Chapter 30
Mark me.
Devyn
Our wedding might not have been elegant, but it most definitely was memorable.
I worried that my mate would find it lacking.
Human weddings were kind of a big deal. But when he looked up at me as we were pronounced husbands, the sheer look of joy in his eyes told me that this was the perfect wedding for us.
Things had really changed in a day. His father had his operation, my father was opening his eyes to the bullshit that surrounded him, and I was now legally bound to my mate.
I hadn’t expected our wedding to really feel like anything. I’d been such a fool. Assuming that because a mating bond was stronger than a legal one it would somehow feel less important. Yeah I so very much had that wrong.
After the wedding, we still had business in the hospital to attend to. We’d had multiple discussions with doctors about Heston’s dad’s treatment. And my father-in-law had told us numerous times we should go start our honeymoon and he’d be fine. As if that was going to happen.
Instead we stayed with him as a second and third set of ears during all of the discussions. It was a good thing, too, because there was a lot to process and coming out of surgery and thinking about important decisions weren’t compatible.
The nurses eventually shooed us away, saying my father-in-law needed rest and so did we.
They were right, but rest wasn’t what I had on my mind.
I was thinking more along the lines of something a lot less sedentary and a lot more naked.
Or, if my mate needed it, I would just hold him until he fell asleep.
I wasn’t going to push just because sex was the expectation on honeymoons.
When my mate was hesitant about leaving the premises, the nurse suggested the hotel across the street.
It had been specifically designed with caregivers and families of patients in mind.
They even had a skywalk so we didn’t have to go outside if we didn’t want to and flexible check in and check out times.
“What do you think?” Heston gave my hand a squeeze. “If we are here, then we can literally run over if they call.”
“We’ll make it work.” Their charges were probably exorbitant knowing their guests had no choice. As long as it wasn’t too awful, we could stay for a few days.
While we waited for the elevator, both of our phones dinged.
“What?” My mate exclaimed before I was able to look at mine. “It’s from the bank… look at my deposit.”
Heston turned his phone around. “How’d he get my bank account? Did I give it to Sebastian? I don’t think I did. Maybe it was in his records because my father used to deposit money before he died.”
I didn’t think Sebastian would have been forthcoming about handing over my mate’s banking details to Father.
“Holy crap, Father came through.” Sure enough, when I opened my phone, I had a similar notification. I wasn’t sure how I felt about getting paid to marry the man I loved, but I wasn’t sad about the money. And right now, I didn’t want to think about my father.
We got onto the elevator and went up to the skywalk. The city was so quiet, hardly any cars were on the road. I hadn’t even looked to see how long we’d been at the hospital, but when we checked in, it was already the new day.
“Standard room?” The clerk asked.
“What else is available?” I slid my ID and credit card across the counter to her.
“We have a junior suite, which just means there is a small couch.” She tapped on her computer keyboard. “We also have our honeymoon suite.”
It was an odd thing to have at the hospital affiliated hotel. Maybe we weren’t the only ones who got married within those walls.
“We’ll take that.”
“Are you sure,” my mate whispered. “We don’t have to.”
“It’s the honeymoon suite and we just got married. I think it’s the law.”
He rolled his eyes, but didn’t try to talk me out of it. Once we were checked in, the clerk directed us to our room and told us to call if we needed anything.
Once we were in the elevator, Heston wrapped his arms around my neck, holding me close.
“There are not enough thanks for all you did for me and my dad today, and I don’t just mean helping figure out the money.
You were there. Like there, there. You didn’t stand to the side and hope to blend in.
You jumped right into the thick of it so I wouldn’t be alone. ”
I kissed the top of his head just as the elevator stopped and the doors opened. “Let’s go see our room.” There were things to say. So many, but first we needed to get some privacy.
The room was nice. Very nice, even. It wasn’t one of those fancy Honeymoon Suites with a crystal chandelier and multiple rooms, but it was far better than the cramped room I was expecting to get when we walked into the hotel.
“Want me to order food?” I set the card key down.
“I’m hungry, but it’s not for food.” He pulled off his shirt. “I need to feel tonight.” He reached for my shirt and loosened it from my pants. “Make me feel.”
“I would do anything for you.” I meant those words. There was nothing he could ask of me that was too much.
“Then mark me.” He pulled off my belt. “And let me mark you, too.”
Before I could answer him, he sealed his lips to mine. There was nothing slow and easy about his kiss. It was raw and needy and filled with so much emotion it nearly bowled me over. I grabbed his hips, holding him to me as he explored my mouth with his.
“Naked. Now.” He mumbled against my lips. It took a few seconds for my brain to catch up with what he was requesting and when it did, I scooped him up, still kissing him, and carried him to the huge bed, setting him down gently and first removing his clothing and then my own.
“As you requested, mate.” He scootched back on the mattress and crooked a finger for me to follow him.
I crawled up the bed and between his legs, kissing a path up his inner thigh and stopping at his hard length long enough to tease it with my mouth and then continuing my journey.
“Hi, Husband.” I smiled down at him.
“Hi Husband.” He wrapped his legs around me, and his arms pulled me down so my weight was fully on him. “That’s better.” He nibbled my bottom lip.
“Gods, you’re sexy.” There was no way I deserved an omega like Heston. None. But I sure as fuck was going to spend the rest of my life trying to be good enough for him.
“Show me how sexy you think I am. Give me your knot.”
“Anything for you.”
I put a pillow under his hips, and lined myself up with his entrance.
Slowly I pushed into him, loving the look on his face as I gave him what he’d been waiting for.
He started to move his hips before I was fully seated.
My needy omega needed to be fucked and it was going to be my honor to give it to him.
I held his hips firmly, keeping them still as I thrust in and out of him, slowly at first. He didn’t let my hands hold him still for long. He cried out my name like a prayer as he met me thrust for thrust.
“Fuck… you feel like home.”
“I am home… your home, Devyn. Always.”
“Yes, always.” My orgasm was threatening to push through, but I refused to come before my mate exploded.
I didn’t need to wait long. He reached between us and barely touched his cock when his head fell back, cum shooting up his chest.
“Fill me, alpha!”
I pumped harder and faster, my cum filling his needy channel just as he pulled me to him, his teeth sinking into my shoulder as I gave myself over to my wolf, my teeth elongating seconds before they tore at his flesh.
My beast wasn’t okay with just marking him. He wanted the scar to be unmistakable.
Any trepidation I had, any concern that I might’ve been too feral vanished as my mate instantly began to come again. I wasn’t sure how it was even possible, but as his cum shot out, his body quivered, and he cried out, “Mine.”
He was mine and I was his.
I somehow managed to get the covers around us with our bodies joined together by my knot. My mate’s eyes fluttered shut. There would be no sweet post-love making chatter tonight. No. My mate was exhausted.
He started to doze while I was fully seated in his ass.
“Sleep well, husband of mine. I love you.” I pressed a kiss to his forehead, and forced myself not to think about tomorrow and all that it would involve. Tonight was about my husband, my mate, my Heston.
