Chapter 32

Listening to Kieran’s heartfelt words did more for Logan than anything Oracle said, for it was his mate that mattered most to him.

Framing Kieran’s beautiful face, Logan said, “I love you…

just you…and for the rest of our lives together, I want you with me…

always close to me when I go to bed at night and when I get up in the morning, because you gave me my life back…

the one taken from me through no fault of my own, but by undeserved and unwarranted hatred by my father.

I feel, really feel, for the first time since my childhood…

love…and the beauty it brings to the world.

Before you came into my life, I was blind…

blind to the beauty the gods had given us…

whether it was nature, or people, or in my soul.

But you, my precious mate, tore the blindfold off and now I can see again!

“I love everything about you and I need you like a thirsty man needs water, but my thirst for you will never be quenched. So, thank you for everything and I am so fucking proud to be chosen to be your Fated Mate. But I will have to disagree with you on one point…I’m the one who’s the luckiest man to ever walk on the face of this earth because I have you, now and forever more. ”

Logan softly kissed his pink-loving twink…

a kiss filled with endless love and devotion…

a kiss to claim what belonged to him…a kiss conveying the truth of Logan’s words.

Bound together by love, the rest of the world fell away and a beam of sunlight descended from the heavens, enveloping them in a golden glow.

How long they sat there, neither knew, but both were reluctant to part until they heard Oracle clearing her throat.

Logan slowly left Kieran’s pink, plump lips, but not before giving the lower one a love bite.

With his eyes still locked on his mate’s, Logan’s raspy, emotion-filled voiced asked Oracle, “Is there anything else you need to tell me?”

“I thought you might want to know how to change into different shifters.”

Kieran grinned at Logan, “Macushla, that might be helpful but make sure you know how to change back also. I’m rather partial to you this way.”

“So, am I,” Logan laughed. Turning to Oracle, he asked, “So how do I do it?”

Smiling, Oracle said, “You simply say the type of shifter you want to change into and then, to change back, you think ‘me’. Do you want to try while I am still here?”

“Say yes, macushla,” Kieran said, grinning and tweaking his mate’s nipple, “I want to make sure I get you back.”

Logan grinned. “What do you want me to become?”

“Hmm, let’s see…nothing too big because I don’t want to pay for anything you break…but not too small as I don’t want to lose you…I know, a Sun Bear!”

“You got it. I think I better stand over there,” Logan said, pointing to a large empty space, “I don’t want to hurt you.” After Kieran left his lap, Logan rose and walked over to where he’d pointed. Addressing Oracle, he said, “I just think it, right?”

“Yes.”

Logan looked at his mate again and saw that Kieran was giggling.

Blowing a kiss to his mate, Logan hesitated a second before thinking, “Sun Bear,” and, what happened next was the stuff of legend as Logan’s body morphed into a gorgeous Sun Bear.

Once his body had stopped changing, Logan looked down and saw bear paws with large, curved, pointed claws and short, sleek jet-black fur covering his body.

But when his tongue extended from his mouth a good nine inches, he knew why his mate had picked a Sun Bear.

My mate has a one-track mind! Promising to give Kieran what he craved, Logan thought ‘me’ and felt himself morph back to his human form.

As his body was revealed, Logan realized he hadn’t removed his clothes, and expected to find himself naked; instead, he was wearing the clothes he had on before becoming a Sun Bear. Confused at what happened, he asked Oracle, “Not that I mind, but how come my clothes weren’t destroyed?”

“Oh yes, when you shapeshift, your clothes will shift with you. This keeps eyes other than Kieran’s from seeing you naked,” said Oracle, with a twinkle in her eye. “If you do not have any more questions, I will be on my way.”

“One other thing,” asked Logan. “Will you be telling Jackson about my gift?”

“No. But I recommend you and Kieran decide together on a course of action. Jackson is your Alpha and will want to know. What you say, or do not say, is totally up to you and Kieran since only he can decide who to tell about himself. I know Dylon and Cody know, but they are bound by the same rule as I am, so they will say nothing. And other than Kieran and myself, no one knows what your gift is, and my recommendation is to keep it as close to that number as possible.”

Logan nodded, “Thanks for coming all this way, Oracle. Please let Jackson know everything is fine and that we’ll see Theo and Norman in Scotland in a few days.”

“Yes, I will, Good bye boys, have some fun.”

Kieran ran to Oracle and hugged her. “Thank you for everything! It means the world to me to have something from my mother.”

“I was delighted to be the one to tell you, Kieran.”

Logan came up behind Kieran, wrapping his arms around his mate and joined him in saying good-bye to Oracle. When they were alone again, Logan growled in Kieran’s ear “A Sun Bear, eh? Any particular reason why you picked a Sun Bear?”

“Uhmm, nope, just popped into my head.”

“Okay. It’s just that something occurred to me when I was a Sun Bear and I thought you might have had that in mind. But no problem, I’ll forget that I ever thought it.”

“You had an idea? What idea?” asked Kieran, wiggling in Logan’s arms, trying to turn to face him.

“It’s no big deal…just something that struck me when I realized how long my tongue was. But forget it.”

“Wait a minute…tell me…what idea about your long tongue?”

“No, that’s okay. Sorry I said anything.”

Kieran’s eyes narrowed when he saw his mate’s lips twitch. He’s teasing me. He knows exactly why I picked the Sun Bear. He grinned, then said, “Okay, what do you want to do the rest of the day? I was thinking we should go to some museums, stuff like that. Good idea?”

Museums? What the fuck? Then Logan chuckled when he heard the familiar giggle that always brought a smile to his face.

He was being played. “You win! The first thing I thought of when I realized how long a Sun Bear’s tongue is, was rimming you and I figured it was another one of your hints.

So, do you still want to go to the museums or would you rather… ”

Bouncing on his toes, Kieran said, “Nope, I want to be rimmed. Oh, my gods, finally, I have been wanting this, like forever.” He started taking off his clothes, but Logan stopped him.

“Babe, Thomas will be here shortly with a late lunch for us. So, do you mind if we wait until later for me to grant your wish? There’s also a short errand I want us to do after we eat so if you can wait till tonight, I’ll so make it worth your patience.

” Logan grasped Kieran’s hips and pulled them close, so their cocks were rubbing against each other, smiling at the lust he saw in his mate’s face.

“What errand do we have to do?” Kieran gasped, feeling the heat rise in him as he felt his mate’s hard cock against his.

“It’s a surprise but believe me, you will want to do it.”

“Uh-h-h, okay,” Kieran replied, trying to concentrate on what Logan was saying. Losing the battle, he pushed his cock tight against his mate’s and started grinding against it. Low moans erupted from him as he continued his erotic dance, chasing his orgasm.

Logan’s hands lowered to Kieran’s ass, kneading it, while he shoved a knee between his mate’s legs, further fueling Kieran’s need. Pushing, pulling, grinding, the two of them were lost in their climb up the pleasure mountain, each seeking to reach the pinnacle at the same time.

Slipping a hand inside his mate’s pants, Logan’s finger found the pink pucker of his mate.

Pressing against the bundle of nerves guarding it, he heard his mate cry out, then felt Kieran’s cock pulse as cum filled his mate’s pants.

Listening to Kieran’s erotic cries intensified Logan’s need and his pants were soon as wet as his mate’s.

Scooping up Kieran, Logan carried him to the bathroom, where he stripped him, led him into the shower and tenderly soaped him up.

After rinsing off both of them, he towel-dried his mate, before drying himself.

Then, leading Kieran back to the room, he wrapped his mate in a huge, white, fluffy, soft robe before donning his own.

As he was tying it around himself, Logan heard Thomas knock.

The late afternoon sun was struggling to break through the gray sky but other than a few glimpses of it, Kieran only saw rain-laden clouds.

He wasn’t sure where the car was headed, but his mate’s cryptic comment about keeping his word, had Kieran on edge, wondering what Logan meant.

The driver made a stop in the village, where Logan got out, declining Kieran’s offer to accompany him, and left him sitting in the car, trying to figure out what the surprise was.

Before long, Logan came out carrying a large, flat package and placed it in the trunk of the car, after which they resumed their journey.

Eventually, Kieran dozed off, lulled to sleep by the engine noise and the emotional events earlier in the day.

When he opened his eyes, he found himself tucked against Logan’s side with his mate’s arm holding him firmly.

He assumed they’d reached the destination as the car had stopped and the driver was nowhere to be seen.

Stretching, he sat up, looked around and quickly realized where Logan had brought him.

His eyes teared up, unable to hold back the rush of emotion he felt at being back at the place where he was found as an infant.

Giving his mate a questioning glance, he waited for him to explain why they were there.

“Mo anan cara, on this day, when all secrets have been exposed and you and I are now one, I wanted to have a ceremony at your mother’s grave, first to place a headstone so she is no longer a nameless soul and second for me to pledge to your mother that her promise to always protect you will now be assumed by me. ”

Kieran felt the tears slowly roll down his face as he listened to his mate.

His heart stuttered at the thought of placing the marker, knowing it would represent the finality of his mother’s life, something his mind had accepted, but for so long his heart had not, hoping she would still be alive.

Looking into Logan’s face, he saw his pain reflected in his mate’s eyes and at that moment, knew Logan was here to say good-bye to his own mother. Unable to speak, he simply nodded.

Grasping Kieran’s hand, Logan opened the door and slid out, pulling his mate with him.

Taking the unwrapped, thin headstone and a small spade from the driver, Logan—looking over at the ancient oak tree—pulled Kieran’s hand up to his lips and kissed it.

“Ready, babe?” A feathery whispered ‘yes’ floated past his ear before being carried away by the wind.

Taking a deep breath together, Logan and Kieran began to walk over to the spot where Caitlín was buried.

Hand in hand, their slow and measured steps fell silently on the lush green earth while dusk continued to fall. Arriving at the grave, they paused, each absorbed in memories of a childhood lost. Finally, Logan squeezed Kieran’s hand. “Are you okay?”

“I am, macushla.”

Dropping his mate’s hand, Logan bent down and dug a place for the headstone and then, placing it in the trench, he piled the earth back around it before standing and taking Kieran’s hand.

Together, silently, they stared at the carving on the stone.

Beneath an etching of a wolf’s head it read, ‘Here lies Caitlín, beloved mother of Kieran’.

He closed his eyes, tears freely running down his face as those words played on an endless loop through his mind.

Kieran felt the pain in his soul as he finally accepted his mother was gone.

A thousand wishes flowed through his heart, all of which had different outcomes, but none of which would ever be granted.

When he felt Logan squeezing his hand, he realized his spirit was urging him to open his eyes.

Forcing them open, expecting only to see the grayness of the marker, Kieran gasped—for there in front of him, in the land of fairies and leprechauns, were his parents, arms around each other, smiling at him.

Their words were carried on the night wind as they spoke to him: “Hello Kieran, our time is short in this world, but it is important you know how much we love you. The moments we had with you are treasured and carried in our hearts. Be safe, Kieran, and know we will always be in your heart. Love you, son.”

As his parents faded away, Kieran softly replied, “Ditto.” A deep peace settled over him, filling him with his parents’ love as he finally had all his questions answered. Leaning against his mate, he said, “Thank you, macushla, for everything.”

“You’re welcome,” Logan said. “Will you be okay?”

“Uh huh. More than okay, I believe, because I’m at peace. I never realized how much the thought of being unwanted permeated my heart and soul but now that it’s gone, I can feel the difference inside me.”

“I’m so happy for you. I just have a few words to say and then we can go, all right?”

Smiling gently at his mate, Kieran nodded, knowing Logan needed to do this.

Logan stared at Caitlín’s headstone for a few moments before he started to speak.

“Every breath I take is a breath Kieran has given me because, you see, he saved me…saved me when I didn’t even know I was dying inside…

saved me by giving me back my life that had been lost in childhood…

saved me by loving me, a person I was sure wasn’t worth anyone’s love.

I know you’re proud of the man your son has become as much as I am, but my feelings go so much deeper.

I love Kieran with my whole heart and soul for without him, I will die.

I need him as much as I need air to breathe.

So, I make this vow before you…his parents…

the gods and the Fates, I will protect him with my life, from all evil and danger, now and until the end of our days. ”
