Chapter Four #2

When we reached the end of the hallway, he pulled out a keyring and fumbled with the lock for a few moments until it clicked open. My heart started racing, fear snaking down my spine when I realized I’d be completely alone with this boy.

“On second thought…” I trailed off, taking a step backwards.

He glanced over at me in confusion. “You don’t want to see it?” He sighed, shoving the keys back into his pocket. “I’m not going to make you. I

just thought it would be a quieter place to talk.”

Was I being crazy?

Don’t.

The thought wasn’t mine, but it couldn’t be anyone else’s. Fuck. Maybe I was schizophrenic.

Blowing out a breath, I glanced behind me one last time. Sure enough, I spotted Lizzie on the far end of the room between a gap of people. She was talking to Pete just like Felix said she’d be.

“Okay,” I agreed cautiously. “Sorry. Partying isn’t really my scene.”

“That’s okay. We can go in at your own pace.”

I shot him a grateful smile and hesitantly stepped through the door with Felix right on my heels. When the door clicked shut again, it was like a gunshot going off in the dead of night. It didn’t help that it was pitch black in here either.

After a few seconds, the lights came on, blinding me in the process.

The breath seeped from my lungs, my eyes widening in response. There were rows upon rows of bookshelves adorning the entire room. This place was insane.

“Holy shit,” I muttered under my breath.

“My mom’s a book fan too. I can show you her reading nook if you’d like.”

All I could do was nod in response. I’d died and gone to heaven. It was the only plausible explanation.

Felix whipped out his phone and typed on it for a second before returning it to his pocket. “Come on,” he urged, placing a gentle hand against my lower back.

When we reached the nook, the urge to nerd out nearly overpowered me. There was a large couch with a coffee table positioned before it, and bookcases surrounding the space to make it more secluded.

“What kind of books do you like to read?” he inquired, stepping away from me.

“Horror and thrillers mostly.” I shrugged, a small smile tugging at my lips.

A thoughtful expression overtook his features. I watched as he walked off until he disappeared around one of the bookshelves.

When he returned, he had a book in his hand. He offered it to me, which I reluctantly accepted. It was a hardback with a gorgeous cover and felt amazing pressed beneath my fingertips.

“You want to sit down?” he pressed, motioning toward the couch.

I’d much rather be in here than out there with all those people. Plus, there were books. If Felix wasn’t here, I’d probably sit here for hours checking them all out.

“Yeah, sure.” The tension slowly seeped from my shoulders as I made my way over to the couch and lowered myself onto it.

He joined me moments later and I could feel the heavy weight of his gaze as he quietly assessed me. Glancing down at the book, I opened it, excitement sparking through me when it made that crinkling sound. Either his mom hadn’t read this one yet, or she took really good care of it.

Turning the page, I quietly skimmed over the dedication before moving onto the prologue.

When Felix’s body heat became more potent, I tightened my grip around the book and forced myself to focus. There was no way I was going to allow myself to get caught in his gaze.

He started to lean in, his breath tickling the side of my neck before his lips closed in on the sensitive flesh.

My heart lurched into my throat, a current of contradicting emotions slamming into me.

His hand dropped to my bare thigh, his fingers treading dangerously close to slipping up my black skirt.

At last, I turned toward him. I wasn’t sure if it was a mistake or not. He pulled away slightly, our faces inches apart. The heat in his gaze seemed to build and build, captivating me as I watched it swirl through his irises.

He reached forward, cupping the side of my face with his hand before smashing his lips against mine.

The kiss was a little sloppier than expected, but I chalked that down to his urgency.

With his other hand, he rested it along the curve of my hip and pulled, closing any remaining distance that might have been there before.

Shuffling sounded from beyond, causing the hair on the back of my neck to stand on end. I abruptly pulled away, horrified by what I’d just done. I didn’t go around kissing random boys, and definitely not football players.

“S-sorry,” I stuttered nervously. “I have to go.”

I closed the book and placed it down on the coffee table before rising on shaky legs.

“I thought we were having fun.” He frowned, shoving a hand through his dark hair to push it back.

“Sorry,” I repeated.

I turned my back on him and started toward the exit. But something warm and hard collided with my back before I could even make it a foot away. Felix’s arm slipped around my chest, his hand closing in on my throat. The other one banded around my waist, holding me in place.

“Felix.” I gasped, fear coiling through my stomach.

“I tried to be nice,” he replied. “I brought you to my mom’s library, asked you what your interests were, and made sure you had a moment of silence.”

I trembled against him, unable to do much else.

The hand on my waist dropped lower, settling against the apex of my thigh right above my fishnet stockings.

“Please,” I whispered, biting back the tears that were hellbent on escaping.

Instead of responding, he nuzzled against the side of my neck like before. Only this time, everything about him repulsed me.

Chuckles echoed through the library, causing my spine to snap straight with awareness. When Russel stepped into view, my throat tightened painfully. Behind him was the dude constantly groping me and shit.

I realized then that I’d made a horrible mistake.

“Hope you haven’t started without us.” Russel smirked, letting his heated gaze roam over my breasts.

I struggled against Felix, nausea coiling within my gut. I had to find a way out of this.

“Nah, we were just getting warmed up.” Felix tightened his hold on me before steering me to the right. I dug my heels into the floor, but it was no use. He was so much stronger.

In the blink of an eye, he spun me around and pushed his hand against my back hard. I cried out, my body forcing to bend forward. My chest collided with the hard surface of a table, dread snaking down my spine.

“Fuck,” Russel groaned. “Lift her skirt up. Let me see that ass.”

Tears burned my eyes as I tried relentlessly to get free, but Felix didn’t let up.

“I got you,” Brendan replied, a hint of a smile in his voice.

“Stop,” I begged, hot tears rolling down my cheeks. My arms were pinned beneath me, preventing me from grabbing the weapon I’d brought just in case.

The air hit my bare ass suddenly, causing my breath to stutter out. I was wearing a black thong and fishnet stockings underneath, but they did zilch for coverage.

A low whistle rang out, and I couldn’t even tell which guy it had come from. Warm fingers traced the curve of my ass, and I bucked forward, trying my hardest to get away from their touch. His fingers hooked into the string of my thong and he started tugging it down my legs.

“Please don’t do this,” I tried again, shaking from where I lay bent over the table.

“Shhh,” Russel replied, giving him away.

He was the one doing this—touching me, undressing me.

“It’ll be fun. You’ll see.” The humor was evident in his tone, which told me he knew it wouldn’t be even remotely fun for me.

When my thong fell to the floor, he brushed his fingers against my pussy without missing a beat.

It was so unexpected, I jerked in both shock and disgust.

They weren’t going to stop.

That became apparent. It didn’t matter how much I begged and pleaded with them. In order to get free, I needed to play it more strategically.

When his fingers found my clit, I gasped—a sound that was half real and half exaggerated. I widened my stance, hoping to God he wouldn’t shove his fingers in there.

“Fuck,” he hissed. “I think she likes it.”

In your dreams, asshole.

“Of course she does,” Felix replied, stroking the side of my face with his free hand. “She’s a little freak. Isn’t that right, Ember?” His words came out much breathier than before, a slight hitch to them that let me know he was getting off on this.

Russel started to rub me, making my stomach curl in on itself. Despite the repulsion swimming through my veins, I forced a moan from my throat.

“Move, Felix,” Russel barked, making me wince.

Felix sighed but reluctantly released me and stepped off to the side.

I didn’t know what Russel intended on doing next, but while he was occupied, I freed one of my hands and reached down to where my right stocking hugged my leg.

My fingers drifted over the metal, and I quickly tugged it free from its holster before hiding it between the table and my chest.

Adrenaline pumped through my veins, fear causing my throat to tighten. If this failed, I’d be completely fucked—no pun intended.

I gasped when I felt warm breath skate over my pussy, my legs tightening in an attempt to prevent what he was about to do.

Just as his tongue slid across my crease, I shoved away from the table and whirled around to face them.

The hilt of the knife was clutched in my hand, and I slashed outwards, satisfied when the blade connected with Russel’s cheek.

His eyes widened in shock, his hand flying up to cup his new wound.

“You idiots really thought I’d come here defenseless?” I snarled, my body practically shaking with the rage I felt.

They were going to take turns raping me. They were going to steal my virginity.

I pointed the blade at Felix next, who put his hands up in surprise. If I could get away with it, I’d slice all their dicks off and watch as they choked on them.

“The next person who tries to touch me, gets their eyeball removed,” I warned.

I leaned down, keeping the blade directed at Felix, and my eyes on all three boys as I worked to slide my panties back up one-handed.

“Move.” I glared them all down, waiting for them to get the fuck out of my way.

The three of them exchanged looks before stepping off to the side like the good little bitches they were. These jocks were no true threat. They used their strength as a weapon, but when a real weapon came into play, they coward.

It was almost funny.

Keeping my eyes on them at all times, I started walking backwards. I didn’t stop until I managed to reach the door. As soon as I was free, I slipped out into the hall and ran back to the party in search of Lizette.

I didn’t need them targeting her next out of spite.
