Chapter 6 #3

“Sure thing. If we’re enraged or very passionate about a situation, we can lose control of our wolves briefly, but we’ve been trained how to handle those situations.

At least most of us anyway. Don’t worry, Georgia.

We’re not interested in hurting humans and I’ll let you in on a little secret.

There’s a lot of us who haven’t shifted for years and have no intention of doing so.

We don’t need to hunt for our food and even the freedom that being a wolf allows isn’t the thrill ride it once was. ”

“A thrill ride.”

“Yes, running freely without the confines of our human bodies. Feeling the cool breeze in our fur and the damp earth in our claws. The thrill of the chase and the speeds that we can run are all undeniably attractive. Some within the younger generation are finding a new love for embracing their wolf, but it’s a mixed bag at this point. ”

“And you?” I dared to ask.

He shrugged, very nonchalant about the entire situation when I was freaking out a little inside. Had my father known he was placing me in a society full of dangerous wolves?

“I haven’t shifted in a couple years, but I won’t lie and suggest the hankering hasn’t been there lately. Now that we no longer feel the need to hide, I might find the joy in doing so. I don’t know. We’ll see. Can I get you ladies another drink?”

I held up my glass. Thank God, I didn’t have far to drive. “Please.”

“Sure. Why not,” Roxanne said, her entire face beaming, reminding me of when I was in high school and my best friend and I had shared secrets we swore we’d take to the grave. “So what do you think?”

“What do I think? I think I just dropped into an episode of the Twilight Zone. Ford Kendrick is really a wolf?’

“Hence the Wolfman.”

“My God. Are they all so arrogant?”

“Pretty much. Think about it. They could be tops in any sport. They could blow the competition away, but they choose not to. They harness their natural power, which is an amazing feat if you ask me. But also, a reason so many people still hate them and some politicians do not want them allowed to play sports.”

“Ford really doesn’t use his special attributes?”

“Oh, my guess is like any red-blooded male, when they become hyped up on adrenaline, they use every bit of their masculinity, but he’s very controlled. So are his brothers. However, that gives them the excuse in their minds to act so damn overconfident. Because they know they’re hot stuff.”

“Whew,” I whistled and swirled my glass. “You’ll have to forgive me if I’m a little apprehensive about buying the entire story. I like to consider myself a woman of science. Are you sure all this hoopla isn’t one big hoax?”

“What if I told you I’ve seen one shift?”

A gasp left my mouth before I could stop it. “You have?”

Her frown was exaggerated. “No, and I so want to. Even Jake won’t shift for me.”

“I see.”

“If you don’t believe me, go online. You can find a lot of information on the internet.

Just keep in mind that there are a lot of rumors and lies about them.

A lot. Even the team still faces criticism and what many believers call pure bigotry.

People are on both sides of the fence, which is why if you go to an away game, you’ll learn just how divided some people can be. ”

“Humans.”

Roxanne folded her arms on the table, nodding.

“Yes, but also some wolves. I’ve lived in North Bend long enough to know there are some older packs that are none too thrilled their existence has been shoved into the open.

There’s been some violence between packs that has become very bloody.

They mostly take care of their own situations, but sometimes, it crosses over. ”

“Wow. I can imagine what doctors are thinking.”

“They have their own medical professionals, although not in every city. From what I heard, Ford has a human doctor who wasn’t quite certain what to do with his physical needs. The weird thing about his injury is that he should have fully healed by now.”

“Why?”

“Another one of their unique attributes. Rapid healing. For some reason though, Ford isn’t healing like a shifter, but like a human instead.”

That was an interesting dilemma. “Look, even if I buy all this mumbo-jumbo, which I’d not certain I can, I don’t know if I can help him.”

“Something tells me you’re exactly what he needs. My father believes in you and I realize there’s more to your skills than you’re sharing with anyone. The Wolfman needs more than just physical help. He’s hurting inside and if what I heard was true, that’s for him to tell you.”

She picked a fine time to be an honorable human being. Now I was more than curious. Plus, I was hot all over. How was that possible?

“I need to think about what you’ve told me. Not that I’m leaving. I’m just overwhelmed and unsure I’m going to be helpful.”

“You don’t know him like the rest of us do. You’ve sparked something in him. Don’t give up. Besides, I’ll let you in on a little secret about shifter men.”

“Uh-oh. Do I want to know?”

She rolled her eyes slightly and the look on her face was priceless, full of the earlier mischief. “That depends on just how close you get to Ford.”

“Your spidey sense was wrong. We aren’t getting along. At all. As in oil and water.”

“My spidey sense is never wrong.” She leaned so far over the table I found myself doing the same. She even lowered her voice to ensure wolf ears weren’t listening to what she was about to say. “They are all extremely well hung.”

“What?” Her comment was something I never would have thought I’d hear coming out of anyone’s mouth, let alone someone I just had an initial conversation with.

Not that what we’d discussed had been conventional in any way.

“I’m not kidding.” She sucked in her lips, her eyes sparkling in the dim lighting. Then she used both hands indicating size and God help me, not only did I blush in several crimson shades, but I also felt myself swooning just a tiny bit.

Not because I didn’t know, but because I already did.

Oh, what a very bad girl I’d been.

* * *

“Run, little Red Riding Hood. Run.” His voice came from everywhere, deep and husky, evoking dark and sinful desires as he’d done from the beginning. “But you won’t escape me.”

“Yes, I will,” I retorted, laughing softly as I did.

“Think again. I’m going to find you.”

I gave him what he wanted, racing through the darkness, going deeper into the forest. My mind was free of the toxins of everyday life, savoring the light breeze dancing across my skin.

With only the full moon to guide me, I pushed my limits, bounding over fallen limbs and through underbrush that would normally bother me.

An intense growl rumbled through the night sky, tiny creatures skittering away in fear. Instead of anxiety I was floating on air, hiding behind a huge oak tree and pressing my hand against my mouth to keep from laughing. The moment was surreal and perfect.

Hearing nothing, no movement of any kind, I darted my head out.

Fingers snapped around my wrist, yanking me into the open and into his arms. Gasping, I fought him as he wanted, as we both preferred, even beating my fists against his carved chest.

With a smile on his handsome face, he swung me around in a complete circle before driving me against the very tree where I’d been hiding from him.

He wasn’t going to allow me to go anywhere.

The hunger on his face was as intense as the raging heat erupting between us.

As he raked his eyes down the length of me, chuckling seeing my bare feet, he took several deep breaths.

Every sound he made was filled with powerful desire, his wolf remaining close to the surface.

My pussy ached, my core completely on fire. I’d never wanted anyone the way I did with him, a man who knew exactly what I craved. What my body required.

Taking a single step away, he raked his hand down my dress, splitting it in two. As the material fell away, he spun me around to face the tree.

“You thought you could get away,” he breathed in his dark, dangerous tone while bringing his hand down against my bottom. Not once but several times.

The pain was delicious, forcing me to hug the tree. I was on my toes, my legs spread for him as he required. So wet. So eager. So in need.

His laugh sent a series of vibrations deep into my stomach as he cracked his hand against my bottom several additional times. I closed my eyes, accepting my punishment like a good little girl.

Knowing I’d run away again. And again.

The heat of his hand was amazing, the sound as his palm slapped against my skin keeping me shuddering from his touch. After six more smacks moving from one side to the other, he slipped his fingers between my legs, driving the tips into my pussy.

“So wet for me. Aren’t you?”

“Yes. Fuck me. I need you.”

“Mmm…” Another growl filtered into my ears as he pulled me around to face him. His eyes glowed, flecks of gold surrounding a sea of emerald green as he gathered me into his arms, lifting me off the ground.

I wrapped my feet around his massive thighs just before he thrust me against the bark, plunging the entire length of his cock inside. He captured my scream with his mouth, instantly driving his tongue inside.

His dick was thick and hard, stretching my muscles with his size. Every inch of skin was electrified, every ragged heartbeat matching his. With his tongue exploring my mouth, he pounded into me, driving my back against the tree.

Harder.

Faster.

Filling me completely.

My nipples were pebbles, my breasts swollen, and I craved his lips pulling them into his mouth. Juice slickened both inner thighs, the scent of our combined desire swirling around us.

His shaft grew in size, stretching my muscles even more, pushing my limits while pleasure turned to sheer ecstasy. Nothing had ever felt so perfect.

In those moments as he fucked me like a wild animal, I was lost in both the intensity of the bonding and the control he had over both me and my body.

As if we were being mated, soon to become as one.
