Chapter Tiana #2
“You’re playing with fire, Princess. You act like you don’t remember what happened this morning.”
Now I was the one shifting and crossing my legs in the custom Patricia Warren dress that I’d had designed for today.
Parker was someone who had money but he didn’t do stupid money things.
When he spent it though, he didn’t pussyfoot around.
I’d been introduced to Patricia Warren through Billy Briggs who was an agent and wife of one of the team captains.
Mrs. Warren let me know she would be happy to design outfits for me but if I weren’t melanin rich then she wouldn’t have bothered to extend the offer.
Which I completely understood. Parker was an acquaintance of her son and her nephew but she reserved exclusives for people she liked.
Since Billy vouched for me she was open to making something for me.
Parker had purchased her entire line this year for me since we had a bunch of appearances to make together along with the jewelry that her daughter-in-law designed to complement it.
That man didn’t blow a bag on those clothes, he blew an entire bank and didn’t bat an eye at the expense.
Okay, maybe that was a stupid money thing.
All I knew was that I felt confident walking into spaces where I knew I would be hated and looked so good it was another reason for the bitches to stay mad.
Yeah, definitely gonna suck his dick in the car.
My thoughts went back to how he’d had me spread open on the kitchen table having me instead of the food that the chef had prepared.
It was wild when he admitted that he hadn’t ever been an eater because, in his words, ‘he wasn’t putting his mouth on any food he wasn’t sure was only for his plate’.
Admitting that he’d only dealt with flings, which was another reason folks were going crazy we were a couple was wild.
The progress that he’d made in a short while was crazy because it was clear he’d studied how to do it right.
Along with listening to my body to see what I enjoyed, he could make me cum back to back and insisted on doing so before he even thought of entering my body.
We’d had to take our breakfast to eat in the car because we were almost late for the driver’s pickup.
“This morning was just the appetizer I hope. You know we eat more than one helping on Thanksgiving, Parker. I need to be good and stuffed before the night is over.” My voice was low, my mind calculating if we could get a quickie in before kickoff because now I needed to feel him again.
He licked his dark pink lips, his eyes narrowing impishly and he was about to say something before we were rudely interrupted.
“Parker, why not come and entertain the McDurmonts for a few minutes?”
I knew Peter Jr.’s voice without having to turn around and since Parker didn’t turn to address him I wasn’t going to either.
The way he’d interrupted our moment pissed me off because Peter Jr.’s presence meant my pussy was ready to start a brush fire with how quickly it’d dried up at the sound of his voice.
I couldn’t stand this man and his passive-aggressive behavior.
You would think that being on the verge of being broke meant he’d learned an ounce of humility but if white men had anything, they had all the hubris and audacity in the world.
Peter Jr. was the type of man who’d rather become a family annihilator than ever have to work a day in his life.
Seeing that type of mental dysfunction up close made me glad that I was born into a middle-class lifestyle.
Shit has changed now though hasn’t it?
“The game is about to start. I don’t understand who you think I am but I’m not the entertainment for the day. If the game isn’t sufficient to hold their attention, perhaps they should find somewhere else to go that’s more to their liking.”
Parker’s voice was calm but I could hear the thread of irritation in his tone.
His words weren’t clipped, but they weren’t as easy as they were when he spoke to me.
The way his family always had him on guard often made me question why the hell he kept them around in the first place.
He’d just shrug and say he’d know when the time was right to walk away.
Parker’s heart was so big I wondered if he felt as though they were going to magically turn into good people.
I wasn’t going to be the one to burst his bubble so I kept my mouth shut and out of white folks’ business.
Parker told me I was going to be changing my last name to his so I would have to get involved at some point.
Dealing with the politics of his family, who clearly would rather I be cleaning the suite than sitting in it like the First Lady, was not on my list of things to do today.
After helping with the foundation that bore my man’s name and not his shitty family’s, this was not a battle I wanted to get involved in.
And the beautiful part about it was that Parker for damn sure wasn’t going to let me.
Parker picked up the highball glass to his right that had rested on the tray next to his seat.
I had to squeeze his hand to lessen his annoyance as he took a sip.
With the way he’d been working over-time with helping his players and brokering deals that extended outside of the team and went beyond making money, he hadn’t had a break since we’d gone to Coby and Billy’s Halloween Birthday party for their twins.
Instead of taking the gracious hint that was afforded him, Peter Jr. walked even closer to us bringing him directly into our line of sight.
He was dressed as if he were the one who owned the team and had often tried to boss the suite attendants around like he was.
They’d been given strict instructions not to pay him any attention and to run any requests by Parker before they honored them.
It was another way that he pissed them off and reminded them they were only here by his grace.
“C’mon. Surely Tina can stand to be apart from you for a few seconds.
I know she has other people she knows here besides you.
” Even without him fucking up my name the way he did, I could hear the way he was trying to imply that my neediness was the only reason that Parker hung around me.
They’d made their confusion on Parker’s attachment to me clear.
Parker was never one to spend a lot of time with his biological family outside of keeping up appearances but that was more for his benefit than theirs.
It seemed beyond their comprehension that he actually liked me in public as much as he did in private.
They had certainly hinted at my being a side piece instead of a main once or twice.
Parker’s thumb was caressing my hand and I badly wanted to look around for someone from the security team.
I knew that he was about to embarrass this man and I didn’t know if Peter had the balls to swing or not.
Probably not, but I also didn’t want Parker to come out of his place of peace to deal with this. Not right now.
“Are you done?” The question was asked so calmly I knew Parker had been hanging around niggas way too long.
Despite how badly I wanted to break the tension, this was something that had to happen.
I sat quietly and adjusted the custom wool Desperados throw Parker had for each seat in the suite.
I’d joked that it was freezing inside one game and they were in place before the next home game.
Love a man of action.
The lights of the room suddenly felt brighter, as though a spotlight had been placed on us.
The soft yet firm Desperados’ blue leather club chairs that could heat and cool suddenly felt uncomfortable.
I wished that Peter would march his ass back across the custom carpeted floor and out of our space but now that he’d been disrespectful Parker’s grace was gone.
He should’ve just sat back there and ate our food with whoever these people were he brought in here.
“What do you mean?”
The confusion was obvious as he stood over Parker and folded his arms across his chest, a move I’m sure he thought was intimidating.
Peter was older than Parker by several years and they looked completely opposite of one another.
Parker was taller, blue-eyed and had dark brown, almost black wavy hair.
Peter, like his namesake, had dirty blonde hair and lifeless brown eyes.
The sun was already beating his ass since Peter’s face had the deep sheen that people got from having work done and his beer belly couldn’t be hidden with the double-breasted cut of his suit.
He was the type who felt his wealth and his whiteness were enough to garner him whatever he wanted in life and never tried to be anything more.
It wasn’t until things got bad a few years ago that he even took a real interest in their family business according to Parker.
Too late now.
“I mean I told you that I wasn’t doing what it is you demanded.
” Jesus I shouldn’t be turned on by how calmly destructive this man sounded but I was.
I was just going to say it was a continuation of the desire I’d already felt when he was reminding me of how he ate my pussy off the bone this morning.
Or maybe I’d been waiting for him to fuck his brother up for over a year and now I was getting my chance. Either or worked for me.
“It wasn’t a demand; it was a—”
Parker’s hand that held his drink went up and I damn near expected him to toss it in his brother’s face. Instead, it was a silent warning for him to shut the fuck up and thankfully Peter complied.
