Chapter 14

Chapter fourteen

Johnny

Johnny had stretched out on his couch with a milkshake in hand, ready to tackle some Housewives, when his phone rang with Gavin’s ring tone. He wasn’t surprised by Gavin’s call. They spoke regularly, but he was happy to hear from him. “Hey, Gav!”

“Johnny, what’s going on, babe?”

“Nothing.” He took a drink of his milkshake. “What about you?”

“I want to see you before the next race.”

That kind of shocked him. A little. Good thing Johnny loved surprises.

Being able to see Gavin again sooner than expected got Johnny’s stomach all fluttery inside, so he went with it.

“That’s great. Are you coming here?” He’d been going along with Gavin from the beginning and saw no reason to change that.

Gavin would probably take him to some fancy restaurant and hotel like the last time, but Johnny didn’t care.

Gavin gave him his flight information and insisted on renting a car, so Johnny wouldn’t have to do anything but get ready. Even that was easy since he was wrong about the fancy restaurant and hotel. Gavin wanted to stay in.

When he got there the next evening, they ordered pizza and settled on the couch to watch a movie. Before it was even halfway through, they started kissing and touching. The heat between them ramped up until Johnny was panting loudly and Gavin growled.

“Bed. Now,” Gavin commanded.

Who was Johnny to argue with that? Gavin had already stripped him on the couch, so dropping his pants in the hallway was easy. He was naked by the time he bounced on his mattress.

Gavin followed him in, discarding his own clothes. “I do like the sight of that. Naked Johnny, waiting for me.”

Johnny held his hands out. “Come and get it.”

Then Gavin fucked his brains out, and he would never be able to set foot in the room again without getting a hard-on.

Gavin was a kinky fucker too. He’d had Johnny in several different positions but only after the butt plug vibrated in his ass while he sucked Johnny off.

Gavin’s sexy antics cut Johnny’s refractory time to mere minutes like some kind of horny teenager.

After the amazing-as-usual-with-Gavin sex, they went back to the living room couch to watch the rest of the movie.

Johnny queued the movie on Netflix to where he could remember they left off while Gavin puttered around in his kitchen.

It seemed surreal how at home Gavin acted in Johnny’s space.

Then he did something that won Johnny’s heart completely.

The blender kicked on. Then Gavin brought him a chocolate milkshake.

Gavin wins!

A weird sensation flooded over Johnny, sitting there, enjoying the milkshake, snuggled against Gavin, watching some movie—he didn’t even know what it was about—feeling warm and cared for, not to mention well fucked.

Those little fluttery things in his stomach sent echoes of their chaos into his chest. He turned and looked at Gavin.

They’d hardly said two words since Gavin arrived—aside from the sexy commands in the bedroom.

He didn’t need to have a long conversation.

Gavin showed him with his actions. Everything Johnny needed to. ..to be happy. Johnny was happy.

“What?” Gavin growled.

“Nothing.” He tried to keep from giggling, but the bubbles of laughter snuck out.

Gavin took his almost empty glass and set it on the table before grabbing the remote and pausing the movie. “Seriously, what?” He glared at Johnny with demanding eyes that amazed Johnny with how it ignited his refractory period all over again.

He smiled wickedly. “I’m happy right now.”

“Good, I want you to be happy.”

“I’m a lot happier when you’re around.” Johnny meant it as a lure to get Gavin to come around more often, but it kind of sounded pathetic. He couldn’t deny the truth, though. He’d been lonely for years, and Gavin took that away. How could he not be happy?

Gavin leaned closer, taking Johnny’s hands. “I want to ask you something. I don’t even know how to say this. It’s—I don’t know, not me.”

“Are you breaking up with me?”

“No!” Gavin practically jumped off the couch. “No, no, no. The opposite. I want to be exclusive.”

Johnny chuckled, but his cheeks pulled tight in a big smile. “As far as I’m concerned, we are and have been. I haven’t been seeing anyone else. Not for a long time.”

“I haven’t either. But I wanted to make it official. Make sense?”

“Okay, it’s official. But I still want things to go slow. I don’t know how it can work out with your job taking you everywhere. You travel, like, all the time. And I still have to figure out the rest of my life too.”

Gavin smiled, smugly, and leaned back into the couch.

“Come here.” Johnny snuggled up against him, content to be there.

Gavin seemed okay with everything, but Johnny worried he wanted to move faster.

He couldn’t define their relationship, but at least he knew they definitely had a relationship. They weren’t just screwing around.

Gavin turned the movie back on, but after a few minutes, Johnny started squirming around.

“You’re not watching this, are you?” Gavin asked.

“Uh...no.”

“Let’s go to bed.” He turned the TV off and took Johnny’s hand. “It’s all good, Johnny. I promise.”

Johnny exhaled loudly, deciding to trust Gavin. He hadn’t trusted anyone other than Pilot and Uncle Gary since his father went off the rails when he had come out as a teen. Trusting Gavin was huge. He wished he had the words to tell Gavin exactly how much that meant to him.
