Scene Three

THE HORIZON

His house was the part she hadn't let herself think about on the drive. The club had rules on the walls, staff in the halls, a whole architecture of strangers keeping everyone honest. The only safety net here was Devon himself. The heavy oak door clicked shut behind her, a finality that resonated in the hollow of Sarah’s chest like a gavel strike.

There was no background hum of the Envision lounge here—no clinking of glasses, no distant, muffled laughter from the playrooms, no reassuring pulse of house music to act as a buffer between her and the world.

He felt her register it. He always felt these things.

"You're frightened of the right thing now," he said.

"Not the playroom. The fact that we left the net behind.

" He took her face in both hands. "So look at me.

The word is still red. It still ends everything, here exactly like there.

The only difference is that here, I'm the one who catches you.

There's no staff. There's just me, and I don't drop people.

Do you believe that?" She searched him and found, to her own unease, that she did.

"Then come see where you'll be spending some time. "

He'd prepared it before she arrived — she could see that, and it moved her in a way she didn't expect.

Water already set out. The room warm. Towels and a robe were laid out.

Everything she might need afterward placed within reach by someone who'd thought about the after before the during.

The dominance and the care, the two faces of Devon, again, and here the care had gotten there first. "That depth you told me you were reaching for, the first night, behind the glass," he said.

"This is where it goes. All the way down is total — you will hand over, in this house, to me.

You felt the edge of it at the club. Now you find out how far down it actually goes.

" "And you don't get the bottom of it until you choose it—offer it to me, clear-headed, because you want to.

"Tonight you get closer. Not all the way.

Right now, I want you just to stand there and feel how badly you want the rest."

The air in the room was thick with anticipation.

Something charged sat in the space between them—close enough that she felt it on her skin.

He stood before her; his gaze a mix of blue and gold she had seen at the club, and showed a potent combination of tenderness and raw desire.

“Are you ready?” he asked, his voice a low rumble that seemed to bypass all her senses and settle perfectly into her bones.

Her breath hitched, a knot of nervousness tightening in her chest, but it was a familiar fear, and one he was a master at unraveling.

She nodded, a silent testament to her trust. “Tonight the words you will speak are, ‘Yes, daddy.’ A simple nod will not be accepted. Verbal confirmation is vital to understanding where you are in the moment. Do you understand that, Sarah?”

“Yes, daddy,” she replied.

He guided her to his playroom. She looked in awe at all the furniture: a large bed with satin sheets, a leather couch, and a chair designed with a hole in the seat.

She was taken aback by all the toys laid out on full display, and the anticipation, combined with the fear, mounted in her chest more.

Devon caught the flash in her eyes as she looked around.

He stepped closer to her and said to her as a reminder, “You have the word that stops everything at once. I will ask you what color you are throughout this evening. You will respond with red for stop, yellow if you need to slow down, and green if you are okay with where we are. Do you understand?”

She looked around the room, began to nod, then remembered what he said, and replied, “Yes, daddy.”

Devon’s hands maintained the gentleness she first experienced at Envision.

He began to undo the buttons of her blouse, each touch deliberate, a prologue to the exploration to come.

The fabric slowly parted, revealing the soft curve of her shoulder and the delicate skin of her collarbone.

Sarah’s eyes drifted closed as she felt him trace the line of her jaw with his thumb, a feather-light caress that sent shivers down her spine.

He whispered her name, a soft invocation, and she felt the last trace of her resistance begin to dissolve.

With each piece of clothing shed, Devon’s touch became bolder; his exploration more sensual.

He trailed kisses along her sensitized skin, his lips finding the hollow of her throat, the swell of her breasts.

Sarah’s breaths grew ragged, her body arching into his touch without realizing it before it happened.

She didn’t understand how he knew her body so well, knew the places that made her legs weak, the spots that brought forth soft moans of pure pleasure.

He teased, he coaxed, he worshipped, his fingers dancing on her skin, igniting a fire that built with an irresistible intensity.

He led her to the bed, binding her wrists and ankles with the leather cuffs that were already in place.

He picked up the silk blindfold that was lying on the bedside table and placed it over her eyes.

“When one of the senses is taken away,” he said, “the other senses are heightened. By blindfolding you, you can’t see what is coming; therefore, your sensory perception through all of your other senses will be at an all-time high.

” She heard his soft footsteps across the floor.

Taking in a deep breath, she could smell cedarwood, pine, and something underneath she couldn’t pinpoint.

He came back to the bed and knelt between her legs.

Using a crop he had picked up, he started at her lips and slowly ran it down her body.

Over each breast, teasing her nipples. Her back arched; she let out a moan as he continued down her stomach.

He stopped right above her wet mound and ran the crop down each thigh, causing a shiver to flow through her body.

She was beginning to understand what he meant about her other senses being heightened.

The crop, with a soft smack, struck her clit without warning.

She jerked a bit, but before she could say anything, it happened again.

With each smack, the pain intensity increased, and to her surprise, so did the burning sensation in the pit of her stomach, and the wet nectar of her pussy she could feel flowing down her ass.

“Color?” Devon asked.

“Green,” came her response.

“Good girl,” he whispered.

What came next was more than unexpected.

Sarah felt the cold sting of steel against her clit.

She immediately tried to move away, but he held it there until she became more comfortable.

She never did say red, so he continued running, what was now a glistening purple knife, wet from the nectar of her pussy, up and down her body.

Never breaking the skin; just the prick of the tip across her stomach, then her nipples.

“Stick out your tongue,” Devon said.

And, even to her surprise, she did what he asked.

He ran the flat side of the knife that had her wetness on it over her tongue.

“Taste how delicious your sweet pussy gets when you completely let go. When you choose to place all the decisions in the hands of someone you trust implicitly. Letting go of fear and doubt. Leaving the version of Sarah that you show to the world at the door, and becoming exactly what you have wanted this whole time. A submissive who is turned on the most when her mind is turned off.”

Devon got up, and for a moment the silence fell around her like a weighted blanket. He returned, and she felt the immediate ache of something clamp on her nipple.

“I am going to show you how pain can be pleasure when both are combined at the right levels of intensity.”

He clamped the other nipple and brought the chain connecting them down between her legs, where he was currently salivating at the sight of her wet pussy. His eyes devouring her like land after a drought devours the first rain.

“You are to lie still. Each pull against the restraints will result in a pull on the nipple clamps. Do you understand?”

Breathing hard from how aroused she was, the pain in her nipples, and the shock of the short-lived knife play he had worked in, she whispered, “Yes, daddy.”

He leaned over and let the tip of his tongue flick her clit.

She jumped, and he pulled the chain connected to the nipple clamps, causing a pain like she had never felt before, but at the same time, combined with the pleasure of his tongue in her most sensitive area, the fire in her stomach was ignited even more.

His touch was unlike anything she had ever felt from another man; it was beautiful, torturous—as he slowly, but deliberately, awakened every nerve ending in her body.

His touch was both demanding and gentle.

Sarah gasped, her fingers clenching the sheets, her body taut like a bow ready to snap.

He kept the constant pressure on the nipple clamps at this point because, as he suspected, she was not going to be able to lie still; he wanted her to feel the pain and the pleasure combined, as he sent her over the edge.

He continued his feast on her pussy; sucking her clit, tongue fucking her while he also slid two fingers in and out of her wet pussy.

His strokes became more rhythmic, more insistent, pushing her closer to the edge.

He couldn’t believe how delicious she tasted, and for him, that was his pleasure.

The world narrowed to the sensations he was creating, the building pressure, the delicious ache.

Her mind, once a battlefield of anxiety and fear, was now a serene lake, disrupted only by the ripples of pleasure her body was experiencing.

She felt as if she were floating on clouds.

Like she had left the room she was in, but could still feel everything Devon was doing, but the intensity was multiplied.

He whispered encouragements, his voice a steady anchor in the distance, as she drifted further into the intoxicating depths of subspace.

The feeling was overwhelming, a wave of pure, indescribable pleasure, crashing over her, pulling her out of her body, out of time.

She cried out, a sound of pure, unadulterated release, her body convulsing as she soared; the release soaking Devon’s face and everything under her.

He lapped at her squirting pussy like a man dying of thirst in the desert and had found the salvation of water.

When the tremors finally subsided, a profound stillness settled over her.

Devon was there, his arms gathering her close, his body warm, a comforting presence against hers.

He held her, rocking her gently, murmuring soft words of reassurance.

He led her to the bath; the water was warm and soothing, washing away the last remnants of her intense journey.

He bathed her; his touch felt like a religion, and she was the one being worshipped, then wrapped her in warm soft towels, his embrace a sanctuary of peace.

He didn't fill the silence with talk, and when the crying came, he received it like weather, ordinary and passing, which let her stop fighting it.

"Same as before," he said. "It rises, it clears.

I've got you until it does." She understood then what the whole night — the whole arc of nights — had been teaching her: that the man who frightened her and the man holding her now were not two men taking turns.

They were one man, and the second could only reach her because the first had opened the door.

That the gentleness and dominance were the same care wearing two faces, and that he could not have given her the second without first having given her the first. He held her close, his heartbeat a steady rhythm against her ear, until the last echoes of subspace faded, leaving her grounded, loved, and completely content.

He drove her home himself — wouldn't let her arrange anything else — and at her own door the ordinary world felt thin, like a stage set that hadn't quite convinced her.

"When?" she said. Not even a full question this time.

She'd stopped pretending it was a request. The place a smile comes from.

"Soon," he said. "You're learning how deep it goes faster than most." He waited until she met his eyes.

"Next time you come to the house, you'll already know why.

" He kissed her forehead and walked back to his car.

And she carried that why around for days afterward like a coal she couldn't put down — which was, she understood, precisely what he'd handed it to her to do.
