23. Pharaoh
Chapter Twenty-Three
PHARAOH
“Where Blythe?” I made it back to Jah. He was moving his fingers across his phone. He looked like he was deep in a conversation because his text was a paragraph long. But only his side has messages. No responses.
“She went to the bathroom. You good? We bout to be out.”
“Yea I’m straight. I’m bout to be out too. This got damn girl man!”
“Who, Autumn?”
“Yea. She ain’t answering her phone. I swear I ain’t dealt with no bull shit like this since high school.” I chuckled at how stressed he looked. “I’m out.” He stood and prepared to dap me up.
“Wait for us, we can walk out together.” I looked toward the bathroom doors expecting Blythe to be walking this way.
It had been a minute, and she should have been done cleaning herself up.
“I’ma go grab her.” Walking toward the women’s bathroom I could see a line of women waiting to go in. I scanned the faces, none of them her.
“Yo did y’all see a chick in a gold dress go in there?” I asked no one in particular.
“No.” They spoke shaking their heads and looking around. I barged in not giving a fuck about them being mad or yelling for me to get out.
“B? You still in here? B?” Everyone was looking at me like I lost my mind, but something was telling me shit wasn’t right.
“I seen a girl running out the back door a little bit ago. She looked like she was chasing a guy.”
“Which way?” I asked the girl getting too damn close for comfort.
She backed up and pointed. I took off the way she told me.
Bursting through the back door. I scanned the area not seeing anyone in sight.
I moved quickly down the walkway and towards the alley.
It was quiet as fuck for it to be Halloween night. Nobody around.
Preparing to run back inside and see if she somehow walked by me, I scanned the area one last time. Out the corner of my eye I noticed something glowing in the middle of the alley. Walking towards it I realized it was Blythe’s mask. Panick took over my body, and I pulled out my phone to call her.
I ran back inside to grab my brother so we can find her ass. I knew I should have went with her, something told me not to let her out of my sight. I know she was stressing about the guy that raped her coming back to see her and I still let her go to the bathroom alone.
“Fuck!” I yelled out as soon as I got to the door. Moving through the crowd quickly I didn’t give a fuck that I was pushing muthafuckas out my way. My fuckin’ girl was missing, and I had to find her fast.
“What happened?” Jah looked up noticing the stress on my face.
“We gotta go now! I think somebody took B.”
“Took B? What the fuck you talking about nigga? Who took her?”
“It’s a long story. Call Autumn and see if she has a tracker or some shit on her.
” Blythe’s purse rested on the table; I scooped it up and opened it looking for her phone.
I prayed she had her shit on her and not in this bag.
My eyes landed on it before I could even finish my thought, along with a pearl-colored pistol.
“Fuck! Her phone is in her purse. Get Autumn on the phone bruh.” I moved toward the entrance shoving people out the way.
Clyde was standing across the street next to the car.
I rushed to him demanding the keys. “I will drive!” I enforced not giving a fuck about him questioning me. I had to find my girl.
“Aye, get yo ass in the back bruh.” Jah spoke to Clyde before jumping in the passenger seat.
“Did she answer?”
“Nah, I told you her ass is MIA too.”
“Try from my phone.” I threw the car in drive and raced out the lot. I had no idea where to look but I needed to find my girl.
“Nothing.” Jah spoke hitting the end button on his phone.
“Here try from her phone. We gotta find her man.”
“This shit locked. I can’t get in it.” He fumbled with the phone trying multiple times to unlock it.
I made it to Blythe’s aunt Ruby’s house in no time at all.
I needed to find her. I would never fuckin forgive myself if the weird ass white boy hurt her and I didn’t protect her like I said I would.
Barely putting the car in park, I sprinted towards the front door.
Banging like a mad man I didn’t let up until I was met with the barrel of two guns.
“Daddy long leg, why the fuck are you banging on my door this late at night like that?” Aunt Ruby and Ms. Dawn lowered their guns and looked around me.
“Where is Blythe?” Ms. Dawn wore a panicked expression.
“I don’t know. She said she needed to go to the restroom. We were preparing to leave. Fuck I should have gone with her.” I put my hands on top on my head and paced the porch.
“Come in here boy before they call the police.” They both stood back and ushered me in. “And who are you?” Aunt Ruby spoke to my brother. I didn’t even notice he was standing with me I was too focused on the issue at hand.
“I’m Rajah, his brother.” He spoke in a professional tone.
“Oh lord there’s more of you. You packing heavy artillery too child?”
“Excuse me?”
“Never mind. Come on in here let me get my phone and clothes on.”
“Ms. Dawn. If I can see your phone. I know she is always with Autumn, maybe she has a tracker on her. She isn’t answering Jah’s calls or mine. I have Blythe’s purse and phone so we can’t track her from it.”
“Of course, let me get it, it’s in the kitchen.” She moved quickly out the living room, and I sat down pounding my fist to my head.
“We gonna find her bro.” Jah spoke. I wasn’t feeling at all confident.
“Here?” She came back handing the phone to us. Jah took it and dialed the number.
“Hello! Hello? Ms. Dawn what’s going on? Everyone is blowing my phone up.”
“Bitch where the fuck you at? Everybody calling yo triflin ass.”
“Jah?” She spoke confused
“Autumn its Pharaoh.” I snatched the phone. The last thing we need was for her to hang up. We had bigger issues. “Blythe is missing. I need you to track her location. I don’t know how you can do that because I have her phone but we gotta find my baby.”
“Missing, what the fuck? Umm okay. I don’t have any tracking device on her.
We only share locations. I can check her cameras at her house.
Hold on.” The line grew silent. I could only hear the sound of bass from speakers in her background, but you could barely hear it.
Like she was in a room or something. “I don’t see anybody in her place. I’m on my way to y’all now.”
“Bet.” She hung up and I got up pacing the room.
“Don’t worry baby. We will find her.” Ms. Dawn spoke but I didn’t have it in me to respond. I fucked up, bad. I just told her I would protect her and then somebody snatches her ass up.
I was feeling like a bitch right now. My chest felt tight and I couldn’t focus on shit but the thought of my girl being hurt and worse raped. She’s been through enough and I was supposed to keep her safe.
It took Autumn twenty-five minutes to get to Ms. Ruby’s house but to me it felt like forever.
I couldn’t stop pacing and running back through what the hell could have happened.
Jah called the club to pull the camera footage from the back of the club and Ms. Dawn called the police.
Of course, they said the famous bullshit, they couldn’t file a missing person’s report until she was missing for forty-eight hours.
I didn’t want their help no fuckin way. Because when I found this bitch ass nigga, I was sending his ass to hell where he belongs. The less witnesses the better.
“Hey, anything?” Autumn spoke rushing into the Livingroom.
“Let me talk to you real quick.” Jah stood ready to walk off with her, but I stopped him before he could.
“Nah, handle that shit later, we gotta find my fuckin’ girl.” He sat back on the couch with a scowl on his face. He looked like he was both hurt and angry. But I didn’t have time to check in. We could deal with the petty shit later.
“Okay, umm, I pulled up her cameras, still nothing. Did we call the police? Can they pull camera footage?” She asked question after question.
“Yea, all of that.” Jah spoke still pissed off.
“Yall come on in the kitchen let’s sit at the table and put our heads together.”
I don’t know what we would come up with because all I had was names to go off of. I had no idea how each person’s situation related to the other, but I needed to try and figure it out. All I can say for now is I wasn’t gonna rest until I got my girl back.
