Chapter 17 Allie #2

I jumped up, threw my arms over his shoulders, and he held me against him as my feet dangled. “You remember my chocolate weakness.”

He rested his forehead against mine. “I remember everything.”

Be still my jacked up beating heart.

“Okay, I’ll see you in about an hour.”

After five more minutes of goodbye kisses, he left.

I took a hot bubble bath and let my mind relive every minute in his bed. Not the bed of years past, but the bed of today. How could any of this be happening?

I jumped out of the bubbles and into the thick white robe that hung on the back of the door. I ran out and jumped back into Levi’s bed and pulled the covers up just as my cell phone screamed and I grabbed it.

“Yo, Rach, what’s up?”

“Well, holy shit, Allie. You sound happy. That must be one great vacation house.”

I couldn’t fight my grin. “It’s an amazing place to be.” Truth.

“Well, what ya been up to?”

A little nervousness hit my stomach as I painfully recalled she and Levi back in the day.

“Just, uh, hanging out.”

“Emily is right here.”

“Of course she is.”

“I’m putting the phone on speaker.”

Her scream almost blew out my eardrum. “The blizzard is wrapping up! You’d better have a big fat margarita waiting for me.”

“Sure thing.”

“Is Evan’s cousin nice?”

I held in a giggle at the memory of him being nice to every inch of me. “He’s okay. Pretty nice I guess.”

Lexi’s voice screeched. “You’ve been there with a man?”

Emily teased. “This is interesting.”

“Stop. But I’m glad to hear you sounding a little calmer today, Em.”

“Yeah, I’ve decided I’m letting all wedding stuff just roll off my back.” She spoke in a fairytale whisper. “I’m done worrying. Yup, any non-RSVP guests will just be set on fire. That’s all.”

“Nice.”

Lexi let out a dramatic sigh. “Okay, we’re done hearing Emily talk about any wedding shit, thank God.”

Emily laughed. “You’re a bitch, Lexi.”

“Yes, I am. I’m kinda like a finger in the ass. I’m either a wonderful surprise or just make everything awkward and uncomfortable.”

After a mind-numbing conversation about whether you’d prefer to have no nose but really good smelling fingers, or be blind and have a kick ass body, I finally got off the phone.

I threw on black leggings and white hoody before I got to the bottom of the stairs to find the most handsome fella in Colorado, maybe even the world, wearing black pants and a steel blue sports coat over a crisp white button-down shirt that highlighted those pecs and biceps.

What the what? He held my coat out for me.

The sight of him made me realize I needed a hug. And maybe an orgasm. Yes, a hugasm.

“You’re all dressed up. Have you been up to something, Levi?

“Well, picturing you naked is the most productive thing I’ve done all day. But things might be changing.”

“They say a naughty thought a day keeps the stress away.” Truth.

“You’re my favorite naughty thought.” He leaned down and kissed my cheek. “If you knew what was going through my mind you’d be traumatized or maybe aroused.”

My cheeks grew warm, and I wondered if we should stay in.

“You ready?”

“For what?”

“It’s a surprise.”

I gasp. “You tell me right now or I’m not going.”

He grabbed the magic eight ball from the coffee table and shook it.

“Should Allison motherfuckin’ Langley go see a surprise with Levi motherfuckin’ Dawson?”

His head nodded and held it out for me to see. “Hell yeah.” He walked back over and helped me on with my coat. “We outta here.”

* * *

Twenty minutes later he led me into a fancy boutique on the magical Christmas street in the beautiful ski resort town. “What are we doing?”

Two women approached. “Mr. Dawson?”

He nodded as they looked at me. “Are you ready?”

“I don’t know.”

“Follow us.”

Levi’s grin gave me a squeeze as we walked back to the dressing room area.

The boutique had a high-end flair, and the dressing area walls were wrapped in chic, high fashion wallpaper, crisp white doors, and three brown leather chairs close by a little pedestal in front of a large mirror.

“We have some items to get you started in the fitting room and can grab any others you might like.”

Levi took a seat in a fancy chair and the woman helping me flashed him a whopper of a smile. Clearly, he was leaving all the women in the room a little toasty with that grin.

“What else shall we set her up with?”

My eyes darted back to the hot one.

“She needs a cocktail dress, short, that highlights those amazing legs. Maybe heels, and of course everything that goes underneath.”

I swore the glint in his eye would make my bra burst open at any second.

“Levi, what are you doing?” I couldn’t make my big old smile disappear.

“Closure ends tomorrow.” He sat back in his chair. “We’re going to live the hell out of today.”

I stood frozen as the sales ladies buzzed around bringing all sorts of things in my direction. A man’s head popped around the corner. “Who ordered pizza?”

Gasp!

My eyes met Levi’s and he let out a chuckle.

“Are you Pretty Womaning me right now?”

“Bet your ass I am.” He pointed to the dressing room. “Go.”

As I entered the dressing room the memory of him sneaking in my bedroom window and us curling up in my twin sized bed watching Pretty Woman, my favorite old movie, had my heart doing a sexy salsa dance.
