Chapter 11
Fabio
My sister had out done herself again. Every year she amazed me with her attention to detail. She always collected millions of dollars for her charity, Emerald City Women’s Shelter Organization.
Naturally, emerald was the main color, which worked perfectly with Christmas season.
“I can’t believe I’m here.” Cyndee leaned my way. “Our table was expensive, wasn’t it?”
I almost laughed. “Very. Would you like to dance.”
“Yes!” Her eyes shimmered like diamonds. She wore a one-of-a-kind Farina’s ball gown in silver.
I took her hand and led her to the dance floor. My God, I couldn’t take my eyes off her.
“When is dinner?” she asked.
“An hour or so.” I pulled her close and drank her. “The salon did a good job with your hair and makeup.”
“They did. I feel like a celebrity.”
“You’re more beautiful.”
“Don’t say things like that to me. I’m paid to be here. You don’t have to charm me.” She diverted her gaze away from me. “Tomorrow is the last time we’ll be together.”
“I don’t want to hear that.” I lowered my mouth to her bare shoulder and kissed it. “What if I said, I wanted us to continue seeing each other.”
“In hiding?” she asked. “Because that would be our only option when your family discovers I’m a nobody from nowhere special. I’m not even full Italian, just half.”
Jesus, she was right. I couldn’t ask her to be with me in secret. What kind of life would that be for her? Spending time together, we both knew we’d eventually fall in love.
I might have already started to fall in love. Better to rip it off like a Band-Aid.
“Let’s just enjoy this glamorous night.” She lifted her chin and smiled warmly at me.
Hell… I didn’t want to be here anymore. My parents were smooshing with other billionaires. My single brothers were at the bar looking for their next hookup. Everyone was busy and wouldn’t even notice if I wasn’t here. Lettie had already given her welcome speech.
But I knew eyes were on Cyndee and me. I’d give them a show, so nobody wondered where we’d disappeared to.
“Yes, let’s enjoy our last night together…” I captured her lips and sank right into her. Kissing her passionately and not giving two-fucks if we offended anyone.
And what did Cyndee do? She kissed me back, matching my eagerness.
“Will you leave with me?” I asked.
“Now?”
“Right now.”
“Where will we go?” she asked, slipping her tongue into my mouth.
I groaned. “Baby, you know exactly where I’m taking you.”
“You’re going to blur the lines, aren’t you?” Her hand glided down my back to my ass.
My cock jumped. “Fuck yeah, I am.”
“Okay.”
I stared at her for a long beat, then took her hand and we darted out of the gala. Fortunately, we didn’t have far to go. Our suite was on the tenth floor of the hotel.
We burst through the door, tearing each other’s clothes off until fully naked and we fell onto the king-sized bed.
I’d never been so desperate to be inside a woman before until her.
