Chapter 31 #2

“I’m sure you say that to all the women you bring down here,” she says, more jealous than she intended.

She didn’t even hear him cross the room, but when she looks up, he’s standing right in front of her.

She can’t control the flick of her eyes that goes right to his waist, eye level with what’s already growing in his pants.

Somehow, seeing the proof that on some level he’s attracted to her makes her feel better about her own thoughts.

“No women,” he says, chuckling at the jealousy in her voice. “You’re the only one I’ve ever allowed in here.”

She thinks about that for a second, shocked that with a face like his, he isn’t bringing women home every night.

She’s positive that when he goes out, mask or not, women throw themselves at him.

She doesn’t think too much about it, letting herself feel special for being the only woman to be allowed in his bed.

He sinks back onto his knees in front of her and she sucks in a sharp breath.

He looks up, her green eyes shining with lust as she looks down at him.

“Spread your legs for me, love.”

Her eyes go wide. “You want me to spread my legs… for you?” she says, voice low and sultry.

“I need to see the scar again, but if you have other ideas, I would love to hear them,” he says, swallowing hard, eyes drifting to her legs as she slowly spreads them, shaking her head in embarrassment.

He licks his lips again as he moves his hand up her leg, looking for the scar once more.

Seeing that sends Liz spiraling. The only thought in her head is his lips on her thigh, his tongue even higher.

Luckily, the pain in her legs draws her attention from his mouth.

She watches as he pulls out a small device from his pocket and runs it over the scar on her leg.

As soon as it goes over, it lets out a few sharp beeps.

He moves it further down, then to the other leg, making sure nothing else is setting it off before putting it back over the scar, causing it to beep again.

He pulls it from her leg and tosses it onto the bed behind Liz.

He keeps his hand on her, slowly rubbing his hand up and down, enjoying the softness of her skin.

His eyes keep wandering to the red lace panties she has on, the ones he picked out for her.

There is only one thought in his mind… pushing them aside and burying his face between her legs.

His grip tightens and she doesn’t try to hide her soft moan.

Riley removes his hand from her leg, standing to lean over her.

He holds himself with his arms on either side, forcing Liz to lean back with him.

His lips inches from hers, she looks up at him through thick lashes and lets out a small breath.

He can’t fight his pull to her anymore. Riley starts to lower his head, going agonizingly slow, giving her time to stop him if that’s what she wants.

His heart starts to race when she doesn’t.

He keeps going, lips almost against hers when there’s a sharp knock on the door.

Riley sighs, resting his forehead on hers.

“I’m going to kill whoever is on the other side of that fucking door.”

“Are you guys good in there?” Mikey yells from outside of the door.

Riley groans, reluctantly pulling himself away from Liz.

“We were until you fucking knocked!” Riley shouts.

He turns back to see Liz sliding off his bed, knowing the moment they shared is over.

“I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable. My mask has never come off in such an…

intimate way before. I got caught up in the moment. ”

Riley tries to avert his eyes from Liz who is still half-naked and standing by his bed. He fights the overwhelming urge to throw her back onto it and finish what they had almost started.

“Are you okay? Do the scars freak you out?” he asks, looking around for where his mask ended up.

She looks at him, eyes softening when she hears the insecurity in his voice.

She starts to walk to him, before becoming painfully aware she still has no pants on.

Turning around to look for them she says, “No, not at all. Honestly… I like them, they add to the whole rugged, Greek god thing you have going on.”

Riley walks to where she stands, wishing the moment they had earlier had not been ruined. Still wondering what her soft, pink lips would feel like on his. His eyes drop to her perfectly round ass, now on full display before him, unable to keep from looking.

“I should probably put my pants back on,” she says, glad he can’t see how much she is blushing right now.

“Yeah, I don’t think Mikey will be able to focus on anything else if you don’t.”

“Are you sure you mean Mikey? Don’t pretend you haven’t been staring at my ass the whole time I’ve been turned around.

I can’t say I blame you, all that training gave me the body of a Pixar mom,” she says, bending over to pick up her pants, knowing he won’t be able to stop himself.

Liz slips into her pants and turns to see that she was right, he’s watching her get dressed.

She prances to him, more at ease now that she’s fully clothed.

“I’ll cover for you if you need to go take a cold shower,” she says, glancing down at his pants, no longer hidden by being on his knees before her. She bounces on her tiptoes and gives him a quick peck on the cheek before opening the door and disappearing.

Liz heads back to where the men are sitting around the table. Legs still slightly wobbly from the way Riley touched her, she struts to the table and plops herself into one of the empty chairs.

“Where’s Reaper?” Alex asks, already starting back up with his sour attitude.

“Riley just needs a minute to compose himself,” she says, shooting a wink at Alex, just trying to piss him off.

He narrows his eyes and watches her, tapping his fingers on the table in annoyance. He only looks away when Riley comes walking back in, adjusting his belt as he does. That one simple motion got all eyes on him, looking at him like he did more than just look for some device in Liz’s leg.

“Why the fuck is everyone staring at me?” he asks, not at all happy about the attention his team is giving him.

He pulls out the chair next to Liz and sits, ready to get their meeting over and done with.

“She definitely has something in her,” he says, holding a hand up and turning to his friend. “Don’t fucking say it, Mikey.”

Mikey’s mouth snaps shut with an audible click, not surprised Riley knew what he was going to say before he got to say it.

“It’s some type of electronic and they made sure to put it somewhere that’s not going to be found.”

“It’s got to be a tracker,” Tyler says to the group.

“After what her brother said, that’s the only thing it could be.

That also lines up with what Rocco told us.

Apparently they know she’s somewhere around here, and they are planning another attack,” Tyler adds, not sure if it was the right time to drop that on the team.

The whole group goes silent, not knowing what to do with the information that they are being tracked or that Dmitri is planning another attack.

“We need to get that device out of her leg,” Alex says, looking at Riley.

“What good would that do? They already know I’m here, even if you carve it out of me and fly it across the world, he will still look here first,” Liz snaps at him.

“So, what are you suggesting?” Alex asks her.

“I don’t know. Unlike you, I’m not some highly trained soldier. All I’m saying is he’s not going to give up on coming here, even if I leave,” she says, crossing her arms and sinking further into her chair.

They sit in silence, minutes ticking by, trying to think of a way to get Dmitri off their tails while they regroup and recover. A few different ideas float around, but nothing sticks, they all know they won’t be able to pull things off with the resources they have right now.

“What if we lure him here?” Mikey finally says.

“He’s going to track her. We let her out on her own, find a safe place she can go to everyday.

He knows he crippled us with that attack, but we know he’s in the same boat.

It’s going to take time for him to make a move.

If he sees she has a pattern, he will use that, thinking he has the upper hand.

It would make it easier for us to prepare. ”

“No way in fucking hell do we do that!” Riley yells, standing from his chair. The only thing keeping him from breaking Mikey’s jaw for even suggesting that is Liz watching his every move. “She’s not bait. Find another way,” he says, storming down the hall and slamming his door behind him.

Liz wishes she could follow him and thank him for thinking of her safety, but she can’t.

Her safety isn’t more important than theirs.

Liz thinks about all the people who lost their lives during the attack at Fort Stryker, all because of her.

She won’t let these men risk her lives for her without risking hers for them.

“I’ll do it. Enough people have died because of me. I’ll try to talk to Ry when he calms down.”

Alex simply nods before getting up and stretching. He looks at Tyler and they both walk to the elevator, stepping in without muttering another word.
