Epilogue
Jagger
T hese last six months with Quinn has been the best time of my life. Twisted Bonds has gotten more famous and our brewery is doing really well. We’ve finally branched out to not only make beer, but we’re making wine too.
Veronica has moved to Lake Renegade to be closer to Quinn. And Quinn’s mom and dad visit us every other month.
Vincent Burrows was convicted of aggravated kidnapping. He was given the maximum sentence of thirty years, because of his prior convictions in Oregon. The only ones not convicted were the Koslovs. But that will come in time. I have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of them.
I have a special surprise for Quinn at our show tonight. She has no idea what’s coming.
“I’m so excited for tonight, Jagger. Are you sure you’ll be able to hide everyone from Quinn?” Marley asks.
“I think so. The plan is that her family and ours won’t come in until she’s sitting with her friends. That way they’ll be behind her. So she hopefully won’t see them until I get her up on stage.”
“Sounds good. It’s going to be the best night ever.” Lennon hugs me.
“Okay, you guys ready?” Bowie looks at all of us.
“We were born ready.” Presley nods.
Quinlan
“Why are you all acting so weird?” I ask my friends.
“Huh? We’re not acting weird. You’re just being paranoid.” Chloe smiles.
That smile she gives me is a little too big. Something’s up and they know what it is.
“One of you better spill.”
“So what should we do for our first summer adventure?” Isabella asks, completely ignoring me.
I squint at all of them.
“Thank you all for coming tonight! Please help me welcome to the stage, Twisted Bonds!” the emcee announces.
The entire bar erupts in cheers and clapping. When Jagger takes his place, he blows a kiss to me. Some of the women think he’s doing it to them and start screaming his name. I start laughing.
“It’s almost like being at Luminescence with the women screaming for our men.” Luciana laughs.
After they play five songs, it’s time for them to take a break.
“Before we take our break tonight, I have something to share. But first—Quinn, will you come up here please?” Jagger says.
I look at my friends and they’re all smiling at me.
“Go! Your man is calling for you.” Evangeline pushes me towards the stage.
I hear some women making comments as I push my way through the crowd. Jagger puts his hand out and helps me on stage. He gives me a kiss and leaves me standing next to Marley and Lennon. I can feel their excitement. As I stand there, they start playing the song their dad wrote for their mom. It’s called “You Are the One.” I’ve told Jagger it’s my favorite song.
As soon as the song ends, Jagger comes over to me and takes my hand.
“Quinn, you are the one for me. My person, my soulmate. All it took was seeing you across the club that night for me to know.”
Suddenly, Jagger drops to one knee and the crowd quiets down.
“I love you, Quinn. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”
“Yes,” I whisper as I wipe the tears that are falling.
Jagger slips the most beautiful ring on my finger. It has two stones on it and the colors match my eyes. He stands and kisses me.
“SHE SAID YES!” he yells to the crowd.
I turn to look into the crowd and see everyone I love. My parents and siblings are here, the Mancinis and the Bastianinis. I can’t believe I didn’t notice them before.
“Thank you for making sure everyone was here tonight,” I say to Jagger as I kiss him again.
