Epilogue
Some Time Later . . .
Life was good for the Wicks. Citrell proposed to Sundae at their one-year anniversary celebration to which she accepted.
Neither wanted a long engagement or a big wedding.
They wanted their ceremony and celebration in the place where their hearts and music first met.
Eight months after the proposal, Wicked Strings was closed on a busy Saturday for a very special wedding and reception.
The wedding planner that was hired turned the space into something that was out of a dream for the couple and forty guests.
Naturally, their reception included karaoke.
Less than five months after Citrell and Sundae united as one under God, their family, and a wall full of guitars, Callira was formally adopted by Sundae.
This was another reason to celebrate. The day that the adoption was finalized was also the day that Auntie Wynsdae went into labor with her and Marco’s son, Auhgist Yeerle.
Callira made the proclamation that she wanted a party to celebrate Sundae as her “real mommy” and her Auntie Wynsdae becoming a mommy. Everyone agreed.
Although life had been great for the Wicks, it came with a few unexpected bumps.
One of the biggest bumps turned blessing was the addition of Princess to their family.
Her parents pending divorce ended in tragedy when her father opted to take the life of her mother.
That led to Princess being orphaned. There was no way that the Wicks would let that happen.
The adjustment of now having two children with down syndrome was busy but worth it.
The support system around them was paramount.
Sundae and Citrell agreed to wait a couple more years until they tried for a child.
They wanted to ensure that Princess’s adjustment to the loss of both parents, one by death and the other by incarceration, was more bearable for her.
Sundae overheard her girls consoling each other about the losses of their mothers.
Although the losses were very different, they were losses, nonetheless.
Iesha was still around Iesha-ing. The same man that she chose over her daughter was the man that she opted to have her second child with. Unfortunately, that was when she found out that he was only there for the lodging and the pussy.
Based on the social media coverage of Iesha’s life, her other daughter’s father played it cool until the day after the baby was born.
He was there for the birth. By the time she went home with their daughter two days later, he had moved out with his things and a lot of hers.
It was assumed that he felt she didn’t need her furniture.
It did appear that Iesha was trying to be a mother to this daughter.
The jury was out on whether it was out of love or clout.
Citrell nor Sundae cared as long as she stayed away from their daughter.
Wicked Strings’s business skyrocketed over the years.
When the business next door closed, Marco and Citrell bought the space to expand their business.
They needed the space since they were at a place where they had to turn away too many patrons on their karaoke and lovers’ den nights.
Wynsdae and Sundae started something when they performed all that time ago.
Their mother came in from time to time as backup for them, and Citrell’s mother came in to play the keys.
Those nights were specialized for the old head couples.
Citrell and Sundae had successfully moved their chords game from once a quarter to once a month.
The pleasure during their game, like their thirst for each other, was unquenchable.
Between the strings that tickled the center of Sundae’s core, the voice that picked at Citrell’s soul, and the love that harmonized between them, it was guaranteed that their love would be an endless song filled with beautiful chords.
