Side Story Verenias Forbidden Memory

The castle's west wing wasn't on the map.

Which is why Verenia, naturally, followed a suspicious flicker of light down a hallway that should not have existed.

The torches lit themselves as she passed.

The air shimmered with that too-clean feeling of an unfinished cutscene.

At the end of the hall was a door.

On it, "ADMIN ACCESS ONLY."

She opened it.

Inside was a room full of floating script—strings of dialogue, character data, broken flags, system notes... and in the center, a memory orb humming with power.

The instant her fingers touched it, the world paused.

A cutscene loaded.

DEV A: "Why is she syncing with the prototype?"

DEV B: "It's not supposed to happen. Her file is... corrupted?"

DEV C: "She's rewriting the story as she goes. That shouldn't be possible."

DEV A: "And yet it is. Look—she's stabilizing H.A.Z.E."

The cutscene ends.

The orb dims.

And Verenia is left alone, heart pounding.

"I've been here before," she whispers.

And for the first time, she realizes that she wasn't "isekai'd" by accident in this world.

She was brought here.

Either to fix it or destroy it.
