Celeste Chapter 11 #2
“Sounds like we have a plan. When do you want to go?” Hulk asked.
And just like that, we got to chatting about what we wanted to do and when we’d go. I was so relieved that it went so well with Capri. For once, things were falling into place. I prayed they’d continue.
???
I expected us to go to town in my car, but Hulk had other ideas.
Instead, he took us into his garage. There was his motorcycle.
Capri asked what kind it was. He gave us a brief explanation that his was a Harley-Davidson Road King Special.
He’d just gotten it early this year. It was a gorgeous dark blue.
He explained that he planned to have a custom design put on it.
Capri asked shyly if she could take a ride sometime.
Hulk explained that, usually, the only woman or man on the back of a biker’s ride was his old lady or his old man.
But there were a few exceptions, like close family, so he was okay with doing it.
But she’d have to wait until I’d gotten my first ride.
The thought of being on the back of his motorcycle was exciting and a little scary, but I’d do it.
Besides his bike, he had a pickup truck. It was a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 in dark blue. It could haul things and could be used as a work truck if necessary. The dual cab gave us room to ride comfortably. We’d piled into the truck and were off.
We made it to town by eleven thirty. I navigated him to our apartment.
We lived in a small apartment building on the west side of Cherokee.
There weren’t a ton of houses or other structures around us.
It was an older building, showing its age.
Overall, the area was pretty safe, but it didn’t stand up well against the Pagans’ compound or the houses there.
However, I refused to be embarrassed. It was what we could afford.
We parked in a spot close to the building.
Our apartment was on the second floor of the three-story building.
There were four apartments per floor, for a total of a dozen units.
Our apartment was 2B. It was safer not to be on the first floor, but it did suck when it came time to haul in groceries or move the furniture. We’d been here for the past four years.
I noticed Hulk examining it as we climbed the stairs. I took out my key as we approached our door. His hand came over and gently tugged the key free.
“Let me open it. Not to alarm you, but I’d feel better if you’d allow me to enter first. I’m not saying anyone has been in there, but it’s always better to be cautious. Know that I’d do this no matter the circumstances. Call it my caveman side. I’ve got to protect what’s most precious to me.”
My insides melted at his words. Capri sighed contentedly. We stepped back and allowed him to do it. When he entered, Hulk left the door cracked. I nervously waited. Thankfully, he didn’t take long to return and said it was all clear.
We’d only been gone a day, but I swear, stepping inside, it felt like it had been longer. And the atmosphere was no longer homey. It felt foreign. Surely, staying one night hadn’t done this?
“It shouldn’t take us long. Let me give you the tour. This is the living room and kitchen, as you can see. Not huge, but big enough for us.” I started explaining.
As I chatted, he followed me with Capri trailing us. There was a bathroom in the hall between our rooms on opposite sides of the tiny hallway. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it got the job done. The final stop was to point out Capri’s room, then mine.
“As you can see, it’s nothing like your house, but it serves our needs. The only gripe we have is that we unfortunately have to take our clothes to the laundromat. Units with a washer and dryer included cost extra money. More than it costs us to take our clothes to the laundromat,” I told him.
“Please tell me you go to Souls’ Soak,” Hulk said.
“No, we don’t. I haven’t heard of that one.” I replied.
“The club owns it. Bones used to oversee it until he went back to doctoring more. Plus, he helps out at Promises, so Pyro stepped up to take it over. At least at ours, you know you’re not getting ripped off.”
“We’ll make sure to go there from now on. Capri, you get your things, and I’ll get mine. Oh, and we have to get the mail. Don’t let me forget that.”
“I won’t,” she promised before disappearing into her room. I gestured for Hulk to follow me.
As soon as we cleared the doorway, he kicked my door shut, then pinned me to the wall next to it.
“I’ve been dying to get my mouth on you. Damn it, I’ve got to insist on at least hourly kisses. You can warn Capri about them,” he said before capturing my lips.
I enthusiastically kissed him back. When we stopped, I was flushed, horny, and panting. He had a low rumble coming out of him, and his eyes were on fire. He pressed his hips into my stomach, and I moaned at the feel of his engorged cock.
“Kai, we can’t. Not here. Wait until we get to your house. Capri can go visit with Aliya again, and you and I can take a break,” I whispered.
“Deal. And don’t think I won’t cart your ass off to that bed if you try to renege. Capri is old enough to know what Aunty Celeste and Uncle Hulk do in their bedroom,” he growled.
“You’re crazy, but I won’t renege. If I do, it might kill me. Now, the sooner I get packed, the sooner we can go,” I hinted.
He moved back, allowing me my freedom. My first stop was my closet, where I got out a small suitcase.
After that, I went to the bathroom. He ambled along behind me.
I swiftly grabbed a toiletry bag from under the sink and put my essentials in it.
I even packed a little makeup. Back out in the bedroom, Hulk sat on the bed next to where I had placed my case.
I put my toiletry bag in it and moved to the dresser.
My underclothing and socks were in it, along with my nightclothes.
I debated for about two seconds before bundling up my nightie with the rest of my things.
From the small jewelry box on top of the dresser, I withdrew a favorite pair of earrings, a ring, and a bracelet, and snatched up my perfume.
The last stop was the closet to grab a couple of tops and bottoms.
When I was finished, and those were in the suitcase, I took a moment to scan the room to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. Nothing stood out, but I walked back into the bathroom to double-check there. When I returned, Hulk was on his feet.
“Is this everything?”
“I believe it is.”
“Good. Although I gotta tell you, you don’t need the jewelry or makeup, babe. You’re stunning without it.”
I went to him and gave him a brief kiss on the lips.
“Thank you for saying that, but most women, or at least me, wear it as armor of sorts. It’s not, per se, about attracting someone.
It’s to be a barrier against catty bitches who say mean, hurtful things, though they can do it regardless.
A woman likes to appear at her best no matter what. ”
“If women are being catty, it’s because you so far outshine them they’re fucking jealous. I hope you don’t need your armor, but if you want to wear it, go for it. Just know, I always have your back.”
“God, Malachi, you keep making me fall for you every time you open your mouth. Let’s get out of here.”
He nodded, zipped my bag, then picked it up. I knew better than to try to take it from him. I was an independent woman, but it was nice to have a man to do things for me. We found Capri, packed and waiting, in the living room.
“Are you all ready?” I asked.
“I am.”
“Okay, then mail here we come,” I said.
Hulk snagged her suitcase. He placed it under his arm and then held mine by the handle on the same side. This move left his other hand free to close and lock the door. Glancing around, he frowned.
“Where is your mailbox?”
“Oh, it’s down at the end of the parking lot. It’s one of those metal boxes that has smaller boxes for everyone’s mail,” Capri explained.
It was a swift descent, then a short walk to the truck.
Hulk loaded the cases into the back seat with Capri.
When we were all buckled in, he started it and drove us to the end of the lot.
Again, he asked for the key, and I gave it to him.
Our number was on the box and key, so it wasn’t hard to tell which was ours.
When he got back in the car, he handed me the key and a small stack of envelopes.
Sorting through them, most were junk. Only two appeared to be worth opening.
Before I could say we could leave, Hulk asked us a question.
“Ladies, would you like to have lunch before we head back? I know several great places if you want.”
“I could eat. Capri?”
“I’d love to. Where do you want to take us?” she asked Hulk.
“You have the choice of Chinese, Mexican, a burger joint, or Italian. If it were evening, there’d be a steakhouse option. Do any of those sound good?”
Capri and I had a short debate, which was typical when we were lucky to go out to eat. We settled on the burger place.
“Good choice. Bite Me, here we come,” he said.
Capri and I had eaten there twice. The burgers were fantastic. My mouth watered thinking about them. It only took about ten minutes to get there. Another reason I loved Cherokee. It didn’t take you half an hour or more just to get from one end of town to another.
