Side Story Verenia Tries to Go on a Date-The Plot Says No
We finally got a date night.
Candlelit dinner. Private balcony.
Floating island that technically didn't obey gravity but we were rolling with it.
Ashrin wore a tailored glitch-coat that flickered every time he blushed.
I had a dress stitched from narrative threads and backup flower files.
It was perfect.
Until the plot showed up.
Mid-toast, a shadowy hooded figure jumped out of a potted plant and screamed, "YOU DARE ROMANCE THE GLITCH-KNIGHT?!"
Ashrin didn't even blink. "Not tonight, plot gremlin."
He tossed a fork like a dagger. It hit the figure's hood, which turned out to be a menu screen in disguise.
I sipped my wine. "That a new one?"
"Random encounter," he said, sighing. "Someone forgot to turn off the combat flag."
We continued our dinner while fending off rogue side quests, one cursed poet, and a minor antagonist who just wanted someone to read his tragic backstory.
Romance is hard when the game engine has trust issues.
