Chapter 13

Chapter Thirteen

Quinlan

T he show went as it usually does. I did help one of the dancers with a song, I’m not sure Jagger likes when I do that. But he understands and tries to keep smiling.

After the show, it’s an open bar and the dancers mingle with the audience. This part of the show lasts about two to three hours. And it’s usually a good time. The people that come to the shows are generally nice. But sometimes there’s drama.

“I’m going to the bathroom,” I say to Jagger and Brennan.

It’s still weird to have to tell them where I’m going. Usually if Jagger is with me, Brennan is just around for general security. But because Jagger’s sisters are here, Brennan is guarding me tonight, so that Jagger can keep an eye on his sisters.

As I step out of the stall, I see two women at the sink. I stand back to wait for one of them to finish up and then I walk over to wash my hands.

“Are you Quinn?” one of them asks me.

“Do I know you?”

“No, but we know you. And if you want to protect Jagger, you’ll come with us without a fight.”

I look at both of them, trying to see if I can get past them. I might be able to if it was just one. But with two of them, I don’t know.

“Who are you? And why should I go with you?”

“Your grandfather wants to have a word with you.”

“My grandfather lives in Oregon and he knows how to reach me.”

“Oh, you’re a funny one. You don’t want to cross Vincent Burrows. Just because you’re his granddaughter, doesn’t mean he’s going to be kind to you.”

“I don’t know a Vincent Burrows. And he’s definitely not my grandfather.”

“Don’t be stupid. You can come with us now or we can knock you the fuck out. Your choice.”

I start laughing. “You really think you can drag me out of this bathroom with no one noticing? Who’s stupid now ?”

It’s at this moment that I hear someone come out of the stall behind me. Fuck me. Salvatore is always saying to be vigilant and pay attention to my surroundings. And I did the exact fucking opposite.

Jagger

Quinn’s been gone for too long. I make my way to where Luciana is with her guard Amante.

“Hey, Luciana, Quinn went to the bathroom a while ago and hasn’t come back out. Could you go and check?”

“Of course I can. Amante, can you find Raziel? And I’ll take Bella with me.”

“Okay. Stay in a group. If something’s happened to Quinn, I don’t want you by yourself. Either of you.”

Amante sends Ombra with the girls, he’s Isabella’s bodyguard. There is a look of worry on both their faces and now I’m worried.

“What can I do?” I ask Amante.

“Stay close to your sisters. I’ll grab Raziel, he was just walking the VIP area.”

I nod and go to find my sisters.

“I need you both to come with me,” I say to them when I find them.

“Why? What’s going on?” Lennon asks.

“I don’t know yet. But we need to stay with the others.”

My sisters nod and follow me. I lead them over to where Chloe and Evangeline, two more of Quinn’s friends, are standing. I see Brennan coming over to us.

“Where’s Quinn?” I blurt out to him.

“We haven’t found her yet. I need all of you to stay here,” he says to us.

“You can’t fucking expect me to wait here. I need to help find her.”

Brennan sighs. “Someone needs to stay with the girls. There are more guys coming down now. Please. You can help us by protecting your sisters, Chloe and Evangeline.”

“Fuck. It’s Quinn, Brennan. How can I just stay here and do nothing? She’s my world. I can’t lose her.”

“I know, Jagger. We’ll find her. But you need to help us out until the rest of the guys get here. Plus we don’t want to cause a panic. There’s too many people in the club. Francesco is already checking the security cameras. I will keep you in the loop. I give you my word.”

I nod at him and stay with the girls. But my mind keeps wandering.

“What’s going on?” Veronica asks as she walks over to us.

“I think your father took Quinn.”

Even with all the music and chatter around us, I hear Veronica gasp.

“That’s not possible. She’s being guarded. How could that happen?”

“I don’t know, but it did. So you need to tell Brennan if you know any more about how your father does things.”

I’m trying not to snap at her, it’s not her fault. But it’s really fucking hard. I need Quinn with me now. How am I going to tell her parents that she’s missing?
