Chapter nineteen Cole #2
Nix stood in front of me and ran his fingers through my hair. “It’s easier to change the way you look at things than how you feel sometimes. And usually, if I can change my perspective, my emotions follow.”
“Hmm…Brian never told me anything like that. Maybe I’ll share it with him.”
“Yeah. He’ll be here tomorrow.”
“I guess I’m big enough to have an entourage now.”
“It’s only an entourage if they travel with you.”
“Well, turns out, you’re the only entourage I want anyway.” I wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him to me. I kissed him, pressing hard against his soft mouth. With each flick of his tongue, my worries faded away. “Mmm…this is better therapy than Brian offers.”
Nix chuckled, and I felt the vibrations against my lips and my chest. “He better not be offering you this kind of therapy.” Then he kissed my neck.
“Oh yeah? Jealous?” I squeezed him a little tighter.
“Not when I’m in your arms.” He closed his eyes and kissed me again. I leaned back on the bed, pulling him with me. He ended up on top of me, squishing me a bit, but I wouldn’t ever say that to him. I wanted him there. I hoped he’d never move.
“We should probably get lunch before, you know…” He thrust his hips into me with a little wiggle.
“I’d rather skip lunch for this.” I pushed my hips up, grinding against him.
“Mmm…maybe a fast one?”
“I would rather savor every second, but I’m sure they’ll be looking for us soon.”
Nix jumped up and dashed across the room. “I’ll lock the door.” He dropped his pants on the way back to the bed. “I need you. Now, Cole.”
There was no time to get totally naked, so I pulled my pants down over my hips and positioned him on top of me again.
This time, though, he was upside down. He held his body up on his elbows and took me into his mouth.
I licked him at the same time. I’d never done this position before, but I’d always wanted to.
I thought it would be awkward, but we were making it work.
Pleasuring each other simultaneously, the push and pull, feeling his silky cock in my mouth and on my tongue, I had never been so turned on.
My cock was so hard, I thought it would burst. Well, I knew it would if Nix sucked me…
“Just like that…don’t fucking stop.”
He moaned instead of answering. I licked around the top of his crown and sucked him into my mouth, slobbering all over his dick. I was momentarily concerned I might drown on my spit, but then Nix thrusted forward and back. My mind was blown, and my dick agreed.
The tingling encompassed my entire body. White stars took my vision and made one of my eyes flutter uncontrollably as I came harder than I ever had in my life.
“My turn.” Nix continued to fuck my mouth. And I took every inch of him. “Ugh! Now. Now.” He shot down my throat. I swallowed, determined to get every bit of him. I held his hips, so he couldn’t pull up too soon. He collapsed on top of me with a low moan. “Gah…Cole…”
“I know.”
We lay there a few minutes, then Nix crawled around until we faced each other again. I pressed my lips against his, wanting gentle and sweet, and he gave it to me. “I love you, Nix.”
“Love you, too. This is perfect.”
A knock on the door interrupted us. “Hey, we have lunch.” I was pretty sure it was Tyler. “If you want to join us.”
“We’ll be right out,” Nix said, loudly.
“Will we?” I asked in a whisper.
Nix chuckled. “Yes. It’s called obligation. Let’s clean up and get ready.” He started to get up, but I grabbed him, pulling him back down to me.
“I already ate.”
He kissed the side of my head. “Come on. Let’s get this over with.”
We cleaned up, brushed our teeth, and headed out to the kitchen area. There was a large island with seating around it, and several people sitting there.
Rico turned around and held up a hand for a high-five. “Cole, man. What’s up?”
I gave him the slap on the hand he was looking for. Rico had always been cool with me. “Hey.”
Tate sat beside him and flashed me a mega-watt smile. “Good to see you.” I couldn’t resist lifting an eyebrow, which made Tate scowl, but then he said. “Because I need someone to knock around on the track.”
I wasn’t surprised he resorted to shit-talking. It was my go-to as well and a language we all knew. “We’ll see who gets knocked around. Bet it won’t be me.”
Then we all burst out talking at once about each other and ourselves, bragging and cutting each other down, until Tyler walked over, cleared his throat and placed a giant bowl of salad on the island.
“Shut up and eat.” He pointed at us. “All of you.” He pointed at me last, but only for a second.
Just long enough to let me know I was included in his family. At least for the moment.
It shouldn’t have made my heart leap into my throat, but it did.
“Y’all fit in here.” Tate scooted over a bit and indicated two more stools.
Davey slid a large plate of chicken on the counter. “If we get one more person, we’ll have to eat outside. Maybe we should move out there anyway.”
“This is fine,” I answered, sliding Nix in between me and Tate, putting me at the end that wrapped into the kitchen side of the room.
Tyler stood next to me. And he smiled. That face was part boy-next-door, part evil-nymph.
He always had a spark of humor dancing in his eyes, and they flashed with it now.
I remembered what I’d always seen in him.
I reached down and grabbed Nix’s hand. I needed him to ground me because Tyler’s dimples were lifting my soul off the ground.
Nix stabbed furiously at the chicken, dumping a few pieces onto his plate with a shake of his fork.
It got my attention, and I forced myself to turn and face him.
I gave him a wink, but he looked mad. He knew how I had felt about Tyler before, so I got it.
He was going to be jealous of any attention I gave Tyler, but I wasn’t really giving him attention so much as noticing him.
I wasn’t about to throw Nix away for something that would never be.
As if to prove my point, Davey slid over to Tyler and put his arm around his husband. They were together. End of story. But even if that wasn’t the case, I didn’t think I’d end up with Tyler. We were too different.
I ate my salad, trying not to think about it. It wasn’t worth my time.
After lunch, we jumped in the pool. At first, we splashed around and acted like fools, but at some point, after our food had settled, we started racing.
I sprinted freestyle across the water. I loved swimming and did it regularly.
Rico was the only one who could keep up.
We tied our race, then sat on the edge of the pool, drying off with fluffy white towels that Tyler had brought out.
“How are you so fast?” Rico asked. “I’m in this pool almost all the time. How about you? Have you been swimming?”
“Not lately, but I love it. My second favorite place to be. Wait. Third.”
Rico last. “I feel you. Track.” He held up a finger. “Dillon.” He held up another one. “Pool.” Dillon was Davey’s cousin and Rico’s boyfriend. He was sitting in the shade watching us race. He’d gotten in with us and splashed around, but he still had limited use of his legs since his accident.
“Shouldn’t you put Dillon first?”
He glanced over at his boyfriend. “I guess it depends on what day it is. Today, he’s first, but when we hit the track tomorrow…” He laughed. “Don’t look at me like that. You know what I mean, and so does Dillon.”
“He used to race, so I’m sure he gets it.” I wasn’t as sure about Nix, but so far, he’d proven he understood me, sometimes better than I understood myself.
Rico bumped into my shoulder. “Let’s go again.”
We watched Tate and Davey stroke across the pool as we lined up.
Davey had kept in great shape since retiring and the way his lean form cut through the water, explained one of the ways he did that.
I had to admit he looked good, though I’d never been attracted to him.
Or any of the other racers. Only Tyler. But he wasn’t a racer, he was Davey’s mechanic.
Rico and I raced down the pool and back. I stood, dripping water, and looked at him. He finished a fraction of a second behind me. “Great race.” I lifted out of the pool and sat on the edge.
“Right.” Rico pulled out and sat beside me.
“Here.” Nix dropped a towel on my head. “Are you about finished?” None of the loving tones from before lunch was left in his voice. Nope. Nix was beyond annoyed.
I grabbed his arm. “Hey, are you alright?”
“Oh, me? Sure, I’m fine.”
He was not fine.
I scrubbed the towel over my hair and followed him into the house.
The sliders opened to back of the house, dining room and kitchen.
The floors were all tile, so I didn’t worry about dripping on carpet and ruining it.
Davey was smart to go with that. I made a mental note to tile everything in our new house as well.
“Wait up, Nix,” I called after him.
“I’m fixin’ to go to our room, Cole. I’m going to read a bit, then crash. You don’t have to join me. Go play with your friends.”
Nix went down the hall and into our room. He tried to shut the door on me, but I pushed in. “Nix? What’s going on?”
He sighed deeply. “Nothing. I’m tired. That’s all.” He sat on the bed, looking mopey.
The volume on his southern accent was turned way up, emphasizing his exhaustion. He almost always had that capped. “It’s been a long day.”
He nodded. He seemed sad and frustrated. I dropped the towel on the floor and stood in front of him. I ran my hands through the back of his hair and pressed his face to my stomach. He sighed again. “It has. I think I’m going to crash.”
“Okay.” I didn’t know if I was expected to go to bed with him, but I wasn’t that tired yet. It was still early, and relaxing was hard for me on the best of days. I kissed the top of his head. “I’m going to change real quick, then give you some time. I’ll be back in later. Okay?”
“Whatever.” Nix pulled away from me and curled up on the bed.
