heart. I held him as if he were my lifeline.

My heart beat for Marcus.

My pussy creamed for Marcus.

My soul danced for Marcus.

My body called out to Marcus.
