BLYTHE
Chapter Eighteen
Speeding to the jail I couldn’t focus on anything, but what the hell counselor Rosewood’s wife said.
I could hardly sleep last night and my only goal this morning was to see my momma and get some answers.
How the hell did she know my family. Her words were stuck like glue in my mind.
Ruined her life for the third time? How?
What was she talking about? I never knew her before I met her husband.
And she called me a whore like my momma and poor excuse of a human like my brother.
What did she know? Who the fuck was she really?
So, my focus was figuring that out, today. I didn’t care that it wasn’t my normal visitation day. I needed answers. My life was spiraling and I felt like a freight train was rushing toward me full speed.
Sitting at the table my knee bounced violently. My palms were sweaty and I was getting a massive headache. Why was all this shit happening at the same damn time. My only goal was to get my momma home and make partner, but my past was chasing me down and progressively gaining on me.
“Baby girl? What’s wrong? Why are you here?” I looked up into the worried eyes of my momma. She had her hair up in a high bun and her skin glowed like she did a face routine. I didn’t even hear her approach but looking at her made me calm down a little bit.
“Hey momma, sorry to be here when it isn’t our scheduled day, but I need to ask you some questions.”
“It’s fine baby. What’s wrong?”
“Do you know who Linda Rosewood is?” She frowned and her eyes shifted as if she was searching her memory bank for answers. Sitting down in front of me she still looked confused.
“Rosewood, Rosewood, Rosewood. I don’t know love. Who is she? Should I know her?”
“The only thing I know about her is she is Counselor Steve Rosewood’s wife.”
“Oh, the gentleman that helped with my case? Okay. Did something happen? What’s going on Blythe? I feel like you are dancing around the issue.”
“There is a lot, and I promise to explain later but she came to my job yesterday screaming about me fucking my way to the top, excuse my language. And ruining her life for the third time. Momma I never knew her until I met her husband and did some research on his family. She was also screaming about me being a whore like my momma and a poor excuse of a human like my sorry ass brother. I couldn’t figure out how she would know who my momma is or my brother.
” I put my face in the palm of my hands. What the hell was going on.
“Hey, don’t worry baby. I will be home soon, and we will fix whatever all this is.” She pulled my hand away from my face and patted it gently.
“Yes ma’am. I just feel like something bad is gonna happen. She looked crazy, with her wild curly red hair and blue eyes. And that accent. She can’t be from here.”
“Accent?”
“Yes ma’am.”
“Baby does she have a scar above her left eyebrow?”
“Yea. Do we know her momma?” I sat up in my chair hoping she knew something, anything.
“That sounds like Calvin’s sister. But her last name is Williams. Linda Williams.” Alarms sounded in my head. She knows exactly who my family was. My momma killed her brother. So that makes two times I may have played a part in her demise, but what is the third?
“Jesus. Momma, her husband is my sub.”
“What the hell is a sub, Blythe Renee Livingston?” I smiled subtly at her deep frown.
“I will explain I promise. We don’t have enough time. I just needed to come get some answers. Thank you, momma. Truly.” I stood and embraced her.
“And she’s hugging first. Oh yes child you better explain as soon as I get out of this nasty ass place.” I chuckled before walking her to the main cell door and seeing her off.
This was all a tangled mess. Why the hell didn’t I know they were related. Making it to my car I pulled out my Dom phone and dialed Counselor Rosewood. It rang twice before sending me to voicemail. Before I could dial again a text came through.
Rosewood: Hey, can’t talk right now boarding a plane. But we need to talk as soon as possible. Please.
Mistress Venin: Call me as soon as you return, don’t bullshit me or you will regret it.
Rosewood: Yes, Mistress Venin
I had tasked him with finding out why Lloyd was in my house and finding the other villain from my past, Wylder. But I didn’t know if I trusted him anymore. I remember seeing him in a picture with Lloyd, but I thought it was related to the office. Now I wasn’t so sure. I guess I would find out soon.
Before I could put my phone away. I got an alert on my phone.
It was a new sub request. “Jeremy Williams,” I read out loud.
The cutie I slipped my last card to from the club, the judge’s son, and Linda Rosewood’s brother.
Ironic but perfect timing. I would definitely get insight on who the fuck this family really was.
I stuffed my phone back in my purse and headed home.
Pacing the floor I ran through every encounter.
Nothing was connecting on why I didn’t know who she was.
Calvin’s family didn’t show up to my momma’s trial and my testimony was recorded in the judge’s chambers.
I never met Calvin’s family because as soon as they found out my momma was Black, they stopped speaking to him and threatened to kill my momma.
But he loved her, so I thought because he stuck around.
My head was spinning and I felt like I was completely off my square.
Starting with me meeting with Rosewood in public.
I knew I shouldn’t have switched up my routine.
Never not once have I ever met my subs outside of the venin room, but Counselor Rosewood proved more than trustworthy.
As soon as I got home to see if any damages were done to my place, I reached out to him to look into a few people from my past. In return I met with him twice, once in the Venin Room, where he was most deserving and obedient.
Because of him my mom was granted release.
She would be out in two weeks with time served and no probation.
And he was working on the other request.
In my eyes I owed him his time. He requested we not meet in the Venin Room the second time but at dinner.
He wanted to talk and get to know each other.
And that meet up most have been where his wife seen us.
Honestly the interaction was kind of off.
He didn’t treat me as his dom. He spoke softly as if I was precious.
Almost like a father would speak to his daughter.
I didn’t pay it any mind. Like I said I owed him this, and after my time with Pharaoh this wasn’t what I wanted anymore anyway. It wasn’t as satisfying as it once was.
I didn’t know his wife was following us and would storm into the office and fuck everything up. I had to do some serious ass kissing. I just made partner and this hoe was tryna ruin that.
After calming Pharaoh down. I had to talk to the staff and explain that it was all a big misunderstanding.
Then Autumn and I had to meet with Mrs. McCallum.
That lady read us for filth then invited us both to dinner.
I wanted to be mad at how she went off on me for tarnishing her reputation, but I understood completely.
I have been here for years and there has never been a peep of office drama.
Then the moment I am named partner all hell breaks loose.
She told me I was on my own with damage control.
I thought for sure Autumn, and I were both fired but she said she somewhat understood.
She also said that I better be at her place for dinner Friday night along with my best friend.
So here we were standing at the door with two cakes in hand waiting to be granted entry.
“Oh my God, finally I have sisters.” The cute girl I met at the bakery, the day I met my aunt for dinner answered the door. She rushed us both hugging us at the same time. She pulled back and ushered us inside. “I am Thea. Please come in.”
“I remember you. It’s nice to see you again.” I spoke stepping in and admiring their spacious home.
“I am Autumn. It’s so nice to meet you.” Autumn spoke sounding nothing like herself. I looked over and she had a phony smile plastered on her face.
“Nice to meet you, Autumn. I admire you for putting up with Jah. His ass is the worst.” She rolled her eyes and we all chuckled easing the tension.
“Well come on. Let me show you to the washroom. Dinner is ready.” We walked behind her admiring the decor.
Gold accents really gave the home a palace like feel.
Family photos coated the walls, all in fancy frames.
I glanced at a few noticing how handsome Pharaoh has always been.
“Right through there. Come out and turn left to get to the dining room.” She pointed before leaving us to it. I could tell she was the princess of the family. She glowed and gave off spoiled little sister energy, even at her big age.
“Girl, do you see this damn house?” Autumn whispered once we were alone in the restroom. “I feel like they built the house in gold bricks off the backs of Egyptian slaves.”
“Ha.” I bellowed out. I swear her ass always said the most outlandish shit. “I swear I can’t stand you.”
“Mmmhmm whatever. Mrs. McCallum better be careful. Ima ease my way right in. Nurse Mr. McCallum’s ass back to health. Sit my ass right here in this palace on my damn golden throne.”
“Bitch what? Why? Rajah’s ass is paid too.”
“Not like this. Bitch they got a damn gold sink. I bet its real too.”
“I ain’t fuckin’ with you.” I chuckled before drying my hands and leaving her in the restroom.
Rounding the corner the smell of food invaded my nose. It smelled so damn good and made my stomach growl.
“Hungry huh?” I damn near jumped out my skin at the voice speaking behind me.
“Mr. McCallum. Jesus, you scared me.”
